VIBRATORY UNLOADING KNEE BRACE FOR KNEE OSTEOARTHRITIS
A knee device and method of stimulating muscles is disclosed. The knee device includes a knee brace with a support frame and vibration components. The vibration components are connected to the support frame by adjustable arms that allow for precise adjustments in the spatial position and orientation of the vibration components. The vibration components can be activated by the ambulation of a user.
INFLATABLE BLADDER HAND ORTHOSIS
An orthosis comprises a palmar splint section aligned with a palm of a hand of a human subject and a wrist and forearm splint section extending from the palmar splint section to a distance corresponding to at least a portion of a forearm of the human subject. A bladder support is pivotally connected to the palmar splint section and comprises a bladder connecting surface opposite to a surface of the bladder support facing the palmar splint section. An inflatable bladder is arranged on the bladder connecting surface and is aligned with MCP joints of the fingers of the hand. The orthosis is particularly useful for human subjects having suffered from neurological diseases or cerebrovascular accident (CVA).
SLIDING ASSEMBLY AND MOTION ASSISTANCE APPARATUS INCLUDING THE SAME
A sliding assembly may include a supporting frame having a proximal end and a distal end, a sliding frame partially inserted to the supporting frame, and a supporting member disposed between the supporting frame and the sliding frame to prevent the supporting frame from directly contacting the sliding frame, wherein the sliding frame is configured to move relative to the supporting frame.
ORTHOPEDIC DEVICE, STRAP SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SECURING THE SAME
An orthopedic device includes a frame, a strap system including first and second straps connecting to the frame, and an adjustment mechanism couples to the first and second straps and simultaneously regulates tension in the first and second straps by moving the first and second straps relative to the frame. The strap system includes a length adjustment system for modifying the length of the strap.
FRAME ASSEMBLY AND MOTION ASSISTANCE APPARATUS INCLUDING THE SAME
A frame assembly includes a first longitudinal member, a second longitudinal member spaced apart from the first longitudinal member, and a plurality of distance maintaining members connected between the first longitudinal member and the second longitudinal member, and configured to maintain a distance between the first longitudinal member and the second longitudinal member.
HINGE ASSEMBLY FOR AN ORTHOPEDIC DEVICE
A method of making a hinge assembly includes selecting a defined motion path of a hinge assembly comprising a first hinge arm including a first gear having a first plurality of teeth, and a second hinge arm including a second gear having a second plurality of teeth arranged to interact with the first teeth. The defined motion path includes a variable translation of the second hinge arm. The method involves determining a first profile of the first gear along the first teeth and a second profile of the second gear along the second teeth based on the defined motion path. The method involves connecting the first hinge arm to the second hinge arm such that as the second hinge arm rotates relative to the first hinge arm the interaction between the first and second teeth along the first and second profiles translates the second hinge arm along the defined motion path.
Orthopedic knee brace with dynamically changing medial and lateral hinges
An orthopedic knee brace includes an upper medial upright; a lower medial upright; an upper lateral upright; a lower lateral upright; a medial hinge connected rotatably to the upper and lower medial uprights; a lateral hinge connected rotatably to the upper and lower lateral uprights; and wherein one of the medial and lateral hinges is configured such that its respective uprights rotate from a flexion to an extended relative positioning while striking a radially-decreasing arc, while the other of the medial and lateral hinges is configured such that its respective uprights rotate from a flexion to an extended relative positioning while striking a radially-increasing arc.
JOINT DEVICE
A joint device of an orthosis with an upper part and with a lower part that is arranged on the upper part in an articulated manner, with a first fastening device for securing the upper part to a patient and a second fastening device for securing the lower part to a limb, wherein the joint device connects the upper part to the lower part in an articulated manner and has an upper part binding and a lower part binding via which the upper part and the lower part can be secured to the fastening devices, wherein the joint device has at least four degrees of freedom.
Weight distribution exoskeleton
A weight-distributing exoskeleton capable of supporting and/or control the distribution of at least part of the weight of a protective garment and/or face shield proximate the knee of the user. The exoskeleton may include a plurality of leg structures, each leg structure including a knee joint or knee hinge configured to bear the load of the protective garment, and a foot member including a magnetic quick release mechanism configured to control quickly engage with and release from the leg structures. The weight of the protective garment and/or face shield is transferred to the floor such that the user bears little to no burden of carrying it.
