ADJUSTABLE TOE PLATE FOR AN ADJUSTABLE BOOT BRACE
An adjustable toe plate for an adjustable boot brace adapted to aid in stretching and supporting inflamed tissues and/or an inflamed plantar fascia within a person's foot while healing. The adjustable toe plate includes a toe plate adjustment mechanism to adjust the angle of the toe plate with respect to its foot portion, such that a person can adjust the position and angle of their toes during the healing process.
SYSTEM AND COMPONENTS THEREFOR FOR USE IN TREATING A BONE FRACTURE
The specification describes improvements to splints for use in treatment of bone fractures, having particular application for treatment of distal radius fractures. The splints are adjustable, and may be provided in a range of sizes, allowing them to be better customised to a treatment of a patient. In addition, embodiments of the splints are configured for use in treating distal radius fractures treated by surgical fixation.
ORTHESIS, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ADAPTING AN ORTHESIS
An orthesis, which has an upper part and a lower part, which are coupled to each other with a first joint device in such a way that the upper part and the lower part can pivot about a pivot axis, wherein devices for receiving a body part or a limb or for fastening the orthesis to a body part or a limb are arranged on the upper part and/or the lower part, and wherein an upper support element is fastened to the upper part on one side and a lower support element is fastened to the lower part on one side, which support elements are connected to each other with a second joint device in such a way that said support elements can pivot about the pivot axis. A bearing plate having at least one fastening device for fastening the second joint device is fastened to or formed on the upper part and/or the lower part.
Motion assistance apparatus
A motion assistance apparatus including a proximal frame configured to support a proximal part of a user, a distal frame configured to support a distal part of the user, and a force transmitting member slidably connected to the proximal frame, and rotatably connected to the distal frame is provided.
ORTHOPEDIC DEVICE
The invention relates to an orthopedic device with a joint with a first joint element with a first joint arm and a first positive-locking element, and a second joint element that can be swivelled relative to the first joint element, said second joint element comprising a second joint arm and a force application lever with a second positive-locking element, and a mechanical energy store, which is arranged between the force application lever and the second joint arm, wherein the mechanical energy store can be charged and discharged by swivelling the first joint arm relative to the second joint arm when the positive-locking element engages with the second positive-locking element, wherein the device has a safety device which ensures that, irrespective of the position of the first positive-locking element and the second positive-locking element relative to one another, the two positive-locking elements can be engaged with one another in such a way that a force exerted by the charged mechanical energy store is transmitted from the second positive-locking element to the first positive-locking element.
CONFIGURABLE ORTHOSIS AND METHOD OF DEFINITIVE ORTHOTIC DESIGN, FABRICATION AND VALIDATION
Configurable orthoses having a high degree of independent adjustability of various parameters are provided. In the example of a rehabilitation-evaluation ankle-foot orthosis (REAFO), these parameters may include calf band anteroposterior, height, width, sagittal tilt, coronal tilt, and mediolateral displacement adjustments; mediolateral displacement adjustments of a supramalleolar support; heel width/stirrup separation adjustment; and sagittal active joint resistance and neutral angle adjustments. Calf band mediolateral displacement adjustment may be provided by a lockable four-bar pivoting frame linkage of the REAFO. In one aspect, the configurable orthosis is used in conjunction with a plastically deformable precursor member to facilitate the design and manufacture of a definitive orthosis customized for a particular patient. In another aspect, the orthosis communicatively transmits limb shape data to either a positive shape receiver apparatus or a CAD/CAM apparatus, to facilitate design and manufacture of a definitive orthosis.
Swing training device
A swing training device has an upper cuff for removably receiving an upper arm of a user and a lower cuff for removably receiving a lower arm of the user. A hinge connects the cuffs, which are movable about the hinge and relative to each other between an extended position and a retracted position. An elastic member biases the cuffs toward the extended position. The device may be utilized for medical uses, such as for rehabilitation or strengthening exercises.
EXOSKELETON
The present invention discloses an exoskeleton which comprises a force balance back-carrying unit composed of a back-carrying assisting unit and a front-carrying assisting unit, a hip unit and a lower limb supporting unit, wherein the force balance back-carrying unit transfer the weight of a back-carrying load and/or a front-carrying load to the lower limb supporting unit through the hip unit to achieve the effort of assisting for the back-carrying load and/or the front-carrying load, wherein the length of the hip unit can be adjusted on the left-right plane and the upper-lower plane to adapt to wearers with different body types. On the other hand, the exoskeleton of the present invention is also provided with a buffer device to reduce the impact of the loads on the exoskeleton. The exoskeleton of the present invention also adopts quick-release joints, so as to modularize each part and standardize a docking interface of each module. The present invention can adapt to wearers with different hip shapes, and can transfer the weight of the back-carrying load and the front-carrying load to the lower limb supporting unit separately and simultaneously, so as to increase the weight-bearing efficiency and reduce the injuries to the back, the hands and the ankle joint.
Orthopedic device, method, and system for making an orthopedic device
An orthopedic device comprises a body having a monolithic structure and arranged to form a closed circumference in a secured configuration, the body having a predetermined shape in an unsecured configuration. The body is formed continuously without interruption from at least one polymeric material. A method for making the orthopedic device includes providing a schematic including a model representing a body part for which the orthopedic device is intended, providing at least one array of coordinates and indicia corresponding to the coordinates proximate to the model at a plurality of locations along the model, and providing a scale set corresponding to the coordinates. The dimensions obtained from measuring the body part may be used to form a custom-shaped orthopedic device.
ASSIST DEVICE
Provided is an assist device, including a lumbar orthosis, a buttock orthosis, an ankle orthosis, a leg frame and an assist mechanism. In response to a user's bending and stretching motions, the assist mechanism applies an assist force to the user's body by operating the leg frame and separating the lumbar orthosis and the buttock orthosis from the ankle orthosis. The ankle orthosis includes a front locking part and a back locking part configured to be locked to the user's lower leg, as well as an instep abutting part and a heel abutting part abutting against the user's foot from above.
