Joint assistive and locking device
Disclosed herein is a device for assisting and locking joints, having a supporting structure in the joint, at least one tensioning system fixed to the supporting structure and at least one artificial tendon connected to the tensioning system. The tension system interacts with the locking system in order to assist the user's joints when needed.
Passive power-conservative artificial knee
A wearable apparatus comprises a passive artificial knee that comprises first and second links coupled at a knee joint, a passive compressive force generator coupled to the second link, and a release mechanism coupled to the first link. When an angle of the first and second links is less than a toggle angle, the release mechanism locks in a first operational mode, and the force generator compresses, resisting flexing of the second link. When the angle is larger than the toggle angle, the force generator decompresses and encourages flexion of said second link. When the force generator is extended and said compressive force is small, the release mechanism moves into a second operational mode, wherein the force generator neither resists nor encourages extension and flexion of said second link from said first link. The wearable apparatus comprises an exoskeleton trunk configured to couple to an upper body of a user.
Orthopedic Strut With Multiple Attachment Clamps
Provided are a telescoping, adjustable orthopedic strut for use in conjunction with an external bone fixation (EBF) device and an EBF device that employs the strut. The strut includes swivel hinges at each end, wherein each swivel hinge is lockable in any position within a one hundred eighty degree (180) plane and has a three hundred sixty degree (360) angle of rotation with respect to an orthopedic plate of the EBF device; an outer sleeve; an inner sleeve configured to slide within the outer sleeve; wherein the inner sleeve and outer sleeve may be positioned and fixed with respect to each other to provide an acute adjustment of the length of the strut; a leadscrew threaded into the inner sleeve, wherein the lead screw can be either rotated or fixed in position; and one or more clamping mechanisms for attaching a EBF element to the strut.
Orthopedic joint system
An orthopedic joint system having an upper part and a lower part mounted thereon so as to pivot about a pivoting axis, and a pawl which prevents in a locking position any relative movement between the upper part and the lower part about the pivoting axis, and allows in a release position a relative movement about the pivoting axis. The pawl, in the locking position, interlockingly engages a locking element and can be shifted to the release position via a pull element, a first end of the pull element being attached to the upper part or to the lower part and moved along the outside of the pawl in a curved section, and a second end of the pull element being provided with an actuating device which causes the curved section to be shortened and the pawl to be moved to the release position when the actuating device is actuated.
Adjustable walking sole for an orthosis
An ankle/foot orthosis includes an orthosis boot that is attached to an adjustor unit that positions a sole offset from the orthosis boot. The adjuster unit provides angular adjustments of an inclination of the sole relative to the orthosis boot to accommodate a specific condition of the user's foot by rotation of wedged rotary plates to provide corrective alignment of the user's foot relative to a support surface during walking.
Manual Therapist Support Apparatus
A support apparatus for use with manual therapist. The support apparatus having a forearm support and an upper arm support. The forearm support has a forearm interlock end and a wrist end. The upper arm support has an upper arm interlock end that is configured to interlock with forearm interlock end when the arm is extended. The upper arm support has an upper arm support end configured to be placed in the underarm of the user. Forearm and upper arm attachments couples to the support apparatus to temporarily attach the support apparatus to the user's arm, wrist and hand.
Leg unit for a wearable sitting posture assisting device
A leg unit for a wearable sitting posture assisting device, comprises an upper support designed to receive a weight force of a person, a lower support designed to transmit the person's weight force to a ground, a joint connecting the at least two supports to each other, and a blocking means implementing a blocked state to block the joint at at least one sitting angle corresponding to an at least partly sitting posture, the leg unit comprising a guiding means for the blocking means, which guiding means is designed to allow a rotation of the joint while the blocking means is in the blocked state, to a wearable sitting posture assisting device, comprising two of these leg units, and to a method to block such a wearable sitting posture assisting device in an at least partly sitting posture.
ELECTROMAGNETIC LOCKING ELEMENT FOR A JOINT ORTHOSIS OR A JOINT PROSTHESIS
An electromagnetic locking element for locking a joint orthosis or joint prosthesis such as a knee orthosis or knee prosthesis. The electromagnetic locking element includes a bistable solenoid with at least one coil and at least one permanent magnet, a pin, which can be retracted and extended with the aid of the solenoid for locking the joint, one or several electrical energy stores such as capacitors, and an electrical control system, which, with the aid of semiconductor switches, discharges the energy store or stores via the at least one coil of the solenoid in such a way that the pin is extended.
Modular semi-active joint exoskeleton
Systems, methods, and apparatus provide an artificial knee. Such artificial knees may include a thigh link configured to move in unison with a thigh of the person, a shank link configured to be rotatably coupled to the thigh link, and a compression spring rotatably coupled to the thigh link at a first end and coupled to the shank link at a second end. The compression spring is configured to provide an extension torque between the thigh link and the shank link during a first range of motion of the thigh link and the shank link relative to each other. The compression spring is configured to provide a flexion torque between the thigh link and the shank link during a second range of motion of the thigh link and the shank link relative to each other.
SCOLIOSIS BRACE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
The present invention relates to a scoliosis brace worn on the body so as to enable the normal curvature of the spine to be restored, and a manufacturing method therefor. The scoliosis brace according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a support part worn so as to cover one shoulder or one side of the abdominal region of the body; and a pressure band coupled so as to connect one side and the other side of the support part, and covering one side or the other side of the abdominal region of the body or one side or the other side of the chest region of the body, with respect to the support part, so as to pressurize and support the same.
