CONNECTOR FOR AN ORTHOPEDIC DEVICE
A connector for a strap includes a buckle assembly having a base part, and a strap mount flexibly depending from the buckle assembly. The strap mount is integrally connected to the base part such that the base part is rigid when the strap mount bends relative thereto.
Hinge Brace
A hinge brace system including a first upright, a second upright, a gear, a cam, and a pin associated with each of the first upright and second upright, and a dial assembly opposite the gear housing. The dial assembly includes a dial base and a dial flange, the dial flange configured to rotatably step the cam, causing the gear to step about the gear housing. The gear further includes a limit marking, the limit marking extruding from the gear into a slot of the upright and preventing the upright from travelling beyond a desired angle, the angle preventing rotation of the hinge brace system in at least one of extension and flexion.
Emergency limb fixation or restraining device
A method of splinting limbs of a patient by a single person and an elongated splint device, for use in the method. The splint device has a first track member and second and third elongated riding members movably held and positioned on the first track member. The riding members are freely movable on the first track member along a single longitudinal axis to obtain a proper length for splinting and a releasable locking mechanism is included to maintain the selected length. Two or more adjustable belt elements are removably connected to the riding member and serve to affix the splint device to a patient in a proper splinting position.
Semi-active robotic joint
A robotic joint comprises a first link, a middle link, a torque generator, a second link, and a locking mechanism. Different ends of the middle link are rotatably coupled to the first link and the second link. The torque generator is coupled to the first link and the middle link and is configured to produce torque between these links. The locking mechanism is switchable between a locking state and an unlocking state. In the unlocking state, the locking mechanism allows free rotation of the second link relative to the middle link in the first and second rotation directions. In the locking state, the locking mechanism is configured to impede rotation of the second link relative to the middle link in the first rotation direction and to allow rotation of the second link relative to the middle link in the second rotation direction opposite of the first rotation direction.
Ankle foot orthosis
An ankle foot orthosis having a lower leg element, a foot element being pivotably coupled to the lower leg element around a pivot axis, and a first energy storing unit being adapted such that moving the foot element relative to the lower leg element in dorsiflexion direction from a position in which the amount of energy stored in the first energy storing unit is minimal loads the first energy storing unit with energy. The first energy storing unit is adapted such that the amount of energy stored in the first energy storing unit is increased by moving the foot element relative to the lower leg element in a plantar flexion direction from a first position in which the amount of energy stored in the first energy storing unit is minimal into a second position and moving the foot element relative to the lower leg element in dorsiflexion direction from the second position back into the first position.
Orthotic clubfoot device and method
A dual-adjustable orthotic device to treat clubfoot and methods for using same. The device comprises a pair of paddles, adapted to attach footwear, attached at opposing ends of an adjustable torque bar the device has independent configuration systems to adjust the angle at which the paddles are oriented to the bar, and to adjust the torque loading applied to the paddles. These systems facilitate the independent adjustment of the device settings without changing the tensioning mechanism, stocking multiple devices, or having to disassemble and reassemble the tensioning structures.
MULTI-MODAL REHABILITATION DEVICE AND METHODS
Apparatus and methods relate to a multi-modal rehabilitation device having a reconfigurably lockable, adjustable knee stabilizer and a removable foot plate provided with removable resistance elements. In an illustrative example, the resistance elements may be repositionable. The foot plate may be provided with rollers. The rollers may be configured for use in gliding exercises. The rollers may be configured for self-massage therapy. The rollers may be removable. The rollers may be disposed in a removable leg band which may be disposed around a leg of a user. In an illustrative example, the device further includes a graduated self-deflating thermal-compression device. Various embodiments may provide multiple therapy modalities in an efficient, economical, and user-friendly device.
Self-donning powered orthotic device
A powered orthotic device includes a brace, a finger engagement member, a thumb engagement member, and a hand actuator. The powered orthotic device includes a locking mechanism affixed to the brace, and a finger carrier assembly with a finger carrier to engage the fingers of the wearer, as well as an affixment member configured to be removably attached to the locking mechanism. The wearer dons the orthotic device, without assistance from another, by placing the set of fingers into the finger carrier and using a free hand of the wearer to affix the affixment member to the locking mechanism.

Various orthotic joint devices, components, and methods are provided. These include orthotic joint alignment devices for adjusting a neutral or fixed angle of an orthotic joint device independently of other parameters, orthotic joint devices providing staged resistance through staged recruitment of separate springs or initiation of staged spring-rate behavior of a single spring retained in a joint body, adapters for converting non-staged resistance orthotic joint devices into orthotic joint devices, and low-noise orthotic joint devices with intermittent normal force-transmitting contact associated with resistive or assistive forces provided by the devices, and methods of using the devices and components.
