Selectively adjustable arm and shoulder support
A contouring arm and shoulder support is provided that is secured to a supporting and stabilizing belt. The support system comprises a belt support and an arm support that are operatively interconnected and yet easily disassociated. The arm support provides dynamic support that allows the patient to move their injured arm if needed.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR A POCKET SLING JERSEY
A jersey adapted to be worn on a user's upper body comprising a torso portion having a first opening adjacent to the user's waist, a second opening adjacent to the user's neck, a third opening adjacent to the user's left arm, and a fourth opening adjacent to the user's right arm. The jersey also comprises a pocket sling disposed on the torso portion of the jersey and defining in part a hand opening and an arm opening. The pocket sling is adapted to receive and removably retain the user's arm. A method for stabilizing a user's arm and shoulder comprising providing a jersey, wearing the jersey on the user's upper body, and removably retaining the user's arm in the pocket sling.
Removable elbow brace
A brace to protect an elbow during healing, particularly for pediatric applications, is constructed from multiple thermoformable parts. The thermoformable parts harden like a cast, fitting partially around the humerus and the forearm as well as covering the posterior aspect of the elbow. The thermoformable parts are held in place by straps that extend between the parts, cupping the humerus and forearm therebetween. The brace may be customizable to any shape and size to the wearer. The brace may be easily removed for comfort or for washing and then replaced to provide continued support.
SHOULDER IMMOBILIZER AND FRACTURE STABILIZATION DEVICE
A shoulder immobilizer (20) includes a semi-rigid or rigid orthosis, in the form of an arm support (22), which supports the upper arm, elbow, forearm and wrist of a patient. A bolster (24) is positioned between the patient and the arm support (22). A body strap (26) extends around the patient and attaches to the arm support (22) and/or the bolster (24), holding the arm support and bolster in position against the body of the patient. In embodiments, the shoulder immobilizer (20) may utilize a shoulder strap (28), but such a shoulder strap is not necessary for shoulder immobilization of the patient.
Medical Protective and Exercise Restraint Systems and Methods
Intended to prevent self-extubation of nasal or oral tubes of an awake patient who may reflexively attempt removal of such and allow the early mobilization and exercise necessary for preservation of as much muscle strength as possible, promotion of diaphragmatic motion necessary for liberation from a ventilator, reduction of patient stress allowing for sedation minimization and improved cognition for reduction of delirium and post-intensive care syndrome, and relief of medical staff and healthcare dollars to focus more on healthcare rather than on protection from self-harm.
SHOULDER BRACE FOR NON-SURGICAL TREATMENT FOR ACROMIOCLAVICULAR JOINT DISLOCATION OR DISTAL CLAVICLE FRACTURE
To provide a shoulder brace for non-surgical treatment which is capable of immobilizing an upper arm of a patient in an extremity position where the upper arm hangs down along the trunk in treatment for acromioclavicular joint dislocation or distal clavicle fracture, for the purpose of promoting the activities of daily living of the patient and relieving the uneasiness/discomfort of the patient who has the shoulder brace for non-surgical treatment on.
The shoulder brace for non-surgical treatment includes a strap utilized for reduction, the strap forming a loop made in series by: a section which runs down vertically from the front of the acromioclavicular joint toward the ulnar side of the forearm; a section which runs across a forearm trough; a section which runs up from the radial side of the forearm windingly across the front of the upper arm to the back of the shoulder; and a section which runs across from the back to the front over the shoulder pad and reaches to the acromioclavicular joint part. The shoulder brace for non-surgical treatment is fitted to a patient in the extremity position where the upper arm hangs down, and the strap runs crossly or twistingly to stably retain the reduction.
Orthosis for fixing a shoulder joint
An orthosis having a strap arrangement which is designed to engage on an arm section at the elbow or adjacent to the elbow of the arm extending from the first shoulder joint, which is to be immobilized, in order to fix the elbow frontally on the body of the patient. The strap arrangement has a first strap section which is provided for at least partially looping around the arm section. The strap arrangement has a second strap section which is provided for at least partially looping around the arm section, and is incorporated into the strap arrangement such that, in the fitted state of the orthosis, the second strap section exerts on the arm section a second force which has at least a second component running parallel to the sagittal plane of the patient and horizontally.
Shoulder immobilizer and arm apparatus
A shoulder immobilizer and arm apparatus are provided for enhanced comfort and ease of use for rehabilitating a shoulder. The shoulder immobilizer includes a double figure-9 strap configuration to support the weight of an injured arm and shoulder comfortably. The shoulder immobilizer can be stepped down for modular construction and use depending on a user's needs. The shoulder immobilizer may be configured to cooperate with a corresponding arm apparatus, including an open-frame sling allowing for elbow extension and a simplified strap configuration.
Arm supporting air flight comfort system
A device for comfortably securing a user's arms while traveling, comprising one or more sheets of a fabric material which are formed into an article with a rounded pouch shape which comprises a top side, a bottom side, a left elbow pocket, and a right elbow pocket. The top of the device includes a hollow opening for inserting the user's arms into the article, which is sized to accommodate one or more dimensions of the user's arms while in a comfortable folded posture. The device secures the user's arms by providing a resistant compression force against the user's arms to prevent separation; maintaining the user's comfortable folded-arm posture.
Non-fixed shoulder brace
A non-fixed shoulder brace is provided comprising: an affected shoulder support which is supported on an affected shoulder of a wearer; a waist support coupled to the wearer's waist; an affected arm mounting part in which the wearer's affected arm is inserted and which is supported by means of an affected shoulder strap member from the affected shoulder support; and an affected upper limb exercise assistance apparatus coupled to both ends of the waist support and disposed between the wearer's waist and the affected arm mounting part.
