Orthosis, related components and methods of use
An orthosis, and components thereof, that may be used as a shoulder brace for immobilization of the arm and shoulder joint may comprise components that may allow for abduction, internal/external rotation and allow for flexion and extension simultaneously. Methods of using the brace and methods of using the brace and treating shoulder injuries are similarly provided.
SHOULDER IMPINGEMENT IN VIRTUAL REALITY MULTIUSER APPLICATION
The present technology pertains to shoulder positioning with full body tracking a multiuser virtual reality (VR) application. In one aspect, a client device that is participating in the multiuser VR application and may be configured to: receive sensor data from an arm motion sensor attached to a wearer; determine a first shoulder position of a shoulder of an avatar based on the sensor data; determine a shoulder inversion factor based on the first shoulder position; if the shoulder inversion factor exceeds a threshold, determine a second shoulder position based on the shoulder inversion factor; determine a third shoulder position based on the shoulder inversion factor; and render the avatar with the shoulder located at the third shoulder position. The determination of the third shoulder position may comprise blending the first shoulder position and the second shoulder position based on the shoulder inversion factor.
Orthopedic device for scapulothoracic stabilization
An orthopedic device is arranged for scapulothoracic stabilization, inclusive of features for biomechanical stabilization of the shoulder, scapula and spine, treated alone or in combination with assembly features for supporting an arm or shoulder. The orthopedic device may be arranged in a garment or shoulder harness such that either may include first and second strap systems for extending over first and second shoulders of a user, respectively, and each of the first and second strap systems forms a
SHOULDER BRACE
Provided is a shoulder brace having a forearm part, an upper-arm part, a torso part, an elbow-joint part, and a shoulder-joint part. The upper-arm part includes a rotary annulus to be coupled to an outside of the shoulder-joint part, the rotary annulus having line-shaped protrusions and grooves that are alternately formed along an inner circumference thereof. The shoulder-joint part includes a joint shaft, a push button provided on a first end thereof and coupled with the joint shaft, a locking ring coupled to a middle portion of the joint shaft and having line-shaped protrusions and grooves that are alternately formed along an outer circumference thereof, and a stopper formed on a second end thereof and providing space to allow the joint shaft to be movable when the push button is pushed, thus allowing a lock state to be released.
SHOULDER STABILIZATION APPARATUS AND METHODS
Various apparatus, e.g., braces or supports, and methods for stabilizing a shoulder and/or arm of a subject are provided herein. In certain variations, a shoulder stabilization apparatus includes one or more inelastic, non-stretchable and/or rigid components which restrict or limit various types of shoulder and/or arm motion, e.g., abduction. The shoulder stabilization apparatus may include various accessory straps which restrict or limit various types of shoulder and/or arm motion.
ROTATION AND ABDUCTION DEVICE FOR SHOULDER IMMOBILIZATION
Methods, systems, and apparatus regarding a Rotation & Abduction Device (RAD) for shoulder immobilization in treating shoulder instability, wherein the ability to maintain particular degrees of shoulder rotation and abduction is desired or necessary. An exemplary RAD shoulder immobilization system may include: a frame; a harness connected to the frame and including a waist support and a neck/shoulder strap; a sling connected to the frame and the harness; and a lining covering parts of the frame, the harness, and/or the sling. A method of treating a shoulder disorder may include: providing a shoulder immobilization system capable of shoulder rotation positioning adjustment and capable of shoulder abduction-adduction positioning adjustment; putting the shoulder immobilization system on a wearer; adjusting the shoulder immobilization system for shoulder rotation positioning; and adjusting the shoulder immobilization system for shoulder abduction-adduction positioning. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Orthopedic shoulder-immobilizing apparatus
A shoulder-immobilizing apparatus includes a forearm sling. The forearm sling is configured to receive an elbow, forearm and wrist of a first arm of a user and includes a first fastener configured for fastening a posterior strap to a proximal portion adjacent to the elbow, a second fastener configured for fastening an anterior strap to a distal portion adjacent to the wrist, and a contralateral strap holder. The contralateral strap holder includes a circumferential shoulder strap configured to wrap around a shoulder of a second arm of the user to form a substantially ellipsoid opening that seats against a pectoral region, a scapular region and one of an underarm region or a lateral outside portion of the shoulder of the user's second arm. The posterior and anterior straps each have swivel fasteners rotatably coupled to respective posterior and anterior portions of the circumferential shoulder strap. Related methods are also provided.
Orthopedic device and method of use
An orthopedic device can be worn by a person having a waist, a shoulder, and an arm including an upper arm and a forearm. The orthopedic device holds the arm of the person in an abducted immobilized position to promote healing. The orthopedic device includes a sling which is shaped and dimensioned to receive the arm of the person, the sling includes a shoulder strap which is positionable over the shoulder of the person. The orthopedic device also includes a belt which is shaped and dimensioned to encircle the waist of the person. An arm support for supporting the person's arm is removably connectable to the belt. The belt includes an arm support connector to which the arm support is removably and fixedly connected so that the arm support projects upwardly from the belt. The arm support is positionable to extend different heights above the belt. The sling is connectable to the arm support so that the arm of the person is abducted.

Shoulder and Arm Support
A shoulder and arm support for supporting either the left or right shoulder and arm of a patient. The support includes a case, a removable support member, and a sling which houses a shoulder strap secured thereto and a body strap secured thereto. The case houses an interior compartment in which a resilient cushion and an inflatable bladder are positioned. The case includes an outer panel which is pivotally secured to the upper panel of the case and movable between first and second positions of abduction. The inflation and deflation of a pneumatic bladder cause the outer panel to be moved continuously. The removable support member has an interior compartment which houses a resilient cushion. The exterior surface of the outer panel allows for a sling, making this shoulder and arm support customizable to the patient, position of comfort, and the phase of the rehabilitation process.
