A multi-sectional therapy wrap can include a first wrap section joined to a second wrap section through a specialized junction that allows the wrap sections to overlap. The junction can also be divided into two portions to facilitate fluid flow between one wrap section and the other wrap section.

WOUND AND THERAPY COMPRESS AND DRESSING

A method of providing moisture therapy to a subject by applying a moist therapy compress against a treated body portion. The moist therapy compress includes a fluid-permeable shell, a flexible backing fastened to the shell to define an enclosure, and a hydrophilic zeolite fill granules loosely contained within the enclosure. The therapy compress is exposed to a source of moisture to cause absorption of water into the hydrophilic zeolite, and the moisture is delivered from the hydrophilic zeolite through the fluid permeable shell to the treated body portion.

BRASSIERE INCORPORATING A HOT FLASH MITIGATION SYSTEM
20220053840 · 2022-02-24 ·

A brassiere incorporating a hot flash mitigation system for cooling the upper torso, chest and neck area of a wearer is disclosed. The brassiere comprises two front panel sections connectively engaged to each other, at least one rear panel section connectively engaged to each of the two front panel sections. The hot flash mitigation system provides a deformable reservoir for containing and dispensing a fluid therefrom. The deformable reservoir is disposed in mating and contacting engagement with the brassiere and has an outlet in cooperative fluid engagement thereto. At least one duct disposed proximate to one of the at least two front panel sections is in fluid engagement with the outlet of the deformable reservoir. At least one nozzle disposed upon an end of the duct distal from the deformable reservoir operatively conveys the fluid from the duct to the upper torso, chest and neck area of the wearer.

Devices and methods for managing insulin resistance
09744072 · 2017-08-29 · ·

Disclosed are devices and methods for mitigating insulin resistance in a human subject by contacting one or more regions of the neck, the supraclavicular, and the interscapular regions of the human subject with a part of a cooling device, wherein the part of the cooling device has a temperature at about 15 or less Celsius degrees; cooling the one or more regions of the neck, the supraclavicular, and the interscapular regions of the human subject for a cooling period of at least 15 minutes; and performing previous two steps daily for about 14 or more days. The devices and methods may also be used to preventing, delaying or treating type 2 diabetes in a human subject or activating brown fat without incurring a sympathetic nerve-mediated cold feeling in a human subject.

SELF-REGULATING HEATER
20170231811 · 2017-08-17 ·

The present invention is directed to a self regulating heater including a first layer made of a thin and flexible electrically insulating material. A second electrically conductive layer includes first and second buses spaced from each other. A third resistive layer electrically connects the first and second buses. The third layer has a higher electrical resistance than the second layer. The third layer experiences a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) effect when heated. A fourth interface layer directly connected to at least one of the second electrically conductive layer and the third resistive layer directly engages skin of a patient when the heater is attached to the patient. A combined thickness of the first layer, the second conductive layer, the third resistive layer and the fourth layer may be between 5 mil and 20 mil.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR COOLING HEAD INJURY

An apparatus and method for treating a head injury including head gear and at least one cooling medium. The cooling medium has a prolonged cooling effect to aid injured persons recovery and health after sustaining a head injury. The apparatus and method is also contemplated for use with headaches, migraines, heat and/or sun stroke, as well as persons that have suffered a stroke.

MULTI-FUNCTIONAL AIRBAG
20170319866 · 2017-11-09 ·

A multi-functional airbag comprises a main body, a front side of the main body is provided with an opening, a rear side of the main body opposite to the opening is provided with a functional cavity to install a functional assembly, a left air chamber and a right air chamber communicated with each other are symmetrically configured at two sides of the main body, and the functional assembly is installed in the functional cavity. While in use, the air chambers are inflated, as a result the main body is inflated to enable to clamp two sides of the human neck; while not in use, the air chambers are deflated to reduce the volume to make it portable. Meanwhile, massage functioning members are configured to massage the acupuncture points by vibration therapy, pulse therapy, heat therapy, infrared light therapy, and/or magnet therapy, and the therapy effect is obvious.

UPPER BODY MOUNTED COOLING DEVICE
20170266038 · 2017-09-21 ·

A personal cooling device includes a rigid ventilation tube that is curved in part to fit around the neck of a human user such that the entire device may be supported solely in this manner. A powered fan is located at one end of the ventilation tube and configured to force air through the ventilation tube. Ventilation holes are arranged to direct air leaving the ventilation tube toward a user's body. A hollow compartment is provided in the ventilation tube adjacent the fan and is configured to received a portion of ice or other frozen material as a frozen liquid-filled sponge to effect evaporative cooling of passing air.

Applicator device and related apparatus
