A garment that heats a portion of a human body during warm-up prior to athletic endeavor having a heater pad member with a size between the size of a common index card and an ordinary sheet of paper for localized penetrating heating of tissue and muscles. Heating is achieved by electrical heating of a heater pad member having a reflective metal foil on one side of the heater pad and thermally conductive PVF sheets on the opposite side. On the one hand, the metal foil reflects optical radiation toward a human body, while on the other hand, the PVF sheets direct infrared radiation into the human body. Control electronics and the heater pad are contained in separate pockets of the garment that are electrically connected together.

An exemplary medical apparatus includes a heated nasal insert, where the nasal insert is configured to heat tissue to be treated to a temperature in the range of substantially 46 C. to substantially 52 C. in use. An exemplary medical method for inducing hemostasis in tissue of a patient includes possessing a nasal insert; apposing the nasal insert to tissue of a patent; heating said nasal insert to a temperature that causes tissue of a patient to be heated to a temperature in the range of substantially 46 C. to substantially 52 C.; and maintaining the tissue of a patent treaded by said nasal insert within a temperature range of substantially 46 C. to substantially 52 C.

IMPLANTABLE THERMAL THERAPY DEVICES

Implantable thermal therapy devices, systems, and methods are provided for the treatment of pathological conditions including arrhythmias and trauma. The implantable thermal therapy devices and systems are specifically structured to deliver transient cooling to a target tissue, and to gradually dissipate the heat energy transferred from the target tissue to other body masses in a controlled and delicate manner. In some examples, a phase change material can be used to accomplish such a gradual dissipation of the heat.

HEATING KINESIOLOGY TAPE

A heating tape system includes an adhesive tape and a power supply. The adhesive tape is made of an anisotropically stretchable fabric material with a pressure sensitive adhesive fixed on one side of the fabric material, and a heating element coupled to the fabric material. A first load contact and a second load contact, both electrically coupled to the heating element and accessible from the opposite side of the fabric material, are also included on the adhesive tape. The power supply includes a source of electrical energy with a first source contact electrically coupled to one terminal of the source of electrical energy and adapted to be electrically coupled to the first load contact, and a second source contact electrically coupled to a second terminal of the source of electrical energy and adapted to be electrically coupled to the second load contact.
