Automatic darkening filter apparatus and method

Automatic darkening filters are often provided on a protective headgear, where protection from high intensity light is desired. An automatic darkening filter includes a switchable shutter, a shutter control system, a light sensor, and an imaging acquisition device. The switchable shutter is capable of assuming at least a dark state, a light state and an intermediate state.

Optical glare protection filter

An optical glare protection filter for a glare protection device includes at least one liquid-crystal cell with at least one liquid-crystal layer and at least one first electrode layer for orienting crystal molecules of the at least one liquid-crystal layer, and with at least one first contact element for electrically contacting the at least one first electrode layer. The optical glare protection filter may also include at least one second contact element for electrically contacting the at least one first electrode layer, which is substantially spaced apart from the first contact element.

WELDER PROTECTOR

A welder protector for protecting a worker includes a face shield including a first opening and a shield surface part surrounding the first opening, goggles detachably coupled to the face shield and including a window portion and a wearing portion, the window portion corresponding to the eyes of the worker, the wearing portion extending around a head of the worker, and a helmet detachably coupled to the face shield and including a second opening corresponding to the face shield.

SMART WINDOW ACTIVATION TO PREVENT LASER DISTURBANCE

Method, system and apparatus are provided for smart window activation to prevent laser disturbance. The apparatus may include a window formed of smart glass capable of being activated in discrete sections to be impenetrable to laser light and having a smart glass activation system. A sensor arrangement may detect laser light impacting on the window and may provide data as to the position of the impact on the window. A computer-implemented window protection system may receive input regarding detecting a laser beam impacting a window from the sensor arrangement, determine the position of the laser beam impact on the window and determine a section of the window in which the smart glass is to be activated, and control activation of the smart glass in the section of the window to make the section impenetrable to laser light by instructing the smart glass activation system.

Provided is a light attached to a helmet where the light does not move when a face shield of the helmet is rotated up or down.

Protection device

The invention is based on a protection device, in particular a glare-protection device, with at least one optical glare-protection filter comprising a nose cut-out, with at least one sensor unit, which is provided to capture a work state and to control, depending on this, a permeability of the glare-protection filter, with at least one shield unit, in which the at least one glare-protection filter is fixedly accommodated, and with at least one head-fastening unit for a fastening to a user's head. It is proposed that the protection device comprises at least one adjusting unit, by which a position of the at least one shield unit is implemented in such a way that it is movable with respect to the at least one head-fastening unit in a defined manner.

An Automatic Darkening Filter Assembly for a Welding Protector and a Welding Protector

An automatic darkening filter assembly for a welding protector and a welding protector that includes the automatic darkening filter assembly. The automatic darkening filter assembly has a housing that forms an opening in which a switchable light filter is arranged. The switchable light filter is retained by a first and a second resilient gasket that are arranged on opposite sides of the switchable light filter and which each extend circumferentially adjacent a periphery of the switchable light filter. The invention helps maximizing the robustness of the welding protector and facilitates assembly.

Flat Automatic Darkening Filter And Welding Protector

An automatic darkening filter for welding protection. The automatic darkening filter has a first liquid crystal cell having two flat ultrathin glass substrates. Further, a welding protector is provided that includes the automatic darkening filter. The automatic darkening filter is lightweight and nevertheless mechanically stable and durable.

Integrated Helmet Controls

A helmet comprises a shell with an integrated panel tab that is formed by cutting a pattern into the shell. The helmet further comprises an enclosure located interior to the shell and at a position that corresponds to the integrated panel tab. Within the enclosure are an electronic membrane, which is operatively coupled to the integrated panel tab, and a membrane force tab, which is operatively coupled to the electronic membrane. When pressure is applied to the integrated panel tab from the exterior of the shell (by, for example, a finger of a user), the integrated panel tab functions as a flexible actuator that presses the electronic membrane, thereby permitting control of helmet functions without any externally-protruding controls that can be inadvertently broken.
