Sensor assisted head mounted displays for welding
Sensor assisted head mounted displays for welding are disclosed. Disclosed example head mounted devices include an optical sensor, an augmented reality controller, a graphics processing unit, and a semi-transparent display. The optical sensor collects an image of a weld environment. The augmented reality controller determines a simulated object to be presented in a field of view, a position in the field of view, and a perspective of the simulated object in the field of view. The graphics processing unit renders the simulated object based on the perspective to represent the simulated object being present in the field of view and in the weld environment. The display presents the rendered simulated object within the field of view based on the position. At least a portion of the weld environment is observable through the display and the lens when the display is presenting the rendered simulated object.
RESPIRATOR DEVICE WITH LIGHT EXPOSURE DETECTION
A system including a head-mounted device having a face shield; a respirator coupled to or embodied in the head mounted device; a light having a light intensity; a light detector, and a computing device communicatively coupled to the at least one light detector that receive from the light detector data indicting a type and intensity of light, and determine that the light matches a particular type of light and whether it exceeds a threshold, and on the basis of this determination, modifies the intensity of the light.
DIGITAL DISPLAY WELDING MASK WITH LONG-EXPOSURE IMAGE CAPTURE
Welding cameras, welding helmets, welding masks, and associated display systems are described herein that utilize darkening or attenuating filters in conjunction with long-exposure imaging to capture flicker-free video of a welding process. Example embodiments include one or more of a darkening filter, an image sensor to capture long-exposure images as frames of a video, an optical image stabilization subsystem, a data storage to store video, and an electronic display to display the video. For example, captured images may be displayed on an electronic display within the welding mask without risk of overexposure of ultraviolet radiation to the operator. In some examples, dual electronic displays are used to display different images to each eye of the operator to provide a stereoscopic video feed.
Welding helmet for detecting arc data
A welding helmet for detecting arc data is provided. One embodiment of the welding helmet includes an arc detection system configured to detect one or more welding arcs that occur during one or more welding operations. The welding helmet also includes control circuitry configured to count a number of the one or more welding arcs detected by the arc detection system. The welding helmet includes a storage device configured to store the number of the one or more welding arcs.
Curved eye protection shield for welding protection
A curved eye protection shield for welding protection. The eye protection shield has an electrically switchable darkening filter and a protective cover. The darkening filter has eye facing major inner and outer surfaces, and the protective cover has major inner and outer surfaces. The protective cover is provided for arrangement on the inner surface of the darkening filter. The inner and outer surface of the darkening filter are equidistant, whereas the inner and outer surface of the protective cover are non-equidistant. The invention is advantageous in that it provides an eye protection shield having a minimized refractive power.
Integrated helmet controls
A helmet comprises a shell with an integrated panel tab that is formed by cutting a pattern into the shell. The helmet further comprises an enclosure located interior to the shell and at a position that corresponds to the integrated panel tab. Within the enclosure are an electronic membrane, which is operatively coupled to the integrated panel tab, and a membrane force tab, which is operatively coupled to the electronic membrane. When pressure is applied to the integrated panel tab from the exterior of the shell (by, for example, a finger of a user), the integrated panel tab functions as a flexible actuator that presses the electronic membrane, thereby permitting control of helmet functions without any externally-protruding controls that can be inadvertently broken.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT SYSTEM HAVING ANALYTICS ENGINE WITH INTEGRATED MONITORING, ALERTING, AND PREDICTIVE SAFETY EVENT AVOIDANCE
In some examples, a system includes an article of personal protective equipment (PPE) comprising one or more sensors, the one or more sensors configured to generate usage data that is indicative of an operation of the article of PPE; and at least one computing device comprising a memory and one or more computer processors that: receive the usage data that is indicative of the operation of the article of PPE; apply the usage data to a safety learning model that predicts a likelihood of an occurrence of a safety event associated with the article of PPE based at least in part on previously generated usage data that corresponds to the safety event; and perform, based at least in part on predicting the likelihood of the occurrence of the safety event, at least one operation.
AUTOMATIC DARKENING FILTER ASSEMBLY FOR A WELDING PROTECTOR AND A WELDING PROTECTOR
An automatic darkening filter assembly for a welding protector and a welding protector that includes the automatic darkening filter assembly. The automatic darkening filter assembly has a housing that forms an opening in which a switchable light filter is arranged. The switchable light filter is retained by a first and a second resilient gasket that are arranged on opposite sides of the switchable light filter and which each extend circumferentially adjacent a periphery of the switchable light filter. The invention helps maximizing the robustness of the welding protector and facilitates assembly.
Welding helmet having a zipper arrangement and welding helmet assembly
The present application relates to a welding helmet comprising a helmet housing and a head cover adapted to be worn on a wearer's head and made of an air-impermeable and flexible material, wherein a zipper arrangement is provided between the helmet housing and the head cover to detachably connect the head cover to the helmet housing around the whole perimeter of an opening of the helmet housing, and wherein after the head cover is connected to the helmet housing, the zipper arrangement is located within the housing of the welding helmet. The present application also relates to an assembly having the welding helmet.
Welding helmet
Provided is a welding helmet maintaining a power-on state after initial power is applied thereto, the welding helmet including: a circuit unit controlling a shutter liquid crystal display (LCD) based on at least one of whether welding light exists and an intensity of the welding light; a power supply unit supplying power to the circuit unit; and a switch unit controlling electrical connection between the circuit unit and the power supply unit, wherein after being initially switched to an on state, the switch unit maintains the on state.
