Welding protector with magnifying cover

A welding protector (1) has a curved eye protection shield (10) with an electrically switchable light filter. The welding protector further has a magnifying cover (20) for arrangement on an eye facing inner side of the eye protection shield. The magnifying cover is pre-shaped based on a curve that extends equidistant to the curve the eye protection shield is based on. Further, the magnifying cover has two optical lenses (27) which in combination only partially cover the eye protection shield.

SENSOR ASSISTED HEAD MOUNTED DISPLAYS FOR WELDING
20200337407 · 2020-10-29 ·

Sensor assisted head mounted displays for welding are disclosed. Disclosed example head mounted devices include an optical sensor, an augmented reality controller, a graphics processing unit, and a semi-transparent display. The optical sensor collects an image of a weld environment. The augmented reality controller determines a simulated object to be presented in a field of view, a position in the field of view, and a perspective of the simulated object in the field of view. The graphics processing unit renders the simulated object based on the perspective to represent the simulated object being present in the field of view and in the weld environment. The display presents the rendered simulated object within the field of view based on the position. At least a portion of the weld environment is observable through the display and the lens when the display is presenting the rendered simulated object.

AUTOMATIC DARKENING APPARATUS WITH INTEGRATED MAGNIFICATION LENS

An embodiment includes an auto-darkening apparatus for supporting welding performed by a human welder. The auto-darkening apparatus includes a housing configured to be removably installed into a welding helmet. The auto-darkening apparatus also includes an ADF lens assembly configured to transition from an un-darkened state to a darkened state in response to light from an arc being formed between a welding electrode and a work piece during a welding process. The auto-darkening apparatus further includes a magnification assembly integrated with the ADF lens assembly within the housing. The magnification assembly is configured to provide magnification of light coming through the ADF lens assembly. The magnification is continuously user-adjustable from a defined lower level of magnification to a defined upper level of magnification.

A welding helmet having a filter arrangement is disclosed. The welding helmet is provided with a main filter and at least one auxiliary filter separate from and positioned next to the main filter. The at least one auxiliary filter comprises an electro-optic element adapted to attenuate the transmission of optical radiation incident on the auxiliary filter.

A WELDING HELMET WITH A DETACHABLE WELDING VISOR
20200289323 · 2020-09-17 ·

There is provided a welding helmet having a protective shield and a welding visor. The welding visor is detachably attachable to the protective shield by means of a bayonet coupling. The bayonet coupling has a first bayonet part and a second bayonet part. The first bayonet part is rotatably connected to the welding visor for a rotation between a release position, in which the bayonet coupling is disengaged, and an engage position, in which a disengagement of the bayonet coupling is disabled. The bayonet coupling further forms a pivot for pivoting the welding visor relative to the protective shield between a welding position, in which the welding visor covers the see-through window, and a non-welding position, in which the welding visor uncovers the see-through window. A locking member is provided that is switchable between a locked position and an unlocked position.

An example head-worn device includes a camera, a display device, weld detection circuitry, and pixel data processing circuitry. The camera generates first pixel data from a field of view of the head-worn device. The display device displays second pixel data to a wearer of the head-worn device based on the first pixel data captured by the camera. The weld detection circuitry determines whether a welding arc is present and generates a control signal indicating a result of the determination. The pixel data processing circuitry processes the first pixel data captured by the camera to generate the second pixel data for display on the display device, where a mode of operation of said pixel data processing circuitry is selected from a plurality of modes based on said control signal.
