An external fixation device for body includes a front part and a back part and can be shaped according to the shape of human body. The front part includes a cavity, two layers of knitting cloth, and elastic belts. The back part includes a cavity, two layers of knitting cloth, and plackets. The lower end edge of the front part and the lower end edge of the back part are respectively provided with a filling port and the filling ports are both sewed with a hook and loop. An outer side of one of the elastic belts of the front part and an inner side of one of the plackets of the back part are respectively provided with a piece of a first fastener. An armhole width part of the front part and an armhole width part of the back part are respectively provided with a piece of a second fastener.

ORTHOPEDIC SUPPORT APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE

A support for application to a body area. The support has a network of flexible non-porous tubing interlaced at a plurality of junctions to form a lattice structure. The lattice structure includes apertures to allow for the flow of air and water to the body area. At least one liquid is contained within the network of flexible non-porous tubing and is configured to transform into a solid when acted on by an external stimulus. A padding layer is secured to an internal surface defined on the lattice structure. The padding layer further includes apertures corresponding to the lattice structure apertures such that the flow of air and water to the body area is not impeded by the padding layer.

Orthopaedic moulding arrangement and method for producing an orthopaedic moulding

A method for producing a molding, the shape of which is adapted to an initial mold, in which method a plurality of layers are deformably placed on top of one another such that the layers can be joined to each other by heat. The layers are deformed by being pressed onto the initial mold and in order to join the layers. Heat is applied in the deformed state. In the arrangement made of layers, at least one converter element is introduced that transforms supplied energy into heat energy and with which at least parts of the layers are heated to join the layers.

Adapted compression/splint orthosis for reinforcement of the calf musculoanoneurotic pump

An orthosis (10) has an elastic compressive distal portion (14), extending upwards from the ankle, associated with an adjacent rigid splint proximal portion (16), enveloping the region of the calf between the level of the point where the Achilles tendon joins the calf muscles and the level located below the tibial tuberosity. This rigid splint proximal portion (16) is an essentially non-elastic, deformable tubular portion, made by: placing the orthosis onto a template representative of the morphology of the patient's calf; applying in situ on the orthosis, in the region of the splint proximal portion, a hardenable biocompatible resin; hardening the resin with the orthosis maintained on the template; and removing the orthosis in its finished state.

ARTICLE OF MANUFACTURE PRESSURE RELIEVING PAD
20170042742 · 2017-02-16 · ·

An article of manufacture for a bony prominence under casts, splints and or other devices utilized to hold the limb in a fixed position for an extended period of time. The article consists of a pressure relieving pad from a base substrate with a predetermined design formed from a gel material with an adhesive quality. In another embodiment, the article consists of a pressure relieving pad formed from a gel material base substrate combined with a fibrous substrate with a predetermined design of the pressure relieving pad. Each article includes at least one ventilation channel cut through the base substrate and/or fibrous substrate, e.g. the ventilation channel may have a single or multiple cut incision. The ventilation channel functioning to increase the padding around the base of the prominence thereby providing extended comfort and fitting of a rigid splint, cast or other fixing device.
