Vacuum treatment array and film for producing a vacuum treatment array
The invention relates to a vacuum treatment array having at least one open-pored contact element, by way of which a negative pressure and/or suction can be generated in a body cavity, wherein the open-pored contact element is configured, at least in sections, in the manner of a tube, having an outer and/or inner boundary surface rotating around a tube axis, at least in part.
Absorbent article for application to human or animal skin surfaces
An absorbent article that includes an outer covering made of two liquid-permeable cover layers that are joined together to form a pocket, and an inner layer that is initially freely movable within the pocket. The inner layer includes a mixture of particles of a superabsorbent polymer and substances that are osmotically comparatively weaker than the particles. When the absorbent article is applied to a human or animal skin surface to cover a wound, the absorbent article exerts an osmotic pressure via which endogenous wound exudate is removed from the wound. Thus, the absorbent article assists, both in a surface region and in a tissue depth, a normal interstitial hydration of the tissue by directing the wound fluids in a direction of flow to the skin surface and into the absorbent article, and by keeping the wound fluids that flow to the skin surface in the absorbent article.
Negative pressure wound therapy dressing
A wound dressing suitable for use in negative pressure wound therapy system includes a cover layer adapted to establish a reservoir over a wound in which a negative pressure may be maintained. The cover layer includes an opening therein through which atmospheric gasses and wound exudates may pass through the cover layer. A vacuum port is affixed to the cover layer, and establishes a substantially fluid tight seal about the opening in the cover layer. The vacuum port includes a hollow interior in fluid communication with the opening in the cover layer and a connector to facilitate connection to a vacuum source. A packing member is affixed to the cover layer, to provide a wound dressing that may be applied in a single step process. The packing member is adapted to fill the wound and support the cover layer when a negative pressure is applied to the reservoir.
Particle-containing foam structure
A method of producing a hydrophilic polyurethane foam structure containing inert activated carbon particles, includes the steps of: (a) providing a water phase containing a surfactant and dispersed inert particles; (b) providing a isocyanate-terminated polyether having functionality of more than 2; (c) mixing the water phase and the isocyanate-terminated polyether, immediately transferring the resulting mixture to a mold or a continuous web, whereby a foam structure is obtained; and (d) drying the foam structure until it has a moisture content of at most 10% (wt). A foam structure produced by the method and a wound dressing containing the foam structure are also disclosed.
Wound dressing
The present invention relates to a multilayered wound dressing particularly for wound treatment in the granulation and epithelization phase. The wound dressing comprises a) a first layer as a wound contact layer having a first side and a second side, and b) at least one second layer as an absorbent layer having a first side and a second side and comprising a hydrophilic polyurethane foam, wherein the polyurethane foam comprises a water fraction of at least 10% by weight of water.
Chitosan foam medical devices and methods
The invention provides a solid foam wound dressing useful for hemorrhage control and wound repair, as well as methods for making such a wound dressing.
Devices, systems, and methods for instillation of foamed fluid with negative pressure wound therapy
Systems and methods for delivering a foamed fluid to a wound of a patient (e.g., through a wound dressing covering the wound and coupled to the skin around the wound).
DRESSINGS AND METHODS FOR TREATING A TISSUE SITE ON A PATIENT
Dressings, systems, and methods for treating a tissue site on a patient involve allowing liquids from the tissue site or a priming fluid to evaporate and exit the dressing through a liquid-impermeable, vapor-permeable membrane. The dressing is able to process more liquids than would otherwise be possible without evaporation and potentially to create reduced pressure. Other dressings, systems, and methods are disclosed.
Apparatuses and methods for negative pressure wound therapy
Disclosed herein are several embodiments of a negative pressure appliance and methods of using the same in the treatment of wounds. Some embodiments are directed to improved fluidic connectors or suction adapters for connecting to a wound site, for example using softer, kink-free conformable suction adapters.
