An apparatus, kit, and methods for forming a bead between bead-forming blocks having internal bead-forming channels are provided. The bead-forming channels of adjacent bead-forming blocks are slidably engaged to manipulate a measured amount of modeling compound between the bead-forming blocks and within an internal space between the opposing channels. In one embodiment, the bead-forming blocks maintain orientation with respect to an axis of travel based on a block guide. Further, the measured amount of modeling compound is determined using an integrated measuring feature coupled to at least one of the pair of bead-forming blocks. The internal volume of an integrated measuring feature corresponds to a threshold amount of modeling compound for manipulating between the pair of blocks and forming a bead while contacting at least a portion of the mated bead-forming channels. In further aspects, a molded bead may be coated with a multicomponent bead-coating mixture. Multi-component bead-coating mixtures and methods of using thereof are provided.

A transformable structure reconfigurable between in-line and simulative configurations. Head beading, an anterior engaging bead, anterior appendage beading, a central bead, posterior appendage beading, a posterior engaging bead, and terminal beading are connected in series. The central bead has anterior and posterior cavities, and receivable portions of the engaging beads are respectively received in the cavities when the structure is in the simulative configuration. An elastic core passes through the beading, and the transformable structure can be reconfigured between in-line and simulative configurations by a relative twisting and untwisting of the components. An anterior toroidal ring bead between the head beading and the anterior engagement bead and a posterior toroidal ring bead between the terminal beading and the posterior engaging bead facilitate selective repositioning of the head and terminal beading.

A disclosed bead bracelet loom for making a beaded item includes a clip disposed at one end of a track and configured to hold a portion of a cord. A holder is disposed on the track and spaced apart from the clip. The holder includes a key portion that engages a portion of the track to maintain a position of the holder spaced apart from the clip. The holder including a spring portion that holds a clip configured to hold an end of the cord and maintain a desired tension on the cord member between the clip and the holder.
