Advanced compression garments and systems
Advanced compression garments and their methods of use, including garments with compression applying straps, and associated sensors that are able to sense the compression applied to an underlying body tissue by the straps. Pressure and/or temperature information from the sensors may be conveyed to a wearer of the garment and/or to another party.
Arithmetic coding for information related to sample adaptive offset processing
An image coding method includes: performing context arithmetic coding to consecutively code (i) first information indicating whether or not to perform sample adaptive offset (SAO) processing for a first region of an image and (ii) second information indicating whether or not to use, in the SAO processing for the first region, information on SAO processing for a region other than the first region, the context arithmetic coding being arithmetic coding using a variable probability, the SAO processing being offset processing on a pixel value; and performing bypass arithmetic coding to code other information which is information on the SAO processing for the first region and different from the first information or the second information, after the first information and the second information are coded, the bypass arithmetic coding being arithmetic coding using a fixed probability.
Self contained wound dressing with micropump
A composite wound dressing apparatus promotes healing of a wound via the use of a micropump system housed within or above a wound dressing member. The micropump system includes a miniature pump that applies a subatmospheric pressure to the wound to effectively draw wound fluid or exudate away from the wound bed without the need for a cumbersome external vacuum source. Hence, the wound dressing and micropump system is portable which allows the patient mobility that is unavailable when an external vacuum source is used. The patient does not need to be constrained for any period of time while exudate is being removed from the wound.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING TISSUE OXYGENATION FOR WOUND HEALING AND PROMOTING TISSUE VIABILITY
A wound treatment system includes a housing that defines an oxygen outlet. An oxygen production subsystem is included in the housing and coupled to the oxygen outlet. A control subsystem is coupled to the oxygen production subsystem and configured to receive pressure information that is indicative of a pressure in a restricted airflow enclosure that is coupled to the oxygen outlet. The control subsystem then uses the pressure information to control power provided to the oxygen production subsystem in order to control an oxygen flow that is created by the oxygen production subsystem and provided through the oxygen outlet to the restricted airflow enclosure.
A CONFORMABLE PRESSURE SENSOR PAD
A conformable pressure sensor pad 109 comprising: a sensor arrangement 130 comprising a central column 10 of segments and outer columns 11 of segments, wherein the segments in the outermost columns are tapered outwardly, and wherein a pressure-sensitive sensor 22 is mounted in a plurality of the segments in the central column; and a conformable pad 110 including a plurality of pouches 62, the pouches 62 being in fluid communication with each other, each segment 10, 11 of the sensor arrangement 130 being positioned on a respective pouch 62, the plurality of pouches 62 being shaped to be positioned between a respective segment 10, 11 and the skin surface of a patient in use.
Wound treatment device
A method of wound treatment can comprise providing a wound treatment device with a wound surface cover and a wound insert. The method can also include positioning the wound insert in contact with the wound, covering the wound insert and wound with the wound surface cover, affixing the wound surface cover to the skin surrounding the wound and compressing the wound insert by applying pressure to the wound surface cover.
