A wound dressing assembly includes a wound cover and a carrier. The wound cover has a length and width substantially greater than a height (or thickness), a first major surface, and a second major surface, opposite the first. The first major surface has disposed thereon a wound cover pressure sensitive adhesive comprising a colloidal absorbent, and it is arranged and configured to adhere to mammalian skin during use. The carrier has a length and width substantially greater than a height (or thickness), a first major surface, and a second major surface, opposite the first. The first major surface of the carrier is disposed in facing relation and is removably attached to the second major surface of the wound cover, and it has disposed thereon at least one pressure sensitive adhesive. After application of the wound cover to skin for use, the carrier is removable from the wound cover to leave the wound cover adhered to the skin.

A two-stage wound dressing assembly includes a wound cover and a carrier. The first major surface has disposed thereon a wound cover pressure sensitive adhesive comprising a colloidal absorbent, and it is arranged and configured to adhere to mammalian skin during use. The carrier has a length and width substantially greater than a height (or thickness), a first major surface, and a second major surface, opposite the first. The carrier is formed of a foamed polymeric web having a height of between about 200 and about 500 m. The first major surface of the carrier is disposed in facing relation and is removably attached to the second major surface of the wound cover, and it has disposed thereon at least one pressure sensitive adhesive. After application of the wound cover to skin for use, the carrier is removable from the wound cover to leave the wound cover adhered to the skin.

The outer layer is attached on the waterproof and moisture-permeable layer. The outer layer has a left wrapper and a right wrapper which are adjacent to each other. The release layer includes a first release film and a second release film. The first release film includes a release part attached on a side of the adhesive gel layer and a connecting part extending from the release part of the first release film and folded away from the adhesive gel layer. The second release film is attached on a part of the adhesive gel layer and covers a part of the connecting part of the first release film.

A medical dressing having a multilayer assembly is described. The dressing includes a polyurethane film layer that is adhesively secured over a wound or other location on a user's skin. Also described are label strips that can be incorporated into the dressing. The label strips can include text, indicia, logos, or other markings which are applied to the strip prior to or after application of the dressing. A perforated single panel liner is utilized which covers the adhesive face of the film layer. The single panel liner includes a line of perforations extending across the liner.

In an alternate embodiment, the device is multi-segmented and the wound closure strip may be coextensive with the release liner assembly.

Quick-release adhesive tapes

Methods and compositions for securing to and removing adhesive tapes from substrates, e.g., delicate substrates such as skin, are described. The methods include providing an adhesive tape comprising an adhesive layer and a support layer in contact with the adhesive layer. A first adhesion level between the adhesive layer and the support layer is, or can be controlled to be, less than a second adhesion level between the adhesive layer and the substrate. The methods further include applying the adhesive tape to the substrate by contacting the adhesive layer to the substrate while the support layer remains in contact with the adhesive layer; and removing the support layer from the substrate by separating the support layer from the adhesive layer.

MEDICAL TAPE

Medical tape suitable to be adhered onto a skin wound for healing of the skin wound or onto a scar for suppressing a thickening, an expansion and an extension of the scar after healing of the wound. The medical tape includes a flexible and stretchable substrate consisting of a plastic film or foil; a release paper which is adhered to one side of the substrate via a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer; and a peelable support consisting of two sheets of plastic films which are adhered to another side of the substrate via a silicone-coating layer and a slightly adhesive layer, in that order. The two sheets of plastic films are butted with each other at the midpoint of a longitudinal direction of the substrate, and over a widthwise direction of the substrate. The medical tape advantageously applies a shrinking force only to a wound surface or a scar surface.
