Shaped nonwoven
A nonwoven fabric. The nonwoven fabric can include a first surface and a second surface and a visually discernible pattern of three-dimensional features on one of the first or second surface. Each of the three-dimensional features can define a microzone comprising a first region and a second region. The first and second regions can have a difference in values for an intensive property, and wherein in at least one of the microzones, the first region is hydrophobic and the second region is hydrophilic.
ABSORBENT ARTICLES AND METHODS OF MAKING
An absorbent article comprising an absorbent core sandwiched between a liquid permeable topsheet and a liquid impermeable backsheet, wherein the absorbent core comprises absorbent material selected from the group consisting of cellulose fibers, superabsorbent polymers and combinations thereof, wherein said absorbent material is contained within at least one core wrap substrate enclosing said absorbent material, and wherein a top layer of said core wrap is adhered to a bottom layer of said core wrap to form one or more channels substantially free of said absorbent material, wherein said channels have a length extending along a longitudinal axis and the absorbent core has a length extending along said longitudinal axis and wherein the length of said channels is from 10% to 95% of the length of said absorbent core such that each said channels are surrounded by absorbent material wherein said top layer of the core wrap is in direct contact with the topsheet, and wherein said top layer of the core wrap comprises a spunbond nonwoven or a carded thermobonded nonwoven.

An absorbent article wherein an upper auxiliary layer of an absorber includes a super absorbent nonwoven fabric having a surface exposed on an uppermost surface of the absorber and having a Klemm water absorptiveness of 100 mm or more, and first super absorbent polymer particles adjacent to a back surface of the super absorbent nonwoven fabric; a main absorption layer of the absorber is a cell absorbing sheet having second super absorbent polymer particles contained in cells arranged at intervals; the first super absorbent polymer particles are fixed to an upper surface of an upper sheet of the main absorption layer with an adhesive; the upper sheet is formed of a short fiber nonwoven fabric and has a larger amount of fuzz on the upper surface thereof than a lower surface thereof; and the adhesive is applied in an intermittent pattern at an application rate of 4 to 10 g/m.sup.2.

An absorbent hygienic article for absorbing body fluids, the article including a liquid permeable topsheet, a backing layer and an absorbent core arranged between the topsheet and the backing layer, the topsheet and the backing layer being made from roll materials. The topsheet or an absorbent layer in the absorbent core is constituted by a cellulosic fibrous web, the fibres in the cellulosic fibrous web being constituted by a mixture of cellulose fibres including regenerated cellulose fibres or natural cellulose staple fibres and cellulose pulp fibres, the cellulosic fibrous web being a foam-formed, hydroentangled fibrous web.
ABSORBENT ARTICLES HAVING APERTURED, THREE-DIMENSIONAL MATERIALS AND METHODS FOR MAKING SAME
A forming apparatus for forming a plurality of apertures in a nonwoven substrate is provided. The apparatus includes intermeshing members having a first and second member. The first member includes a body portion and a plurality of conical-shaped pins. The plurality of conical-shaped pins each have a first section having a first wall extending from a base portion to a distal portion, at least a portion of the first wall disposed at a first angle greater than 17.5 degrees relative to a central axis. The plurality of conical-shaped pins each have a second section having a second wall extending from a base portion, the base portion extending from the first member body portion, at least a portion of the second wall disposed at a second angle relative to the central axis of each conical-shaped pin, the second angle being different than the first angle and less than 20 degrees.
WASHABLE ABSORBENT GARMENT
A washable absorbent garment comprising a back layer, a washable absorbent core, and a top layer which covers the washable absorbent core, wherein the top layer and the washable absorbent core are permanently fixed by ultrasonic, or mechanical welding and/or by glue in a crotch section of the back layer.

The backsheet has a barrier layer having a maximum length, L.sub.BS. The absorbent core has absorbent material and a maximum length, L.sub.CW, and wherein L.sub.CW is substantially the same as L.sub.BS. The absorbent material is disposed in an absorbent material deposition area. The absorbent material deposition area has a maximum length, L.sub.AB, wherein L.sub.AB is about 90% or greater of L.sub.BS. The first absorbent area lateral edge is disposed a longitudinal distance, D1, from the first barrier lateral edge, wherein D1 is 5% or less of L.sub.BS.
Absorbent article with an ear portion
An absorbent article includes a first waist region, a second waist region, and a crotch region disposed between the first and second waist regions. The article further includes a chassis comprising a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and backsheet; and an ear. The ear includes a laminate having a first nonwoven and second nonwoven and an elastomeric material sandwiched between said first and second nonwovens. The laminate comprises a plurality of ultrasonic bonds. The ear also has a first inelastic region and an elastic region. The ear is joined to the chassis in the first inelastic region, and a fastening system is joined to the ear in the elastic region.
Methods and apparatuses for making elastomeric laminates with elastic strands provided with a spin finish
The present disclosure relates to methods for making elastomeric laminates that may be used as components of absorbent articles. The methods and apparatuses may be configured with a plurality of elastic strands wound onto a beam, wherein one or more elastic strands comprises a spin finish. During assembly of an elastomeric laminate, the beam is rotated to unwind the elastic strands from the beam. A portion of the spin finish may be removed from the advancing elastic strand with a spin finish removal apparatus. The spin finish removal apparatus may be configured to apply detergent to an advancing elastic strand and may also wipe and/or dry the advancing elastic strand. The treated stretched elastic strand may then be connected between a first substrate and a second substrate. In some configurations, adhesive may be applied to the treated the elastic strand, the first substrate, and/or the second substrate.

An absorbent hygienic article for absorbing body fluids, the article including a liquid absorbent top layer and a backing layer, the top layer and the backing layer being made from roll materials and being joined together. The top layer is constituted by a cellulosic fibrous web, the fibres in the cellulosic fibrous web being constituted by a mixture of cellulose fibres, the mixture including regenerated cellulose fibres or natural cellulose staple fibres and cellulose pulp fibres, the cellulosic fibrous web being a foam-formed, hydroentangled cellulosic fibrous web.
