The absorbent article having a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core structure having one or more layers wherein at least one layer is a heterogeneous mass layer, wherein the topsheet and the heterogeneous mass are integrated such that they reside in the same X-Y plane.
Absorbent article having fluid flow control member
An absorbent article, the absorbent article being a personal hygiene article, comprising a liquid permeable top sheet, a liquid impermeable back sheet, and an absorbent core enclosed between the top sheet and the back sheet, and a fluid flow control member arranged between the top sheet and the backsheet, said fluid flow control member being of a nonwoven material comprising a three dimensional network of fibres, said fibres having a thickness of 200-700 μm, said nonwoven material having a strain of max 50% at 5 kPa.
METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR MAKING ELASTOMERIC LAMINATES WITH ELASTIC STRANDS PROVIDED WITH A SPIN FINISH
The present disclosure relates to methods for making elastomeric laminates that may be used as components of absorbent articles. The elastomeric laminates may include a first substrate, a second substrate, and an elastic material located between the first and second substrates. During assembly of an elastomeric laminate, a beam is rotated to unwind the elastic strands from the beam, wherein the strands may include a spin finish. First bonds are applied to bond discrete lengths of the stretched elastic strands with and between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the discrete first bonds are arranged intermittently along the machine direction. In addition, second bonds are applied between consecutive first bonds to bond the first and second substrates directly to each other, wherein the second bonds extend in the machine direction and may be separated from each other in a cross direction by at least one elastic strand.
DISPOSABLE ABSORBENT ARTICLE COMPRISING A CORE WITH MULTIPLE LAMINATES
Disposable absorbent articles suitable for providing leakage protection for users that experience relatively small to relatively large discharges of fluids are described. The article includes a primary topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent system disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent system includes a first absorbent core and a second absorbent core, and wherein the primary topsheet and at least the first absorbent core include a plurality of recessed areas.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ABSORBENT ARTICLE
An absorbent article includes a liquid-permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet and an absorbent core positioned intermediate the liquid permeable topsheet and the liquid impermeable backsheet, each layer having a skin-facing side, the absorbent article being arranged along a longitudinal axis and a transversal axis extending in a perpendicular direction in relation to the longitudinal axis, and the absorbent article defining a front portion having a front edge, a back portion having a back edge and a crotch portion intermediate the front portion and the back portion, wherein the back portion of the absorbent article further includes a transversally extending capture layer, wherein the capture layer includes an outboard transversal edge facing the back edge and two longitudinal edges being sealed to any part of the absorbent article, wherein the capture layer further includes an inboard transversal edge facing the front edge, the inboard transversal edge being unsealed for gathering of feces, wherein the capture layer is positioned to at least partially cover the skin-facing side of the topsheet, wherein the absorbent core includes at least one thickness, wherein at least the back portion of the absorbent article further includes at least one centrally oriented zone in the absorbent core, the zone being at least partially recessed, resulting in the zone having a generally lower thickness in relation to the thickness of surrounding parts of the absorbent core.
Absorbent article with an absorbent system having an opening
An absorbent article can have a top sheet layer, a back sheet layer, and an absorbent system positioned between the top sheet layer and the back sheet layer. The absorbent system can have at least a fluid intake layer, an absorbent core, and a distribution layer. The fluid intake layer can define a fluid intake layer opening and the absorbent core can define an absorbent core opening. A void space is present between the top sheet layer and the distribution layer and the top sheet layer is maintained in a spaced apart relationship from the distribution layer.
ABSORBENT PADS AND GARMENTS
A pad for a garment includes a body and capping. The body has a front, a rear and a periphery and includes one or more absorbent layers for absorbing liquid and a gas-permeable barrier overlying the one or more absorbent layers to block the liquid. The capping runs along and caps at least a portion of the periphery to block the liquid. The capping has a front portion overlying the front, a rear portion overlying the rear, and a mounting portion, projecting away from the body, for mounting the pad.
