Disposable absorbent articles suitable for providing leakage protection for users that experience relatively small to relatively large discharges of fluids wherein the article comprises a chassis which comprises a primary topsheet; a backsheet; an absorbent core having a front end portion, a central portion, and a rear end portion along its length, the core being disposed between the primary topsheet and the backsheet, and wherein the core comprises 1) a first laminate which includes a first superabsorbent layer disposed onto a first distribution layer and 2) a second laminate which includes a second distribution layer joined to a second superabsorbent layer; wherein the first distribution layer is joined to the second distribution layer in an offset manner along the length of the core such that a central portion of the core is formed from an overlapping joinder of the first and second laminates.

Discreet Disposable Absorbent Article

Disposable absorbent articles suitable for providing leakage protection for users that experience relatively small to relatively large discharges of fluids wherein the article comprises a chassis which comprises a primary topsheet; a backsheet; an absorbent core having a front end portion, a central portion, and a rear end portion along its length, the core being disposed between the primary topsheet and the backsheet, and the article exhibits an article length of from about 371 mm to about 500 mm according to the Article Length Method; a dry pad thickness of between about 4.6 mm to about 12 mm according to a Pad Thickness Method; and an Energy of Recovery at a load of 30 ml of from about 4 mJ to about 11 mJ according to a Bunch Compression Method.

Absorbent articles and methods of making

Described herein are absorbent articles and methods of making such articles. The articles are made by bonding a copolymer onto a substrate to form a core. The absorbent articles are particularly useful in personal care product, e.g., disposable hygiene products.

FOLDED ABSORBENT ARTICLE

A folded absorbent article includes an absorbent core sandwiched between a liquid-permeable topsheet and a liquid-impermeable backsheet. The absorbent article defines, in an unfolded and planar state, a longitudinal center line and a transverse center line. Each transverse side of the absorbent article is folded along a respective longitudinal fold line, such that each of first and second transversely opposed side edges are folded onto a topsheet surface of the absorbent article thereby forming a firstly folded absorbent article. The firstly folded absorbent article is thereafter folded along a first transverse fold line located in the region of the transverse center line thereby forming a secondly folded absorbent article. Finally, the secondly folded absorbent article is folded along a second transverse fold line located approximately in the middle between the transverse center line and a waist edge thereby forming a thirdly folded absorbent article.

Absorbent articles with biocompostable properties

Disclosed is an absorbent article with biocompostable properties, such as a baby diaper or adult incontinence product. Particularly, the present invention is directed to a biocompostable absorbent sanitary article including a blend of synthetic and bio-based superabsorbent polymers with a high degree of biocompostability. The sanitary article comprises, in one embodiment, at least a top layer, a back layer, and absorbent core, wherein the absorbent core includes a superabsorbent polymer, and wherein at least the superabsorbent polymer is biocompostable.

ABSORBENT CORE HAVING SWELLING CHAMBER

An absorbent article includes a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, an absorbent core being disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, wherein the absorbent core include san absorbent material disposed in an absorbent deposition area and enclosed in a core wrap. The core further includes a swelling chamber disposed in between two external zones. The absorbent material comprises superabsorbent polymer. One or more permanent seals separate the chamber from each of the two external zones. The swelling chamber consists of absorbent material immobilized by water-responsive bonds, wherein said water-responsive bonds deteriorate upon exposure to water such that the absorbent material is flowable in the wet state; and the two external zones comprise absorbent material that is immobilized by thermoplastic adhesive, such that the absorbent material is immobilized in the wet state.

PORTABLE URINAL

A portable urinal includes: a moisture solidification layer containing a super absorbent polymer; and a plate-shaped support member supporting the moisture solidification layer and having a hollow portion; and a shape retaining wire retaining the plate-shaped support member in the form of an alphabet “C”, wherein the shape retaining wire has a single closed curve in the form of covering the plate-shaped support member and is provided along the edge of the plate-shaped support member.

Absorbent article having improved absorption properties

An absorbent article such as disposable diaper, training pant, and adult incontinence undergarment comprising superabsorbent polymer particles able to absorb and contain body exudates having improved absorption properties and, therefore, reduce leakage, especially at the first gush, i.e. when the article starts to be wetted.

Process for making an absorbent article comprising a topsheet/acquisition layer laminate

A process of making an absorbent article is disclosed. A liquid permeable topsheet web extending substantially continuously in a machine direction a backsheet web, and an intermediate layer are provided. The topsheet web has first and second surfaces. The backsheet web extends substantially continuously in the machine direction. The intermediate layer has a first and second surface. The topsheet and intermediate layer are aligned in a face to face relationship such that the second surface of the topsheet in in contact with the first surface of the intermediate layer and simultaneously mechanically deformed which combines the topsheet with the intermediate layer. The topsheet web and intermediate layer are nested together such that a majority of the three-dimensional protrusions formed in the topsheet web coincide with and fit together with a majority of the three-dimensional protrusions formed in the intermediate layer to provide a topsheet/intermediate layer laminate web having three-dimensional protrusions.
