Article with tackifier-free adhesive
Disposable absorbent articles assembled from a collection of components using an adhesive consisting essentially of an amorphous polyolefin composition comprising more than 40% 1-butene and a second amorphous polymer comprising at least one butene monomer, the polymer having a molecular weight (MW.sub.n) of at least 1000, wherein the polymer is compatible with the polyolefin.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE COMPRISING A LOTION RESISTANT POLYMERIC FILLER COMPOSITION
Described herein is an absorbent article including (a) an absorbent core, a first nonwoven material, a second nonwoven material, and a bond area; and (b) a polymeric filler composition disposed within the bond area. The polymeric filler composition has less than 1% of a tackifier. The polymeric filler composition is chosen from a propylene butene copolymer, a polypropylene homopolymer, a propylene ethylene copolymer, and mixtures thereof. The polymeric filler composition has a Tensile Strength at Yield of from about 0.5 MPa to about 10 MPa. The bond area has a Peak Peel Strength of from about 0.1 N/cm to about 9 N/cm after exposure to a skin-protecting material for 24 hours.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH POLYMERIC FILLER COMPOSITION
An absorbent article comprising a first nonwoven material joined to a second nonwoven material by at least one bond area, wherein a polymeric filler composition is disposed within the bond area and the composition comprises at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of polypropylene homopolymers, propylene-ethylene copolymers, and mixtures thereof, wherein the composition is substantially free of tackifiers. It was found that such polymer filler compositions having a Toughness of at least 25 MPa, as measured according to the Extensional Test Method described herein, provide bonds with good resistance to peel creep force.
Absorbent article with tackifier-free adhesive
Disposable absorbent articles assembled from a collection of components using an adhesive composition is disclosed. The adhesive composition comprises at least 90 wt. % of a copolymer, wherein the copolymer comprises from about 30 mole % to about 70 mole % of propene monomer units and from about 30 mole % to about 75 mole % of 1-butene monomer units. The adhesive composition is free of a heterophase copolymer.
HYGIENE ADHESIVE
A hygiene product is provided having a waterproof layer with a perimeter and an adhesive strip disposed around the perimeter of the waterproof layer. The adhesive strip has a body-facing side and an air-facing side, wherein the body-facing side has an adhesive material that is configured to adhere to a user's body and the air-facing side has an adhesive material that is configured to adhere to the perimeter of the waterproof layer. The hygiene product also includes a pull tab attached to the waterproof layer, wherein the pull tab is configured to detach at least a portion of the waterproof layer from the adhesive strip to define an opening through the adhesive strip and the waterproof layer is re-attachable to the adhesive strip after the at least a portion of the waterproof layer is detached from the adhesive strip.
Front or rear opening closed-sided absorbent articles
Absorbent articles with front and rear opening features are disclosed. An article may comprise an insert comprising an outer cover, a liner, and a core between the outer cover and liner, a first waist panel coupled to the insert throughout a first attachment region, and a second waist panel coupled to the insert throughout a second attachment region, the second panel being coupled to the first panel proximate a first side edge of the article and the second side edge of the article and further comprising a weakened region. The second attachment may comprise a low-strength attachment zone and a high-strength attachment zone, the high-strength attachment zone disposed proximate the attachment region bottom edge. The low-strength attachment zone may further have a first peel strength and the high-strength attachment zone may have a second peel strength, the second peel strength greater than the first.
Disposable Absorbent Articles
A disposable absorbent article having a longitudinal centerline and a lateral centerline generally perpendicular to the longitudinal centerline is described herein. The disposable absorbent article has a topsheet; a backsheet; and an absorbent system disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent system has a first and second absorbent core configured such that there is an overlap between the first and second absorbent core and a pair of outboard distances for the first and second absorbent cores.
Folded Disposable Absorbent Articles
Disposable absorbent articles are disclosed herein having a first and second fold line. The disposable absorbent articles have a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent system disposed therebetween. The absorbent system has a first absorbent core and a second absorbent core which may be configured in an offset manner. And, the absorbent system and/or the first and second fold lines may be configured with respect to the absorbent article to effect a caliper change in the folded article.
Hot melt adhesive
A hot melt adhesive material and articles made using the hot melt adhesive to assemble structures in an article. The adhesive material typically is manufactured by blending amorphous polymer with a compatible amorphous polymer.
