Sheet-shaped object and method for producing sheet-shaped object
A sheet-like article (1) for an absorbent article of the invention includes a plurality of absorbent units (4), each including: a long base portion (2); and water-absorbent polymer particles (3) that are fixed to a surface of first side of the long base portion (2). In the sheet-like article (1), the absorbent units (4) are arranged such that the longitudinal direction thereof is oriented in one direction. When the water-absorbent polymer particles (3) absorb a liquid, the water-absorbent polymer particles (3) swell beyond the lateral side edge portions (2s), of the long base portion (2), that extend along the longitudinal direction, and a position, in the thickness direction, of each long base portion is varied from the position thereof before absorbing the liquid.
Disposable undergarment and method for manufacturing disposable undergarment
A crotch member of a disposable under garment is joined to central portions of a symmetrical ventral member and a symmetrical dorsal member. A crotch side edge of the ventral member includes a recessed line symmetrically recessed toward a waist side edge between a center line and left and right end portions of the ventral member. The recessed line includes bottom portions each closest to the waist side edge located at a position closer to the left and right end portions than the center line. A crotch side edge of the dorsal member include a protruding line symmetrically protruding away from a waist side edge between a centerline and left and right end portions of the dorsal member. The protruding line includes top portions farthest away from the waist side edge located at a position closer to the centerline than the left and right end portions.
Systems and methods for cutting or perforating a web material
Systems and methods utilizing stationary and/or moveable cutting components provide limited interference with web processing operations, such as pad spin and pitch alteration. Heat, laser, fluid, or mechanical cutting operations may be used, including respectively, a heated element (e.g., wire, ribbon, bar, or embossing or perforating element) that may be triggered inductively, water or steam jets, or improved knife/anvil cooperation.
Method and apparatus for assembling absorbent articles
The present disclosure relates to methods for assembling elastic laminates that may be used to make absorbent article components. Particular aspects of the present disclosure involve a spreader mechanism operating to activate an elastic material by stretching the elastic material in to a first elongation. The elastic material is then consolidated to a second elongation, wherein the second the elongation is less than the first elongation. The consolidated elastic material is then joined to one or more substrates. In some configurations, the substrates may be nonwovens, and the elastic material may be an elastic film and/or an elastic laminate.
Absorbent cores and apparatus and methods for producing absorbent cores
A pulpless core is provided with flexibility for superabsorbent expansion by using elastic strands stretched and coupled to a nonwoven layer, and then relaxed partially to create receiving valleys (puckers) and the puckers are provided with superabsorbent polymer, and then a layer of nonwoven or acquisition film can be coupled on top of nonwoven/elastic/sap carrier layers to create an absorbent core laminate. A tubular core can be created and placed into a product with or without additional absorbent material between adjacent tubular members. A printed back sheet corresponding to either the tubular core shape, or void spaces between tubular members can be provide. A forming drum pocket can be profiled to match tube or tube shaped zones and elastic placements between adjacent tubes, if desired.
Methods of making elastic belts for absorbent articles
The present disclosure is directed to methods of manufacturing elastic belts for absorbent articles. The elastic belts may be used as waist bands, or portions thereof, in absorbent articles. The elastic belts may define a first nonwoven substrate, a second nonwoven substrate, and a plurality of elastic strands positioned intermediate the first and second nonwoven substrates. The elastic belts may define a plurality of apertures therethrough to create breathability in the elastic belts.
Method and Apparatus for Inkjet Printing Absorbent Article Components
The present disclosure relates to methods for printing absorbent article substrates. Printing systems herein may include a first printhead and a second printhead, wherein a substrate advances under the first and second printheads. The first printhead ejects ink onto the substrate to define a first printed zone, and the second printhead ejects ink onto the substrate to define a second printed zone. The first printed zone and the second printed zone together define a printed region. The first and second printed zones may be coterminous along respective edges to define a print stitch line extending in the machine direction. The substrate may then be manipulated proximate the print stitch line during a manufacturing process. Positioning the print stitch line proximate a region subject to manipulation may help hide and/or obscure the print stitch line from view. In turn, noticeable visible results of imprecise and/or inconsistent printing operations may be reduced.
PET DIAPER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
A pet diaper extending in a lateral direction along a waist of a pet and in a longitudinal direction from a ventral side to a dorsal side of the pet, the lateral direction being orthogonal to the longitudinal direction, and the pet diaper including: a main body including an absorbent core and a tail hole configured to pass feces of the pet; and a first elastic string attached to the main body in a stretched state and extending at least from a ventral-side edge of the tail hole and a dorsal-side edge of the absorbent core in the longitudinal direction.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING AN EXUDATE MANAGEMENT LAYER FOR USE IN AN ABSORBENT ARTICLE
An absorbent article can have a topsheet layer, a liquid impermeable layer, and an absorbent core positioned between the topsheet layer and the liquid impermeable layer. The absorbent article can further include an exudate management layer in fluid communication with the topsheet layer. In various embodiments, the exudate management layer can be positioned on a body facing surface of the topsheet layer. In various embodiments, the exudate management layer can be positioned between the topsheet layer and the absorbent core. The exudate management layer has a first component which defines an opening for direct passage of body exudates into the absorbent core. The exudate management layer has a second component which at least partially overlaps the first component of the exudate management layer and further extends in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article in a direction towards the posterior region of the absorbent article.
Unitary absorbent structures comprising an absorbent core and/or an acquisition and dispersion layer for absorbent articles
The present invention relates to a unitary absorbent structure and method thereof wherein said unitary absorbent structure comprises an absorbent core (5) and/or an acquisition and dispersion layers (2) (3) and comprising at least one non-woven fibrous substrate layer (23) having a void volume suitable to be penetrated by super absorbent particles. The super absorbent particles are dispersed in the substrate layer (23) according to a size distribution gradient by vacuum (8) and vibration along the depth direction or z-direction of said absorbent core (5) and/or acquisition (2) and dispersion (3) layers, the smaller particles are placed on the bodyside of the absorbent articles and the larger particles are located on the opposite side of the absorbent articles.
