The present disclosure relates to methods for printing absorbent article substrates. Printing systems herein may include a first printhead and a second printhead, wherein a substrate advances under the first and second printheads. The first printhead ejects ink onto the substrate to define a first printed zone, and the second printhead ejects ink onto the substrate to define a second printed zone. The first printed zone and the second printed zone together define a printed region. The first and second printed zones may be coterminous along respective edges to define a print stitch line extending in the machine direction. The substrate may then be manipulated proximate the print stitch line during a manufacturing process. Positioning the print stitch line proximate a region subject to manipulation may help hide and/or obscure the print stitch line from view. In turn, noticeable visible results of imprecise and/or inconsistent printing operations may be reduced.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ASSEMBLING ABSORBENT ARTICLES
20230157900 · 2023-05-25 ·

The present disclosure relates to assembling elastic laminates that may be used to make absorbent article components. Methods herein may include an anvil adapted to rotate about an axis of rotation, wherein first and second spreader mechanisms adjacent the anvil roll are axially and angularly displaced from each other with respect to the axis of rotation. During the assembly process, a substrate may be advanced in a machine direction onto the rotating anvil. The first spreader mechanism stretches a first elastic material in the cross direction, and the second spreader mechanism stretches a second elastic material in the cross direction. The stretched first and second elastic materials advance from the spreader mechanisms and onto the substrate on the anvil roll. The combined and elastic materials may then be ultrasonically bonded together on the anvil to form at least one elastic laminate.

Feminine hygiene article

Feminine hygiene articles are disclosed herein. The feminine hygiene articles described herein can provide easily discernable placement and orientation guides which reduce the likelihood of misapplication by the user, facilitated attachment guides which can reduce the likelihood of misapplication of the feminine pad and can also reduce the likelihood of improper attachment of the feminine pad to a panty. The feminine hygiene articles disclosed include wings which can provide cues on proper attachment of the article to the panty, and wing adhesive distributed in a way which can provide sustained coverage of the feminine hygiene article to the panty which reduces the likelihood that the pad will become detached during use.

WEARABLE ARTICLE MANUFACTURING METHOD AND WEARABLE ARTICLE MANUFACTURED THEREWITH
20230355446 · 2023-11-09 ·

This wearable article manufacturing method involves: a sheet preparation step in which an elastic sheet for forming a front abdominal part and a back part is prepared; a sheet weakening step in which the elasticity of the elastic sheet is weakened in a front weakening region, and in a rear weakening region; and an absorbent body connection step in which the front part of the absorbent body is connected to the front connection region of the elastic sheet, and the rear part of the absorbent body is connected to the rear connection region of the elastic sheet. The sheet weakening step is carried out simultaneously for the front weakening region and the rear weakening region.

Tape-type absorbent article with belt structure

A method for providing successive individual combination belt structures each comprising a fastening component includes providing a machine-direction continuous strip of web material having a pair of machine-direction outer side edges, opposing side margin portions, and a cross-direction width therebetween. The web material is conveyed along the machine direction to fastening component process equipment to continuously affix successive fastening components to the web material. The web material is conveyed to cross-direction cutting equipment to cut individual combination front belt structures from the web material along predominately cross-direction cut lines.

Absorbent article having a waist gasketing element

The present disclosure relates to absorbent articles having a waist gasketing element, with the gasketing element having an adhesive zone and one or more adhesive-free zones. At least a portion of the waist gasketing element is adhesively attached to a chassis of the absorbent article. Additionally, a portion of the waist gasketing element is mechanically attached to a portion of the absorbent article. The bio-based content of the absorbent article is from about 5% to about 100% using ASTM D6866-10, method B.

Method for producing absorbent sanitary articles with side panels
20230338199 · 2023-10-26 ·

A method for producing absorbent sanitary articles having a central body, first and second side panels extending laterally outwardly of the central body, and at least one extension band having a distal edge to which at least one closing element is fixed.

DISPOSABLE HYGIENIC ARTICLE WITH MEANS FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING
20220323261 · 2022-10-13 ·

A disposable, wearable article can be used for collecting a sample and performing urinalysis. The article incorporates a test port feature to simplify this function. The test port has a resealable cover that can be used to selectively expose an aperture through the backsheet of the disposable article. The test port is used to position test devices, such as urine test strips to urine collected in the disposable article.

Method of manufacturing an absorbent article having fully encircling bodyside and garment-side waistband

A method for manufacturing absorbent articles comprises delivering a continuous web assembly including a backsheet material, a liquid permeable bodyside liner material, and an absorbent structure interposed between the backsheet material and the bodyside liner material, the web assembly having a body-facing side and a garment-facing side; attaching a discrete segment of first waist elastic material to the body-facing side of the web assembly; attaching a discrete segment of second waist elastic material to the garment-facing side of the web assembly such that the web assembly is interposed between the discrete segments of first and second waist elastic materials; and cutting the web assembly to form a plurality of absorbent articles.
