Method for producing a perforated web and product for a sanitary absorbent article thereof

A method for producing a low density perforated web material having a thickness of at least 0.20 mm, comprising the steps of: providing a layer of low density material having a maximum overall weight per square meter of 75 g/m.sup.2 or less; and processing the low density material between two rollers pressing onto each other to obtain a low density perforated web material, wherein a first roller has protrusions to perforate the low density material, and a second roller rotates at a different speed from that of the first roller and has projecting parts with contact areas arranged to perforate the material with the protrusions, the contact areas being spaced by recesses to receive the material and having larger contact face dimensions than the protrusions, the recesses leaving an impression in relief on the low density polymer material.

SHAPED SHEET MANUFACTURING METHOD

In a shaped sheet manufacturing method, it is possible to reliably shape a first sheet even if the tension of the first sheet is reduced at the time of manufacturing the shaped sheet. In a first step, a first sheet is conveyed along an outer peripheral surface of a first roll having a plurality of recessed parts. In a second step, a second sheet is overlapped with the first sheet and conveyed together with the first sheet so that the first and second sheets are held between the recessed parts of the first roll and projection parts of a second roll. In a third step, the first and second sheets having passed between the first roll and the second roll are bonded to each other. In the second step, the tension of the first sheet is made smaller than the tension of the second sheet.

ABSORBENT CORE COVER FOR SUPER-ABSORBING ABSORBENT CORES OF SANITARY PRODUCTS
20220023116 · 2022-01-27 ·

The present invention relates to an absorbent core for sanitary products with an absorption matrix which comprises a high proportion of super-absorbing particles, and an absorbent core cover for enveloping the absorption matrix, wherein the absorbent core cover comprises at least one upper side sheet and one bottom side sheet, and the absorbent core cover comprises at least one connection region spaced apart from the edge of the absorbent core in which the upper side sheet and the bottom side sheet are connected to each other. Here, at least the upper side sheet of the absorbent core cover is embodied as a fleece composite with a fixing layer with a low permeability to retain the particles in the absorption matrix, and a transfer layer for acquiring fluid. Moreover, the invention relates to a sanitary product having such an absorbent core, the use of a fleece composite as an absorbent core cover, and a method for manufacturing a fleece composite for the upper side sheet of the absorbent core cover.

ABSORBENT ARTICLES HAVING TEXTURE ZONES FORMING BACKGROUND PATTERNS AND MACRO PATTERNS

An absorbent article comprises first and second substrates and one or more elastic elements disposed at least partially intermediate the substrates. The second substrate is attached to the first substrate and/or to portions of the elastic elements. The absorbent article comprises an adhesive having a first and second pattern of elements disposed on first substrate, and first and second texture zones. The first texture zone comprises a first portion of the substrates, a first portion of the elastic elements, and the first pattern of elements of the adhesive and forms a background pattern in the first portion of the substrates. The second texture zone comprises a second portion of the substrates, a second portion of the one or more elastic elements, and the second pattern of elements of the adhesive and forms a macro pattern in the second portion of the substrates.

Method and apparatus for inkjet printing absorbent article components
11772390 · 2023-10-03 · ·

The present disclosure relates to methods for printing absorbent article substrates. Printing systems herein may include a first printhead and a second printhead, wherein a substrate advances under the first and second printheads. The first printhead ejects ink onto the substrate to define a first printed zone, and the second printhead ejects ink onto the substrate to define a second printed zone. The first printed zone and the second printed zone together define a printed region. The first and second printed zones may be coterminous along respective edges to define a print stitch line extending in the machine direction. The substrate may then be manipulated proximate the print stitch line during a manufacturing process. Positioning the print stitch line proximate a region subject to manipulation may help hide and/or obscure the print stitch line from view. In turn, noticeable visible results of imprecise and/or inconsistent printing operations may be reduced.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ASSEMBLING ABSORBENT ARTICLES
20230157900 · 2023-05-25 ·

The present disclosure relates to assembling elastic laminates that may be used to make absorbent article components. Methods herein may include an anvil adapted to rotate about an axis of rotation, wherein first and second spreader mechanisms adjacent the anvil roll are axially and angularly displaced from each other with respect to the axis of rotation. During the assembly process, a substrate may be advanced in a machine direction onto the rotating anvil. The first spreader mechanism stretches a first elastic material in the cross direction, and the second spreader mechanism stretches a second elastic material in the cross direction. The stretched first and second elastic materials advance from the spreader mechanisms and onto the substrate on the anvil roll. The combined and elastic materials may then be ultrasonically bonded together on the anvil to form at least one elastic laminate.
