Absorbent article having a waist gasketing element
The present disclosure relates to absorbent articles having a waist gasketing element, with the gasketing element having an adhesive zone and one or more adhesive-free zones. At least a portion of the waist gasketing element is adhesively attached to a chassis of the absorbent article. Additionally, a portion of the waist gasketing element is mechanically attached to a portion of the absorbent article.
Absorbent articles including improved elastic panels
An absorbent article includes a first waist region, a second waist region, and a crotch region disposed between the first and second waist regions; and a chassis having a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core positioned between the topsheet and the backsheet. The article also includes a side panel having an ultrasonically bonded, gathered laminate. The laminate has an elastomeric layer and a substrate and is joined to the chassis at a chassis attachment bond and positioned in one of the first or second waist regions. The ultrasonically bonded, gathered laminate also includes an ear structural feature comprising a surface modification to the substrate and comprising at least one of the following: embossing, apertures, perforations, slits, melted material or coatings, compressed material, secondary bonds that are disposed apart from a chassis attachment bond, plastic deformation, and folds.
DRYNESS LAYER LAMINATE FOR ABSORBENT ARTICLES
The present disclosure relates to absorbent garments having a dryness layer that can comprise one or more laminates and one or more channels to facilitate liquid acquisition and retention. Laminate(s) can include an absorbent lamina disposed between substrate laminae, each comprising tissue and/or a nonwoven. Some dryness layers can have a folded laminate that defines a longitudinally-extending channel. Some dryness layers can have two or more laminate strips that are laterally spaced apart along a width of the dryness layer such that one or more longitudinally-extending channels are defined therebetween.
Absorbent article with function-formed topsheet, and method for manufacturing
An absorbent article is disclosed. The article includes a topsheet formed of a section of formed nonwoven web material having an ordered arrangement of zones, each zone comprising one or more attenuated regions adjacent to one or more built-up regions, wherein the attenuated regions have a first average basis weight and the built-up regions have a second average basis weight, wherein the first average basis weight is less than the second average basis weight, the difference in basis weights corresponding to disposition of the filaments according to the ordered arrangement. The attenuated region(s) may be included within a configuration of one or more channel portions on the topsheet. Alternatively or in combination, the attenuated region(s) may be included within a hinge portion extending along a wing portion of the topsheet.
Disposable Wearing Article and Method of Bonding Perforated Nonwoven Fabric
To certainly fix the peripheral portion of a hole to a support sheet without losing flexibility. The above problem is solved by providing a cover nonwoven fabric in which a plurality of holes penetrating front and back surfaces at intervals, and a liquid impervious sheet in which the cover nonwoven fabric is bonded via a hot melt adhesive, in the cover nonwoven fabric, the peripheral portions of the holes are warped portion warped toward the liquid impervious sheet side, at least a tip portion of the warped portion of the cover nonwoven fabric has an adhesive portion bonded to the liquid impervious sheet via the hot melt adhesive, and a portion of the cover nonwoven fabric other than the adhesive portion is not adhered to the liquid impervious sheet.
Device for producing disposable wearable article and method for producing disposable wearable article
Provided are a device for producing a disposable wearable article and a method for producing a disposable wearable article capable of suppressing the occurrence of a sealing failure by making it difficult for a doubled sheet to open against an elastic force of an absorber. A device for producing a disposable wearable article includes a jointing/cutting unit (60) provided in a line (L1) for continuously conveying a sheet (W) and configured to join parts of the doubled sheet (W) at opposite sides of an absorber (C) and then cut the joined parts and a pressing unit (70) arranged upstream of the jointing/cutting unit (60) in a conveying direction (a). The pressing unit (70) includes a pressing mechanism (71, 72) configured to press the sheet (W) together with the absorber (C) in a thickness direction.
PULL-ON ABSORBENT ARTICLE
A pull-on absorbent article includes: an absorbent main body including an absorbent body along a vertical direction; and waist-circumference sections in a pair respectively located on one end side and another end side of the absorbent main body, the waist-circumference sections each including an elastic member stretchable in a lateral direction, the absorbent main body including extension sections in a pair respectively extending outward on two lateral sides of the absorbent body, the extension sections each having an elastic member stretchable in the vertical direction placed therein, the extension sections each forming a leg opening and including an overlap portion that overlaps in the vertical direction with at least one of the waist-circumference sections in a pair, the overlap portion having at least a part joined to the waist-circumference section, the overlap portion of the extension section having a welded region having a predetermined lateral length placed therein.
Flexible Bonding
A flexible bonding roll including one or more pressure applying members is configured to operatively engage an anvil roll. The one or more pressure applying members include one or more spring elements. The spring elements allow for the one or more pressure applying members to compress as the pressure applying members are engaged by the outer circumferential surface of the anvil roll. The compression of the pressure applying members allows for relatively reduced damage of substrates and equipment during bonding.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH THREE-DIMENSIONAL HOT-MELT BONDED LAMINATE
An absorbent article such as a baby diaper comprising a three-dimensional laminate 30 having a first layer 1 intermittently bonded to a second layer 2 by a heterophase polymer. The topsheet comprises three-dimensional protrusions 9 in the first layer 1 which are not bonded to the second layer 2. The heterophase polymer has an enthalpy of fusion of at least 10 J/g. The laminate may be used on the wearer-facing side of the article as topsheet 24 and/or on the garment-facing side as part of the backsheet 26. The first layer may comprise natural fibers.
