MEDICAL SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND RELATED METHODS

In one example, a medical system may comprise a delivery tube configured to couple to a vacuum source and provide negative pressure to a distal portion of the delivery tube; and a porous body at a distal portion of the delivery tube, the porous body including a first section and a second section removable from the first section.

TAMPON APPLICATOR WITH IMPROVED INSERTION TIP
20180125726 · 2018-05-10 ·

An insertion end for a tampon applicator assembly. The insertion end has an insertion tip region and optionally an inflection region. The insertion end of the tampon applicator assembly is unique in one or more ways, including one or more of the following: having a unique degree of closure, an inflection region length that is different than an insertion end region length, petal slits that form a tear-drop shape, petals having multiple radii of curvature, the insertion end having a unique radius of curvature, the insertion end having a unique part thickness.

COMPACT TAMPON APPLICATOR WITH TWO-PIECE PLUNGER

A compact applicator has a two-piece telescoping plunger. The compact applicator, with such telescoping plunger has a full-size barrel region while maintaining an overall applicator length that is the same and/or slightly shorter than current known compact applicators. In a non-deployed configuration, the inner sleeve of the plunger is generally telescoped within the outer sleeve of the plunger, and the outer sleeve of the plunger is generally telescoped within the applicator barrel.

Tampon applicator and sanitary tampon

A tampon applicator includes an outer tube for containing at least a part of an absorber therein, a first inner tube and a second inner tube. The second inner tube is telescopically received within the first inner tube. The first inner tube and the second inner tube are connectable to each other during use to push out the absorber from the outer tube. At least a part of the first inner tube and at least a part of the second inner tube overlap with each other in an overlap region outside the outer tube. A color difference between the outer tube and the overlap region is higher than a color difference between the overlap region and the second inner tube.

Fibrous sheet that disintegrates in water, process for manufacturing said fibrous sheet, core consisting of strips of said fibrous sheet

A fibrous sheet having a basis weight of between 20 and 1000 g/m.sup.2 that disintegrates in water, has 10% to 70% starch on the basis of the total weight of the dry fibrous sheet. The disintegration time in water, measured in accordance with standard NF Q34-020 applied to a specimen of the sheet of 98 cm.sup.2, is less than 50 seconds. A loss of strength of the sheet measured in accordance with a defined table test corresponds to a loss of strength of a specimen of said sheet forming an angle of at least 85 after having being wetted with water for a duration of 6 seconds, and/or a residual wet strength of the sheet relative to its dry strength, as measured according to a defined ring crush test, is less than 1%. The fibrous sheet may be used for the manufacture of a water disintegrable core in a roll of tissue paper.

Chitosan dressing for control of bleeding in transurethral prostatectomy

The present invention relates to a biocompatible, foldable, thin profile, low mass and high surface area, chitosan dressing, optionally modified with catechol, and suitable for treating bleeding in a physiological environment, e.g. bladder, and in particular in connection with the TURP procedure. The characteristics and structures of the chitosan dressing are provided. Methods of making and using the chitosan dressing are also provided.

STORAGE SYSTEM FOR FEMININE HYGIENE PRODUCT AND METHOD FOR USE
20180028373 · 2018-02-01 ·

A system including a first storage pocket having an inner cavity with an absorbent pad positioned therein. The system further includes a second storage pocket having an inner cavity with a tampon positioned therein, wherein the second storage pocket is directly coupled to the first storage pocket.

MENSTRUAL DEVICE AND APPLICATOR SYSTEM

A menstrual device having a storage volume. The menstrual device has a frame and a fluid barrier seal layer attached to the exterior surface of the frame. The menstrual device has an expanded configuration that includes an at rest configuration and a deployed configuration. The menstrual device has a compact configuration where the menstrual device is confined to a size, shape and/or geometry smaller than an expanded configuration such that it can be more easily inserted into the body. The menstrual device in a compact configuration is contained within an applicator, where the applicator assists in ejecting the menstrual device into the body.

Medical devices for delivering plugs to voids

Medical devices for delivering a plug to a void within a patient. The medical device can include a fluid delivery device and a plug holder (e.g., a plug delivery device) coupled to a distal end of the fluid delivery device. The medical device may be configured such that the delivery of fluid from the fluid delivery device wets the plug, ejects the plug from the plug holder, and pushes the plug through a lumen of an elongate tube to a void within a patient.
