Reusable tampon applicators, methods of manufacture, and methods of use
Disclosed are reusable tampon applicators, methods of use, and methods of manufacture thereof. A reusable tampon applicator comprises a cylindrical body, and a pusher for pushing a tampon through the cylindrical body during tampon application. The cylindrical body comprises a base opening at a distal end for inserting the tampon into a straight barrel connected to a convex apex at a proximal end. The convex apex comprises a slit opening for the tampon to pass through during tampon application. The slit opening extends from the proximal end to the distal end to form a full slit on a first lateral side of the cylindrical body; it further extends from the proximal end towards the distal end to form a partial slit on a second lateral side. Such reusable tampon applicators provide a hygienic and eco-friendly alternative to disposable tampon applicators.
Tampon applicator
An applicator for a tampon comprising an inner tube slideable within an outer tube is provided. A plurality of protrusions is provided on the outer surface of the inner tube at its forward end and a plurality of spikes is provided on the inner surface of the outer tube at its forward end. The applicator has one or more of these features: i) the same or different number of protrusions and spikes; ii) one or more of the protrusions are arranged in an asymmetric manner around the outer surface of the inner tube such that the distance between two adjacent protrusions is not the same for all adjacent pairs of protrusions; iii) one or more of the spikes are arranged in an asymmetric manner around the inner surface of the outer tube such that the distance between two adjacent spikes is not the same for all adjacent pairs of spikes.
Vaginal ring applicator
A vaginal ring applicator having a polymeric barrel and at least one friction reducing agent, wherein the barrel is a flattened cylinder having two slightly curved and opposing sides connected by two arcs, wherein the barrel extends between an insertion end and a plunger end; and a plunger extending between distal and proximal ends, wherein the distal end of the plunger engages the plunger end of the barrel and wherein the plunger fits telescopically within the barrel.
DELIVERY SYSTEMS FOR CONTROL OF BLEEDING IN TRANSURETHRAL PROSTATECTOMY
The present disclosure relates to a gastrointestinal delivery device of a chitosan dressing, where the delivery device is capable of stop bleeding, in particular in connection with TURP procedures. The delivery device may be used in all gastrointestinal bleeding applications and can be used with a biocompatible, foldable, thin profile, chitosan dressing. Various aspects of the device and its uses are provided herein.
CHITOSAN DRESSING FOR CONTROL OF BLEEDING IN TRANSURETHRAL PROSTATECTOMY
The present invention relates to a biocompatible, foldable, thin profile, low mass and high surface area, chitosan dressing, optionally modified with catechol, and suitable for treating bleeding in a physiological environment, e.g. bladder, and in particular in connection with the TURP procedure. The characteristics and structures of the chitosan dressing are provided. Methods of making and using the chitosan dressing are also provided.
CATHETER TAMPON AND TELESCOPIC CATHETER SET AND FINGER SHEATH THEREOF
Provided is a catheter tampon and a telescopic catheter set and finger set thereof, to solve the problems of uncomfortability or unsmooth pushing of the conventional catheter. The telescopic catheter set includes an outer tube having a sheet partially overlapped by curling, with a chamber formed inside the sheet. An inner edge of the sheet is not exposed and an outer edge of the sheet is exposed. An anterior edge of the sheet circles to form an opening, and a posterior edge of the sheet circles to form an entrance. The telescopic catheter set further includes an inner tube, with a first end of the inner tube located inside the chamber and movable relative to the outer tube, and with a second end of the inner tube located at the posterior edge of the entrance.
TAMPON DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR A PHARMACEUTICAL, HOLISTIC OR MEDICINAL COMPONENT
A tampon and delivery system for a pharmaceutical, holistic or medicinal component, includes: (1) a tampon having a generally cylindrical shape including a leading end and a cylindrical outer surface; (2) an outer delivery sheath applied to at least a portion of the cylindrical outer surface of the tampon, distal from the leading end (and preferably leaving the leading end exposed), where the outer delivery sheath comprises a formulation including (a) a water soluble polymer film carrier and (b) a pharmaceutical, holistic or medicinal component; and (3) an applicator containing the tampon and applied delivery sheath. Methods for preparation of the delivery system and methods of use are also disclosed.
Compact tampon applicator with two-piece plunger
A compact applicator has a two-piece telescoping plunger. The compact applicator, with such telescoping plunger, has a full-size barrel region while maintaining an overall applicator length that is the same and/or slightly shorter than current known compact applicators. In a non-deployed configuration, the inner sleeve of the plunger is generally telescoped within the outer sleeve of the plunger, and the outer sleeve of the plunger is generally telescoped within the applicator barrel.
Composition For Thin Walled Molded Parts
A polymer composition comprising an organic polymer and a mica containing effect pigment, e.g., a pearlescent pigment comprising mica, well suited for producing molded articles, in particular, for molding articles comprising thin sections and or delicate features, such as a hollow interior defined by a thin wall or structural features susceptible to tear or other damage and the like, is provided as are a method for preparing molded articles comprising the polymer composition and articles comprising the polymer composition, including, for example, an article used to deliver a medical or personal care component such as a tampon applicator, and a method for preparing molded articles comprising the polymer composition. Optionally, articles of the present disclosure have a varying translucency or opacity about a dimension of the article.
Hemostatic device
A hemostatic device for treatment of a gunshot wound includes a barrel, which has a first end that is open, and a plunger. The barrel is arcuate adjacent to a second end to define a tip section. A clotting medium and a gauze are positioned in the barrel proximate to the tip section and between the clotting medium and the first end, respectively. A plurality of slits that is positioned in the tip section defines a plurality of petals, which comprise plastic and are resiliently deformable. The plunger, which has a head that is sealably positioned in the barrel adjacent to the first end, is configured to be pushed into the barrel to apply pressure to the gauze and the clotting medium so that the petals separate. The clotting medium and the gauze are sequentially expelled from the barrel into a wound to induce clotting and to pack the wound.
