Stiff nanocomposite film for use in an absorbent article

A thin nanocomposite film for use in an absorbent article (e.g., sanitary napkin) is provided. The film contains a first ethylene polymer having a density of about 0.94 g/cm3 or less, second ethylene polymer having a density of greater than 0.94 g/cm3, and nanoclay having an organic surface treatment. The present inventors have discovered that through selective control over the particular type and concentration of the components used to form the film, as well as the manner in which it is formed, the properties of the film can be significantly improved.

PACKAGED BODY ADHERING ABSORBENT ARTICLE

A packaged feminine care absorbent article has an absorbent article with an absorbent structure and a shell. The absorbent structure is configured for disposition adjacent a female wearer's vaginal region. The shell is configured for supporting the absorbent structure at the vaginal region. The shell has a body-facing surface and a garment-facing surface. The body-facing surface has an adhesive thereon for adhering the shell directly to the wearer. The absorbent structure is attached directly to the garment-facing surface. The absorbent article is configurable between a packaged configuration and a use configuration. The absorbent structure is folded longitudinally about at least one transverse fold line and transversely about at least one longitudinal fold line in the packaged configuration. A portion of the shell overlies a portion of the absorbent structure in the packaged configuration.

The present invention is a system and method for decreasing visibility of feminine products through clothing, wherein the non-absorbent material including the wings on the product, are made using colors that batter match clothing and may be used to attach the clothing protection product to undergarments of the user, the wings may be made stronger and resistant to tearing, adhesives used to attached the wings to an undergarment may be modified to allow easier detachment from the undergarment, and the bond between the wings and the non-absorbent layer may be reinforced to prevent the wings from tearing off the clothing protection product if the product must be detached and moved.

Incontinence System

Particular embodiments of the inventive technology may provide an incontinence pad that includes projection, such as a raised ridge, or a short length projection, that extends from a pad base of and effects application of a force against the urethra of a user (the force, typically upward, that may result from sitting by the user and/or tight fitting shorts and/or pulling a cord attached to the projection); the projection may act to transfer a force from the projection to the urethra. This force may partially or entirely obstruct flow of urine through, or out of the urethra, that might occur otherwise (i.e., without the projection). Another example of the many independent aspects of the inventive technology relates to the provision, as part of an incontinence pad, of a cord that is attached to part of the pad, such as (in only certain embodiments) the aforementioned upward projection.

Article for absorbing bodily discharges of a user

An article for absorbing bodily discharges of a user includes an absorbent element. Further, the absorbent element is configured to be disposed in an intergluteal cleft of the user. Further, the absorbent element includes a base portion, a first portion, and a second portion. Further, the first portion is attached to the base portion on a first side of the base portion and the second portion is attached to the base portion on a second side of the base portion. Further, the first side opposes the second side. Each of the first portion and the second portion extends vertically away from the base portion. Further, the absorbent element includes an outer layer and an inner layer. Further, the inner layer is disposed below the outer layer. Further, the outer layer collects a bodily discharge of the user and the inner layer absorbs the bodily discharge collected by the outer layer.

Absorbent article having traverse reinforcing element

An absorbent article having a front end region, a rear end region, a central region disposed between the front and rear end regions, a fluids source area, and a transverse axis and a longitudinal axis. The absorbent article includes a topsheet, a backsheet, an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, and a reinforcing structure disposed within the central region. In one aspect of the invention, the reinforcing structure includes a pair of traverse reinforcing elements each of which is formed by two traverse channels. The two traverse channels may be disposed generally parallel to the transverse axis with a reinforcement distance such that the absorbent core has an average density of in the range of about 5% to about 500% higher at the traverse reinforcing element than the fluids source area.

An absorber of a disposable diaper includes a first region arranged partially in the crotch region; a second region arranged adjacent to the first region and having a lower bending rigidity than that of the first region; and a third region arranged adjacent to the second region and having a higher bending rigidity than that of the second region. A boundary between the first and second regions is arranged in a narrow region. A boundary between the second and third regions is arranged at the side of the crotch region from an end at the crotch region side of a waistline retaining unit in the front waistline region. An end at the front waistline region side of the third region is arranged at the side of the front waistline region from the end at the crotch region side of the waistline retaining unit in the front waistline region.
