Feminine hygiene articles are disclosed herein. The feminine hygiene articles described herein can provide easily discernable placement and orientation guides which reduce the likelihood of misapplication by the user, facilitated attachment guides which can reduce the likelihood of misapplication of the feminine pad and can also reduce the likelihood of improper attachment of the feminine pad to a panty. The feminine hygiene articles disclosed include wings which can provide cues on proper attachment of the article to the panty, and wing adhesive distributed in a way which can provide sustained coverage of the feminine hygiene article to the panty which reduces the likelihood that the pad will become detached during use.

A protective insert (10) operatively attachable to an inner, body-facing layer of a garment. The protective insert generally comprises, a first, operatively inner layer (12) comprising a moisture-wicking, odour resistance, fluid absorbent fibre with or without a waterproof laminate-film; and a second, operatively outer layer (14) comprising a breathable, odour resistant, water repellent fibre to further prevent fluid passage through the garment; wherein the operatively inner layer faces the body of a user while the operatively outer layer faces away from the body of a user, in use.

The topsheet and the absorbent layer are disposed in direct face-to-face relationship with each other, and attached to each other within a bonding region. Within the bonding region, each first identifiable point of attachment between the topsheet and the absorbent layer has a neighboring second identifiable point of attachment between the topsheet and the absorbent layer within a 6 mm radius of the first identifiable point of attachment.

The sanitary napkin also has a pair of wings extending outward from the sides of the sanitary napkin and has garment adhesive on the garment facing surfaces to secure the sanitary napkin and the pair of wings to the crotch portion of an undergarment. This sanitary napkin is designed to absorb heavy to excessive menstrual fluid flow.

A first pattern of adhesive is applied to the central section of a garment facing surface of the backsheet. The first pattern of adhesive has a first plurality of stripes extending substantially parallel to the transverse axis on a first side of the central longitudinal axis. A second plurality of stripes extends substantially parallel to the transverse axis on a second side of the central longitudinal axis. A first gap between the first plurality of stripes and the second plurality of stripes extends over the central longitudinal axis.

An absorbent article having a front section, a central section and a rear section located along a longitudinal axis is described. A first pattern of adhesive is applied to the central section of a garment facing surface of the backsheet. The first pattern of adhesive has a first plurality of stripes extending substantially parallel to the transverse axis on a first side of the central longitudinal axis. A second plurality of stripes extends substantially parallel to the transverse axis on a second side of the central longitudinal axis. A first gap between the first plurality of stripes and the second plurality of stripes extends over the central longitudinal axis.
