Roofing, cladding or siding module, its manufacture and use
11702840 · 2023-07-18 · ·

A roofing, cladding or siding product which is light weight, easy to install, durable and resistant to environmental wear. The module comprises an underlapping region and an exposed region, wherein the underlapping region is adapted to be at least partially covered by the exposed region of an adjacent module when installed on a building surface. The module also includes a textured surface area on an upper surface of the underlapping region and/or an underside of the exposed region. In use, the textured surface (e.g. made up from a densely packed group of cones, pyramids or cylinders) presents an increased surface area for improved contact with an adhesive. The adhesive, e.g. in strip form, may by located on an aligning part of an adjacent module with the textured surface area.

Solar powered charging station

A solar powered charging station uses photovoltaic panels to generate electrical energy for use directly and/or for storage in electrical batteries for use during night operation. The station includes parallel electrical circuits which permit the station to operate during daylight hours in the event of a failure of the battery or the battery charging system. The station is adapted to use stabilizing ballast which can be collected locally at the site of the station. The parallel circuitry is adaptable for use with other forms of electrical power generation having a minimal carbon footprint.

Interlocking BIPV roof tile with backer

Building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) systems provide for solar panel arrays that can be aesthetically pleasing to an observer. BIPV systems can be incorporated as part of roof surfaces as built into the structure of the roof, particularly as photovoltaic modules having the appearance of a plurality of roofing tiles that each have photovoltaic cells. Each photovoltaic module may include a metal backer, photovoltaic cells, and light transmissive top sheets adhered to both the metal backer and the photovoltaic cells. BIPV systems can also include non-photovoltaic modules that appear similar to photovoltaic modules, but do not collect solar energy.

SYSTEM FOR MOUNTING ROOF TILES
20230019242 · 2023-01-19 ·

A system for mounting roof tiles, such as solar tiles 108, is disclosed. The system includes a plurality of base mounting sections 200, a plurality of pin joint 102 and a plurality of overhang sections 104. The base mounting sections are fixed to deck 302 horizontally in spaced disposition parallel to a deck ridge 304, and the pin joints 102 and the overhang sections 104 are fixed to two proximal and distal sides of tiles 108 by adhesives. The tiles 108 are removably installed over a pair of adjacent base mounting sections 200 with the overhang section 104 fastened to the proximal base mounting section 200 and the pin joints 102 fastened to the distal base mounting section 200. After installation, the overhang section 104 overlaps with the tiles 108 of adjacent row on the proximal side thereby preventing ingress of water.
