Multi-mode cooling system and method with evaporative cooling
An air channeling sub-system may include a mechanical cooling section and a direct evaporative cooling section. The direct evaporative cooling section may be downstream from the mechanical cooling section. Cooling air is channeled through the air channeling sub-system and into the room. If a first set of control conditions is met, the air channeling sub-systems is operated in an adiabatic mode. The adiabatic mode includes channeling cooling air through the direct evaporative cooling section to evaporate water into the cooling air. If a second set of control conditions is met, the air channeling sub-system is operated in a hybrid mode. The hybrid mode includes channeling cooling air through the mechanical cooling section to remove heat from the cooling air and channeling the cooling air through the direct evaporative cooling section to evaporate water into the cooling air.

EVAPORATION HEAT EXCHANGE DEVICE FOR AIR COOLING FOR CONDITIONING AND CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEMS FOR SERVER ROOMS AND THE LIKE
A heat exchange device for air cooling for conditioning and climate control systems for server rooms and the like, which comprises: an air/air heat exchanger, designed to be passed through by a primary air stream along a first trajectory from an intake region to an outflow region and by a secondary air stream along a second trajectory from a corresponding intake region to a corresponding outflow region, water dispensing elements adapted to wet the heat exchanger downward from above, elements of collecting the water that descends from the heat exchanger, a recirculation pump for returning the air-cooling water from the collection elements up to the dispensing elements arranged above the heat exchanger; the water dispensing elements comprise a plurality of nozzles arranged side by side, or rows of nozzles, which are adapted to dispense water with a flow-rate that decreases starting from the intake region for the primary air stream toward the outflow region of the heat exchanger.
Humidifier and air-conditioning apparatus including the same
A humidifier, including: a flat humidification member formed of a water absorbing member and arranged in an upright posture; a nozzle serving as a water supply unit configured to supply water to the humidification member; and an airflow direction changing plate arranged with a clearance secured between the airflow direction changing plate and the humidification member. On a flat surface of the airflow direction changing plate opposed to the flat humidification member, an airflow direction changing portion is arranged to project toward the flat humidification member, the airflow direction changing portion being configured to change a direction of an air current flowing between the flat humidification member and the airflow direction changing plate.
DEVICE FOR PRODUCING WATER DROPLETS FOR AIR HUMIDIFICATION AND A HUMIDIFICATION SYSTEM WITH SUCH DEVICES
A humidification device (1) is shown wherein water is nebulized by a vibrating mesh with very small holes. The mesh is part of a reservoir which is fed by a valve arrangement which allows to direct water from a conduit over several water lines within the device either back to the conduit or into the reservoir. The device and a system with such devices allow to humidify and/or cool compartments such as rooms with a very fine mist of water which is hardly visually detectable. The system and device is adapted to be part of a permanent installation with low maintenance.
COMPACT INDIRECT EVAPORATIVE COOLER
An indirect evaporative cooling system with a core greatly reduced in size compared to conventional evaporative cooling systems The system has a heat exchanger core having heat exchange plates defining a plurality of wet air flow passages and a plurality of dry air flow passages. At least one fan drives air through the passages. The dry air passages have a small height and a short length, configured so that a substantially laminar airflow having a raised shear rate arises in the dry air passages, and so that a back pressure across a length of the dry air passages remains low.
AIR GUIDE-INTEGRATED EVAPORATION COOLER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an air guide-integrated evaporation cooler which allows a plurality of barrier plates, heat exchangers, and air guides for forming a dry channel and a wet channel to be integrally manufactured by a simple process, and a method of manufacturing the same. The air guide-integrated evaporation cooler for implementing the purpose includes a plurality of barrier plates; and gap units including a plurality of bars positioned between the plurality of barrier plates, disposed to be spaced apart from each other at a center portion thereof, and configured to form heat exchangers, and guides disposed at edges of the plurality of barrier plates and configured to determine a direction of a fluid flow.
SYNTHETIC MEDIA PADS FOR AN EVAPORATIVE COOLER AND METHOD FOR EVAPORATIVE COOLING
Synthetic media pads configured to be arranged in a stack of an evaporative cooler for a gas turbine, wherein the synthetic media pads include high density synthetic media pads and low density synthetic media pads. The sides of the pads may have surface patterns, such as grooves and ridges, to provide support for the pads.
APPARATUS FOR HUMIDIFYING AIR IN AN AIR DUCT
An apparatus for humidifying air in an air duct
The invention relates to an apparatus for humidifying air in an air duct (1), comprising a feeding device for a liquid mist (10) and an air conducting device located upstream of the feeding device in the direction of flow (2). In order to provide advantageous humidifying conditions it is proposed that the air conducting device comprises at least one wing (7) which extends transversely to the direction of flow (2) and has an airfoil profile which is pitched against the direction of flow (2).
Geothermal Heating, Cooling, and Dehumidification Ventilation System
A system designed to introduce fresh air ventilation into the living space, eliminate contaminants, and add fresh air to augment a building's HVAC system. This is done in order to save energy, and the costs associated with heat loss or gain in a building. The system employs the use of geothermal energy conferred to air via a cavity which is constructed in the basement, on the slab, foundation, in the crawl space and/or attic of a building. This cavity is created to circulate, absorb and store/release the geo-solar characteristics of a building, taking advantage the consistent subterranean temperature of the earth and/or sun, in order to warm air from outside during the winter minimizing the foundation heat sink, and cool air during the summer. One or more heat exchangers are used to transfer the energy from contaminated air in the cavity to clean air destined for the HVAC system.
