The present invention provides an inverted roofing system and method that is more thermally efficient, inexpensive and quicker to install, better able to withstand environmental conditions, and produces the appearance and some functional benefits of a traditional natural green roof ballast top-layer. It does not require a sloped roof gradient, and is capable of a user controlled mass per square foot roof load. The inverted roofing system and method provides a ballast top-layer that is lightweight, and maintains properties that will prevent wind uplift.

System and method for harvesting rainwater

A system for harvesting rainwater for use in a skirt building. The skirt building includes a main building and a podium supporting the main building. The system includes: a standpipe; a buffer channel; a filter channel; and a green roof. The green roof includes a vegetation region including a baffled diversion corridor, and a bottom filtering layer including a drainage pipe. The standpipe is arranged on the main building and is connected to the buffer channel where the energy of rainwater flowing out of the standpipe is dissipated. The buffer channel, the filter channel, and the green roof are arranged on the podium, and the buffer channel communicates with the filter channel. The filter channel is connected to the green roof. The filter channel is divided into a plurality of sections respectively filled with different matrix materials.

In an embodiment, a method includes applying a liquid plural component polymer to a sloped roof to form a protective surface that inhibits moisture seepage to the roof sheathing. In some embodiments, the plural component polymer may be a polyurea compound having a hardening time that is less than approximately 10 minutes. In some embodiments, one or more of the components may be aerated prior to application to the roof substrate. In some embodiments, one or more polystyrene panels may be affixed to the sloped roof prior to application of the liquid plural component polymer. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

The base includes a base body; a drain hole penetrating the upper and lower surfaces of the base body, wherein a connection member extends downward from the lower surface of the base body; a plurality of water guiding trenches mutually intersecting on the upper surface of the base body and interconnecting with the drain holes for water drainage; and a plurality of overflow holes disposed in and penetrated the water guiding trenches for water drainage. The water storage device includes a storage body and a connection neck to fix with the connection member. The diversion element is inserted through the drain hole and extended to the water storage device. The planting baseplate assembly is easy to assemble, favorable to environmental protection, and applicable to green roofs and various planting apparatuses.
