MOORING LINE CONNECTOR APPARATUS AND METHOD
Disclosed is a connector apparatus for connecting a mooring line to a floating vessel, in which connector assemblies are cooperatively engaged and rotationally constrained. A pre-tensioning arrangement may be provided to apply a pre-tensioning force between the connector assemblies, and pivotable connection may be provided by way of pins which rotationally constrain the assemblies to one another. Methods of connecting and pre-tensioning connector assemblies are also disclosed.
IMPROVED TURRET MOORING SYSTEM
Disclosed herein is a turret mooring system for a tidal turbine assembly 150, which increases the ratio of the torque exerted by the turret 100 relative to frictional forces between the turret 100 and the assembly 150 moored to the turret 100. In some examples, the frictional forces are reduced by the turret providing an upward force to the assembly, which also resists pitching moments. In other examples, the torque exerted by the turret 100 is increased by the use of a bifurcated mooring line 106, 108 which couples to two spaced apart attachment points 128 on a chain table 104 of the turret 100 and to a single point 114 on the water bed.
Drilling Extinguishing Device And Drilling Extinguishing System, Drill
The invention relates to a drill fire extinguishing device (1) having: a tool holder (13) to hold or be connected to a tool; a fluid connection to supply a fluid; a turbine with an impeller that has at least one stage with a plurality of runner blades connected to the tool holder (13) to drive it in a rotary and/or percussive fashion using drive fluid via the fluid connection.
The drill fire extinguishing device (1) also has: at least one discharge opening (20) in a stationary wall (4) of the drill fire extinguishing device (1) communicating with a fluid chamber and/or a nozzle assembly (12) with one or more nozzles (18) in a stationary wall (4) of the drill fire extinguishing device (1) for dispensing the fluid and communicating with the fluid chamber.
The invention also relates to a drill fire extinguishing system and a drill bit.
FLOATING PLATFORM FOR SUPPORTING GENERATORS OF POWER DERIVED FROM THE WIND AND/OR WAVES AND/OR OCEAN CURRENTS
A floating platform for supporting generators of power derived from the wind, the waves and ocean currents, adopting an approximately disc-shaped general configuration with a circular or polygonal perimeter, which optimises its size and therefore minimises substantially its weight and likewise its production costs, as well as other associated complexities; which eliminates the possibility of entering into resonance with the movement of the ocean waves and thus not damaging the equipment installed, not overturning, and not surpassing the maximum list acceptable for wind power generators, nor wave power generators, nor ocean current generators; and which withstands the waves of the greatest size possible, all due to a ratio between its depth or height (13) and the diameter (14) thereof of between 0.06 and 0.35.
ORC turbine and generator, and method of making a turbine
A turbine and a turbine-generator device for use in electricity generation. The turbine has a universal design and so may be relatively easily modified for use in connection with generators having a rated power output in the range of 50 KW to 5 MW. Such modifications are achieved, in part, through use of a modular turbine cartridge built up of discrete rotor and stator plates sized for the desired application with turbine brush seals chosen to accommodate radial rotor movements from the supported generator. The cartridge may be installed and removed from the turbine relatively easily for maintenance or rebuilding. The rotor housing is designed to be relatively easily machined to dimensions that meet desired operating parameters.
Wave-powered generator
A machine and process to compress ambient air using natural swell of ocean waves to store energy. The devise is a bi-directional air pump operated by ocean wave power of water buoyancy as well as earth gravity in a pressure vessel using a piston. The machine uses a large surface area as float connected by a rod to a small area as piston, housed in a pressure vessel to multiply compression of air. The compression of air is directly proportional to the respective surface areas of float to the piston attached with a rod inside the pressure vessel. An array of similar machines can be employed to multiply potential energy output.
Energy harvesting device converting multiaxial translational and rotational motion to unidirectional rotational motion
An energy harnessing device for harnessing wave energy that results in pitch, sway, yaw, surge, roll, and heave movement, wherein the device effectively converts multiaxial translational and rotational motion to unidirectional rotational motion for power transmission.
A Marine Power Plant Assembly
A marine plant assembly comprising a floating vessel and a plant operating unit attached to a buoyancy vessel in such a way that the operating unit is at least partially submerged during operation. At least one link element provides a hinged connection between the operating unit and the buoyancy vessel, thereby to allow movement of the operating unit from its submerged operating position to above the water level and adjacent the buoyancy vessel by said link element rotating into a position substantially parallel to the buoyancy vessel.
WAVE ENERGY PLANT
The invention relates to a system that includes a wave energy converter and an assembly, adapted to be driven by the wave energy converter. The wave energy converter includes an array, in the form of rows and columns, of floating elements adapted to float on a sea surface in the vicinity of a shore. Each floating element has a first and a second end, each end being connected to a lever, the lever being connected through a bearing to a pivot point. Each lever is connected in an articulated manner to a piston rod in a wave-actuated liquid pump, that is in fluid communication with the pipe, adapted to lead a liquid to a workstation, wherein the workstation includes the assembly.
RENEWABLE ENERGY GENERATOR
A renewable energy generator includes a housing having the shape of a roly-poly-like capsule that floats in a sea; a main generation unit including an internal housing, a pendulum provided to be movable within the internal housing, a pendulum rotation shaft connected to the pendulum and rotatably connected to the internal housing, a main motor configured to convert the pendulum’s kinetic energy into electrical energy, and a gear set coupling the main motor and the pendulum rotation shaft and configured to transfer the kinetic energy of the pendulum to the main motor; frames fixed to the inside of the housing at predetermined intervals; a main rotation shaft rotatably connecting the main generation unit to at least one of the frames for the main generation unit to rotate with respect to the at least one of the one or more frames; and a controller configured to control the main generation unit.
