Systems and methods for power production with integrated production of hydrogen
11506122 · 2022-11-22 · ·

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods useful for power production. In particular, a power production cycle utilizing CO.sub.2 as a working fluid may be configured for simultaneous hydrogen production. Beneficially, substantially all carbon arising from combustion in power production and hydrogen production is captured in the form of carbon dioxide. Further, produced hydrogen (optionally mixed with nitrogen received from an air separation unit) can be input as fuel in a gas turbine combined cycle unit for additional power production therein without any atmospheric CO.sub.2 discharge.

Combined cycle plant, control device thereof, and steam turbine startup method

A combined cycle plant includes: a gas turbine having a compressor, a combustor, and a turbine; a supplementary firing burner configured to raise a temperature of an exhaust gas of the gas turbine; a heat recovery steam generator configured to generate a steam using an exhaust heat of the exhaust gas; a steam turbine configured to be driven by the steam generated by the heat recovery steam generator; and a control device configured to change both an output of the combustor and an output of the supplementary firing burner when an output of the combined cycle plant is to be changed.

PROCESSES FOR PRODUCING HYDROCARBON PRODUCTS

The present invention relates to processes for producing industrial products such as hydrocarbon products from non-polar lipids in a vegetative plant part. Preferred industrial products include alkyl esters which may be blended with petroleum based fuels.

METHOD FOR MODIFYING A SINGLE SHAFT COMBINED CYCLE POWER PLANT

A method for modifying an existing single shaft combined cycle power plant having a steam turbine part and a gas turbine part which are connected to each other rigidly by an intermediate shaft. The gas turbine part is supported by two pin-ended supports allowing a certain axial displacement of the casing by rotating about corresponding axes. The old gas turbine part is replaced by a new gas turbine part having a different structure, namely a rigid support and a flexible support. Relative thermal expansion or displacement of the intermediate shaft is compensated by a hydraulic unit comprising a double-acting piston for displacing the gas turbine rotor with respect to the gas turbine stator. The hydraulic unit is controlled based on a displacement measurement in the steam turbine.

POWER GENERATION SYSTEM

A system may include a turbine and a recuperative heat exchanger system. The recuperative heat exchanger system is configured to receive exhaust gases from the turbine. The recuperative heat exchanger system may include a precool section to cool the exhaust gases, a major heating section to receive the cooled the exhaust gases, and a minor heating section to receive the cooled the exhaust gases.

Device for controlling gas turbine, gas turbine facility, method for controlling gas turbine, and program for controlling gas turbine

A control device includes a load fuel quantity calculation unit, an allowable fuel quantity calculation unit, a flow rate low value selection unit, a basic drive quantity calculation unit, a fuel deviation calculation unit, and a correction unit. The load fuel quantity calculation unit determines a load fuel quantity based on a required output. The allowable fuel quantity calculation unit determines an allowable fuel quantity to protect a gas turbine. The flow rate low value selection unit selects a minimum fuel quantity from among the determined fuel quantities. The basic drive quantity calculation unit determines a basic drive quantity of an air intake quantity regulator. The fuel deviation calculation unit determines a fuel deviation between the allowable fuel quantity and the minimum fuel quantity. The correction value calculation unit determines a correction value corresponding to the fuel deviation which is then used to correct the basic drive quantity.

DISPATCH ADVISOR TO ASSIST IN SELECTING OPERATING CONDITIONS OF POWER PLANT THAT MAXIMIZES OPERATIONAL REVENUE

A dispatch advisor to assist in selecting operating conditions of a power plant that maximizes operational revenue is described. The dispatch advisor obtains a base load map for operating the power plant to meet base load power demands. The base load map includes a primary base load operating space for attaining target plant power output and efficiency, and an expanded base load portion for attaining higher plant power output and less than optimal efficiency. Both the primary base load operating space and the expanded base load portion associate power output and efficiency values of the power plant that result from a subset of operational parameter values for operating the power plant during base load. The dispatch advisor can transform the flexible base load map into one or more visualizations describing the revenue possibilities associated with operating the power plant based on operating values and attained power output and efficiency.
