Pulpless absorbent cores and methods of manufacture are disclosed. A first method for forming an absorbent core may comprise advancing a carrier sheet on a foraminous forming surface in a machine direction, the foraminous forming surface having a width extending in a cross-machine direction, creating a pressure differential across the forming surface, applying a first adhesive onto the carrier sheet, advancing the carrier sheet within a particulate material delivery chamber, and dispensing particulate material from a particulate material inlet within the particulate material delivery chamber to deposit the particulate material onto the first adhesive, wherein the particulate material inlet has a width that is between 25% and 75% of the foraminous forming surface width, and wherein the particulate material is delivered from the particulate material inlet at less than 900 meters per minute.

A disposable absorbent article to be worn about the lower torso of a wearer that facilitates an easy, intuitive change is provided. The disposable absorbent article includes at least one serviceable indicium that facilitates an easy change by providing alignment of the article relative to an anatomical feature of the wearer or by externally highlighting one or more components of the article thereby indicating alignment and fit about the wearer's lower torso.

A single use device for capturing fecal matter excreted from the anus of a user. The device includes a flexible fecal matter container having a closed end and an opening that is in fluid communication with a volume enclosed by the flexible container. An adhesive is disposed about the opening of the flexible container and has a first side that is secured to the flexible container. A second side of the adhesive is constructed to be removably applied to the epidermis of the user proximate an anal opening of the user. The adhesive is shaped to cooperate with the epidermis to circumscribe the anus in a sealed manner without interfering or overlapping anatomy associated with urinary function or medical devices, such as a catheter, associated therewith.

An absorbent article can include a chassis including an absorbent body. The chassis can include a body facing surface. The absorbent article can also include a pair of body exudate containment flaps attached to the body facing surface of the chassis. The containment flaps can include a first portion located in the front portion of the absorbent article and chassis, and a second portion located in the rear portion of the absorbent article and chassis. The second portion of the containment flaps can have one or more properties that are different than one or more properties of the first portion of the containment flaps to reduce the lateral flow of body exudates out the sides of the absorbent article.

[Solution to problem] The above problem is solved by a pad type disposable diaper 200, in which a top sheet 22 is formed of a thermoplastic nonwoven fabric, and absorbent bodies 23A and 23B are formed of a lower layer absorbent body 23B and an upper layer absorbent body 23A provided on a front surface of the lower layer absorbent body 23B, wherein a slit 40 having a predetermined width is provided in the upper layer absorbent body 23A at least at a crotch portion C2 so as to extend in a front-back direction, and the slit 40 having the predetermined width is not provided in the lower layer absorbent body 23B, the top sheet 22 includes a depressed portion 30 that is depressed into the slit 40, and multiple low permeation portions 80 are provided with intervals at least in the depressed portion 30, the low permeation portions 80 being portions in which fibers are welded to each other in a state of being compressed in a thickness direction.

A composite article for use in, e.g., a disposable diaper including a strip of hook material tab where the strip extends into the part of the tab used for attachment to, e.g., the “ear” which conventionally extends to each side of a disposable diaper's chassis. Such an arrangement increases the tear strength of the tab, providing more secure attachment in the face of movement by the wearer.
