PROCESSING APPARATUS
A processing apparatus includes a holding table including a holding surface that holds a back surface side of a substrate and a processing unit that processes the substrate held on the holding surface. The holding surface includes a holding section that holds a central region of the substrate, a discharge groove that surrounds the holding section, and an outer circumferential groove that surrounds the discharge groove and communicates with a suction source to hold under suction the substrate. The processing apparatus uses the discharge groove to collect processing swarf produced by the processing unit.
PROCESS FOR CLEANUP AND RECYCLING OF ROLLING OILS
A method for cleanup of circulated rolling oil including gravity separation followed by size separation. The method includes supplying the circulated roiling oil to a separation chamber of a rotating centrifugal rotor and separating water and solid debris from the circulated rolling oil by centrifugal force. Oil, oil-water emulsion, and some residual debris may be recovered and supplied to a ceramic membrane having a pore size of 1.5 micron or smaller. A purified oil sample is recovered from the membrane, along with a reject including the oil-water emulsion and residual debris. The reject may be further concentrated by gravity separation and recycled to the membrane to recover further amounts of oil.
TELESCOPIC COVER
A telescopic cover for covering a linear motion mechanism in which a movable part is driven in a horizontal direction. The telescopic cover includes a plurality of cover pieces arranged in a nested manner and supported in a movable manner in a driving direction of the movable part. Of two internally and externally adjoining cover pieces, an outer cover piece has a wiper for wiping an outer surface of an inner cover piece. The inner cover piece has a weir part standing upright from the outer surface thereof toward an inner surface of the outer cover piece at an edge of an area constantly overlapping the outer cover piece, and a cutaway part formed by cutting away at least a portion of the weir part or the area to communicate between an inside and an outside of the inner cover piece.
Method and assembly for the treatment of the atmosphere in a storage space for vegetable products
A method of treating the atmosphere of a storage of vegetable products with a volume greater than 200 m.sup.3, wherein the method comprises at least one step of contacting the atmosphere with a liquid flow by circulation in a packing. A treatment unit of the atmosphere of a storage of vegetable products having a volume greater than 200 m.sup.3, wherein the unit comprises a contacting device comprising a packing, a device for injecting a liquid flow into the contacting device, a device for circulating the storage atmosphere in the contacting device, wherein the contacting device is so designed that the atmosphere is brought into contact with the liquid flow by circulation in the packing.
Minimum quantity lubrication system and method
A minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) system includes a controller, a lubricant module coupled to a tool spindle of a machining apparatus, and a pneumatic module coupled to the spindle. The lubricant module is configured to supply lubricant at pressure to the tool, as controlled by the controller. Likewise, the pneumatic module is configured to supply pressurized air to the tool, as controlled by the controller. The controller is configured to direct the lubricant module to supply lubricant prior to the controller receiving a START signal from a machine tool controller. Optionally, the lubricant pressure level is predetermined based on known characteristics of the tool that is coupled to the spindle. Optionally, the START signal is anticipated by referring to a signature/profile of the operational steps of a machining process where a timeline or time table of lubrication request intervals are identified.
Method of securing and transferring a load between a vessel and an offshore installation and an apparatus therefor
The offshore jack-up has a hull and a plurality of moveable legs engageable with the seafloor. The offshore jack-up is arranged to move the legs with respect to the hull to position the hull out of the water. The method comprises moving at least a portion of a vessel underneath the hull of the offshore jack-up or within a cut-out of the hull when the hull is positioned out of the water and the legs engage the seafloor. A stabilizing mechanism mounted on the jack-up is engaged against the vessel. The stabilizing mechanism is pushed down on the vessel to increase the buoyant force acting on the vessel.
ADJUSTABLE ABRASIVE AND DUST SEPARATOR
Provided is a centrifuge media separator for separating blast particulate from fine particulate carried by air flowing from a blast cabinet and through the media separator. The centrifuge media separator comprises an upper panel, a lower panel, and an outer wall. The upper panel has a central opening formed therein. The outer wall is configured in a truncated logarithmic shape and which extends between the upper and lower panels. The outer wall has at least one particulate escape aperture formed therein. The upper panel, lower panel and outer wall collectively define a curvilinear air passageway having an inlet and an outlet. An air foil extends from the outer wall in to the air passageway. The distance than the air foil extends in to the air passageway is adjustable. The inlet is configured to allow a flow of air to enter the air passageway and circulate therethrough toward the outlet. The escape aperture is configured to exhaust the blast particulate out of the passageway. The central opening is configured to exhaust the fine particulate out of the passageway.
Carbon dioxide capturing system and method of operating the same
In one embodiment, a carbon dioxide capturing system includes an absorber to absorb CO2 from first gas into lean liquid, and produce rich liquid that is the lean liquid absorbing the CO2 and second gas that is the first gas removing the CO2, and a regenerator to separate third gas including the CO2 from the rich liquid flowing from the absorber, and provide the lean liquid and the third gas. The system further includes a flowmeter to measure a flow rate of the third gas, a liquid level gauge to measure a liquid level of the lean liquid and/or the rich liquid, and a controller to regulate a quantity of heat energy supplied to the regenerator based on the flow rate of the third gas, and regulate a total amount of the lean liquid and the rich liquid in the system based on the liquid level.
Method and apparatus for optimizing self-power consumption of an electronic device
A device and method are disclosed for optimizing self-power consumption. The device may sense one or more operating conditions of the device. The device may further select one or more operating parameters associated with at least one of the one or more operating conditions. The device may also estimate a power consumption associated with executing an algorithm to generate at least one updated value for at least one of the one or more operating parameters as well as estimate a power savings associated with operating using the updated value. The device may compare the estimated power consumption to the estimated power savings and determine whether to execute the algorithm based on the comparing.
Generalized jet-effect and generalized generator
The invention provides a method for computational fluid dynamics and apparatuses making enable an efficient implementation and use of an enhanced jet-effect, either the Coanda-jet-effect, the hydrophobic jet-effect, or the waving-jet-effect, triggered by specifically shaped corpuses and tunnels. The method is based on the approaches of the kinetic theory of matter providing generalized equations of fluid motion and is generalized and translated into terms of electromagnetism. The method is applicable for slow-flowing as well as fast-flowing real compressible-extendable generalized fluids and enables optimal design of convergent-divergent nozzles, providing for the most efficient jet-thrust. The method can be applied to airfoil shape optimization for bodies flying separately and in a multi-stage cascaded sequence. The method enables apparatuses for electricity harvesting from the fluid heat-energy, providing a positive net-efficiency. The method enables generators for practical-expedient power harvesting using constructive interference of waves due to the waving jet-effect.
