Methods and systems for coordinating predictive cruise control, engine-off coasting, and hybrid power split
The enclosed disclosure relates to hybrid vehicles and systems with an engine, a drivetrain with a clutch and a transmission, an electric machine, and a controller. The controller receives lookahead information within a lookahead window and present state information of the hybrid vehicle. The controller determines a predicted coasting opportunity exceeding a predetermined threshold within the lookahead window and determines a cruise control reference speed, a power split between the engine and the electric machine, and a timing of enabling engine-off coasting during the coasting opportunity. The controller deactivates the engine and disengages the clutch at a start of the coasting opportunity when the engine-off coasting is enabled.
Apparatus and method for controlling driving of vehicle
An apparatus and a method for controlling driving of a vehicle may include a first sensor that detects whether an accelerator pedal is pressed, a second sensor that detects a number of RPM of an engine, and a controller that determines whether the vehicle coasts based on whether the accelerator pedal is pressed, and determines whether to change a gear ratio of a transmission based on the number of RPM of the engine so that the coasting distance is increased in the coasting deceleration section, improving the fuel efficiency.

Coasting Regeneration Control Method and Device of Vehicle with Continuously Variable Valve Duration Engine
A coasting regeneration control method of a vehicle equipped with a continuously variable valve duration (CVVD) engine includes: determining, by an engine control unit (ECU), whether a current state of the vehicle satisfies coasting regeneration conditions; and entering, by the ECU, a coasting regeneration mode and performing regenerative braking when the current state of the vehicle satisfies the coasting regeneration conditions, in which when the coasting regeneration mode is entered, a throttle valve is fully opened so that the amount of intake air of the engine is maximized, a CVVD target duration is controlled to be maximized, and a closing time of an intake valve is delayed after a start point of time of a compression stroke, thereby decreasing pumping loss of the engine.
Driving force control device
The driving force control device includes: a requested driving force calculation unit configured to calculate requested driving force requested to the vehicle, in a coasting state where neither an accelerator operation nor a brake operation is performed by a driver; a power train control unit configured to control a gear ratio of the power train on the basis of the requested driving force and driving force that is achieved by the power train in the coasting state; a braking force calculation unit configured to calculate braking force required for achieving the requested driving force, when the requested driving force is smaller than driving force that is achieved by the power train at a gear ratio set by the power train control unit; and a brake control unit configured to cause the brake to generate the braking force calculated by the braking force calculation unit.
Vehicle control apparatus
A control apparatus for a vehicle, which is provided with an engine and drive wheels, is configured, during an inertia running or stop of the vehicle, to execute a control for stopping the engine and/or disconnecting the engine from the drive wheels in each area, depending on whether a condition is satisfied or not. The condition is set based on an information transferred from other vehicle in which the control is executable during an inertia running or stop of the other vehicle. The information includes (a) a location information indicative of the each area and (b) an acceleration representative value representing a required acceleration of the other vehicle required by an operator of the other vehicle in the each area. The acceleration representative value is associated with the location information indicative of the each area.
Internal combustion engine control method and internal combustion engine control device
In the case of restarting an internal combustion engine that has been automatically stopped during running, the internal combustion engine is restarted by combustion recovery starting when the rotation speed of the internal combustion engine under the input of a restart request is greater than or equal to a predetermined first rotation speed. In the case of restarting the internal combustion engine that has been automatically stopped during running, the internal combustion engine is restarted by cranking recovery starting when the rotation speed of the internal combustion engine under the input of the restart request is lower than the predetermined first rotation speed. The first rotation speed is set lower at the restart of the internal combustion engine in a sailing stop state than at the restart of the internal combustion engine in a coast stop state.
Method of controlling engine restart of vehicle
A method of controlling engine restart may include selecting, by a start controller, a first start situation and a second start situation for restarting an engine; determining a current possible start-up through the first and second start situations; prioritizing possible start-ups; and attempting to restart the engine by setting the first and second start situations as first start control and second start control, respectively, based on the priorities of the start-ups.
Coasting driving control method and system for vehicle
A coasting driving control method and system for a vehicle may determine virtual engine RPM for a current driving state using engine RPM, vehicle speed, and gear stage information by a controller when coasting is started with the clutch in the neutral position and outputs a downshifting instruction signal for a gear stage by the controller when the virtual engine RPM is less than a coasting engine RPM which is greater than an idling RPM by a predetermined value.
Vehicle control device and vehicle control method
A vehicle control device comprising: a balance gradient calculation unit configured to calculate a balance gradient that is a gradient at which a propulsive force of the vehicle and a resistance force applied to the vehicle are balanced when the vehicle travels in a gear-in coasting state in which an engine is connected to a gear and the vehicle travels without supplying fuel to the engine, in a case where a traveling state of the vehicle is a neutral coasting state; and a traveling control unit configured to: switch, based on the calculated balance gradient and a specified road gradient, the traveling state of the vehicle from the neutral coasting state to the gear-in coasting state in a case where the traveling state of the vehicle is the neutral coasting state; and end, the gear-in coasting state when determining that an end condition is satisfied.
