Air-conditioning duct structure of aircraft, aircraft, and method of manufacturing aircraft

An air-conditioning duct structure of an aircraft includes an air-conditioning duct that is provided on each of a starboard side and a port side and guides conditioned air to a vicinity of a ceiling of a cabin in the aircraft. The air-conditioning duct includes a blowout portion and a blowout upstream portion. The blowout portion blows out the conditioned air to the cabin from an outboard side of the ceiling to an inboard side of the ceiling and toward a lower part than the ceiling, and the blowout upstream portion communicates with an upstream side of the blowout portion. In addition, the blowout portion or the blowout upstream portion is curved to cause a terminal end side of the blowout portion to be inclined downward with respect to a horizontal direction.

A power recharging system may include an electrical conductor connected to a first aircraft and configured to connect to a second aircraft while the aircrafts are in flight. An AC signal may be induced in the electrical conductor it is in proximity to a changing magnetic field. The system may include a first rectifier circuit at the first aircraft that converts the AC signal into a DC signal for charging the first aircraft and a second rectifier circuit at the second aircraft that converts the AC signal into a second DC signal for charging the second aircraft. The electrical conductor may be part of a communication line. A communication system at the first aircraft may send and receive data communications via the communication line.

Aircraft environmental control system

An aircraft environmental control system comprising a fresh air input and a RAM air input, heat exchanger means for receiving fresh air from the fresh air input and RAM air from the RAM air input and using the RAM air to cool the fresh air, and means for providing the cooled fresh air to a cabin of the aircraft, the system further comprising means for feeding back exhaust air emitted from the interior of the aircraft to combine with the RAM air to further cool the fresh air, whereby the heat exchanger means comprises a main heat exchanger and a primary heat exchanger; wherein the main heat exchanger comprising a main heat exchanger cooling fluid inlet, a main heat exchanger cooling fluid outlet and a main heat exchanger bleed air inlet, the cooling fluid working to cool bleed air in the main heat exchanger.

Control device, control method, and flight vehicle device

[Object] To provide a control device which enables a flight vehicle device to obtain a highly precise image. [Solution] Provided is the control device including an illuminating control unit configured to adjust a light amount of an illuminating device according to an inclination of a body of a flight vehicle device that has an imaging device configured to photograph a photographing target and the illuminating device configured to illuminate the photographing target.

Triboelectric charge harvesting device

A device for harvesting and storing triboelectric charge generated on an exterior surface of a moving vehicle is provided. It is characterised by comprising; a supercapacitor comprised of nano-carbon-containing electrodes; an ionic liquid electrolyte and at least one ion-permeable porous membrane; at least one first element exposed to aerodynamically-induced frictional forces acting thereon and on which the charge is caused to build up and connected to at least one of the electrodes of one polarity; at least one second element having a lower electrostatic potential than the charge-collecting element and connected to at least one of the electrodes of the other polarity; a voltage modification or impedance conversion circuit arranged between the first and/or second elements and the supercapacitor; means to connect the device to an operative component requiring electrical power and a controller for managing the performance of the device and switching between energy-harvesting and energy-utilisation modes. The device is especially use for deployment in the wing of an aircraft to utilised triboelectric charge generated thereon.

Electrical system having two rotary electric machines coupled to two gas turbine spools

Electrical systems for connecting rotary electric machines with gas turbine spools are provided. One such electrical system comprises: a first rotary electric machine mechanically coupled with a first gas turbine spool and a second rotary electric machine mechanically coupled with a second gas turbine spool, each said electric machine having an identical even number N≥4 of phases, each phase having a respective index n=(1, . . . , N), and each phase comprising an identical number P≥1 of coils wound in a P-plex configuration in which adjacent phases are radially separated by 2π/NP mechanical radians; a first set of N bidirectional converter circuits for conversion of alternating current (ac) to and from direct current (dc), each converter circuit having a respective index n and being connected with the P coils in the nth phase of the first rotary electric machine; and a second set of N bidirectional converter circuits for conversion of ac to and from dc, each converter circuit having a respective index n and being connected with the P coils in the nth phase of the second rotary electric machine. For all n, a dc side of the nth converter circuit in said first set is connected with a dc side of the nth converter circuit in said second set to facilitate dc power transfer between the first gas turbine spool and the second gas turbine spool.

Alternate fresh air compressor intake for environmental control system

An environmental control system of an aircraft including a compression device including a compressor having a compressor inlet and a compressor outlet, a primary inlet for supplying a first medium to the compressor inlet, and a secondary inlet for supplying a second medium to the compressor inlet.

VTOL aircraft

A VTOL aircraft has fixed wings and a rotor blade system for providing lift in active and passive modes thereof. Operation of the rotor blade system may be switched between the active mode in which the rotor blade system is driven by a power system of the aircraft and the passive mode in which the rotor blade system is not driven by the power system, the rotor blade system being configurable to provide lift in the passive mode during forward flight of the aircraft. The rotor blade system provides lift in the passive mode, allowing the fixed wings to be shorter than in the case where the rotor system provides lift during vertical take-off and landing but otherwise has no function, thus providing aircraft which is lighter, more compact and more efficient than similar aircraft of the prior art.
