PROCESS AND PLANT FOR TREATING WASTEWATER CONTAINING MICROPOLLUTANTS OF PHARMACEUTICAL ORIGIN
A completely biological method for removing a first group of micropollutants of pharmaceutical origin and a second group of micropollutants of pharmaceutical origin from raw wastewater includes: providing a first buffer tank upstream of a bioreactor; providing a moving bed membrane bioreactor (MB-MBR) for developing biomass growth both on a fixed support and in suspension in a form of flocs, and on mobile supports, the bioreactor obtaining an effluent with a COD concentration of organic matter of less than 50 mg l.sup.−1 and a total nitrogen concentration of less than 15 mg l.sup.1; providing a biofiltration tank, separate from the first buffer tank of the bioreactor, that includes one or more biologically activated carbon (BAC) columns containing activated carbon; supplying the first buffer tank upstream of the bioreactor with raw wastewater containing micropollutants of pharmaceutical origin; pretreating the wastewater by passing the wastewater through a fine mesh sieve.
COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR URIC ACID REMOVAL
This invention relates to a composition comprising: (a) 10-20 wt % acidifying bacteria, (b) 30-40 wt % of an oxidising agent, (c) 5-15 wt % of an organic acid, and (d) 1-10 wt % of a chelating agent. The invention also relates to a method of removing uric acid from a waste pipe comprising the step of inserting the composition into the waste pipe.
Method of Processing By-Product Water for Optimal Beneficial Use
A process for batch processing by-product water to obtain a batch of beneficial use water for application to an targeted area of soil with determined moisture and chemical characteristic to change that soil characteristic to a desired soil characteristic includes the steps of measuring the moisture and chemical composition of the targeted area of soil; determining a desired soil characteristic that will grow selected vegetation; defining a chemical composition of a batch water to be applied to the soil to obtain the desired composition; processing a batch of by-product water in accordance with the defined composition; applying the batch of processed water to the targeted area of soil; measuring the moisture and chemical composition of the soil after application; repeating the process until desired composition is achieved or the vegetation growth is completed.
BIOREACTOR SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR NITRIFICATION AND DENITRIFICATION
A method and system for the nitrification and denitrification of septic effluent, e.g. from a domestic septic tank, is disclosed comprising a variable speed pump system for constant continuous flow and a recycle mechanism to increase efficacy in producing a final denitrified effluent suitable for discharge to ground or surface waters.
Wetland System for Treating Domestic Wastewater and Rainwater and Application Thereof
A wetland system has a wetland structure and a wastewater treatment device. The wetland structure has several planting areas surrounded by hoardings, several planting frames arranged in the hoardings, growing substrates provided in the planting frames, and wetland plants growing on the growing substrates. The wastewater treatment device has a bar screen, a regulating tank, a hydrolysis acidification tank, a contact oxidation tank, an MBR membrane tank, and a clean water tank that are in communication with each other in sequence of waterflow and arranged underground. The bar screen is provided with several bars therein, a lift pump is connected between the regulating tank and the hydrolysis acidification tank, a drainage pump is provided between the MBR membrane tank and the clean water tan. The planting area is connected to the bar screen via pipelines, and the clean water tank is connected to the planting area via pipelines.
SPOUT NOZZLE FOR SCUM REMOVAL DEVICE AND WATER CONDUIT WITH THAT SPOUT NOZZLE FOR SCUM REMOVAL DEVICE
A spout nozzle for a scum removal device provided in water where scum floats: a tip-end-side nozzle part of a nozzle body is formed in a flat cylindrical shape; a valve body closing a discharging opening by its own weight when pressure water is not supplied is provided in the tip-end-side nozzle part; a closing part closing an opening above the discharging opening when the discharging opening is closed is provided on the valve body; therefore, resistance is small even if it is arranged in water and moreover an interior is hardly stained by scum and the like contained in water.
