A low-profile fluid collection conduit includes an elongate outer cover having an upper portion and a lower portion generally opposite the upper portion, with the outer cover being much wider than it is tall and defining an interior volume. An elongate rigid spacer is fitted within the interior volume of the elongate outer cover, with the elongate spacer allowing the majority of the interior volume to be unfilled so as to permit the flow of fluid along and within the elongate outer cover. The collection conduit is used with a fluid-impermeable membrane as part of a landfill fluid collection and conveyance system.

Spreader for sediment capping system and method

A sediment capping system is adapted to create, and distribute, a homogenized mixture of capping material. Where distributing the capping material, the system is configured to militate against the capping material forming clumps of a size and weight that would disturb the sediment on a bottom of a body of water. This in turn militates against the sediment being disturbed, and a disturbing of pollutants and toxins into the water surrounding the sediment. The sediment capping system militates against the clumping of capping material through a vibrating spreader and baffle system, producing a sediment cap with a more consistent depth that will minimally disturb the sediment on the floor of the body of water where the sediment cap is being deposited.

There is provided a geomembrane consisting of a multilayer structure comprising a barrier layer (A), an adhesive layer (B) made of an acid-modified thermoplastic resin and a thermoplastic resin layer (C), wherein the thermoplastic resin layer (C) is laminated on at least one side of the barrier layer (A) via the adhesive layer (B), and the barrier layer (A) has an ethylene unit content of 18 mol % or more and 55 mol % or less and comprises a modified ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer comprising a modifying group having a primary hydroxyl group. The geomembrane exhibits excellent peer strength between the barrier layer and the adhesive layer, exhibits further improved peel strength after prolonged exposure to high temperature and high humidity conditions.

Landfill gas extraction systems and methods

Described herein are embodiments of a control system that automatically (1) determines whether a gas extraction system is in a state in which landfill gas is being released into the atmosphere, and (2) automatically controls landfill gas flow to mitigate, prevent and/or stop the release of landfill gas. The control system may control a valve to control flow of landfill gas through well piping of the gas extraction system. The pressure of landfill gas in the well piping at a location upstream of the valve may indicate whether there is a risk of landfill gas being released into the atmosphere. The control system may adjust a position of the valve in response to determining that the pressure at the location upstream of the valve indicates that there is a risk of landfill gas being released into the atmosphere.

System and method for applying covering material with an aerosolization system

A method for effective and efficient water or wastewater aerosolization and industry specific and regulatory agency approved ADC, soil stabilization or penetrating solution dissemination over identified and specific areas that are to be addressed. The water or wastewater and industry or regulatory body specifically approved ADC, soil stabilization or penetrating reagent solution(s) is directed to an Integrated Mobile Aerosolization System (IMAS) or other system having a turbine and being integrated and mobile. The turbine is driven so as to generate a system of air. Integrated pumps are utilized to move the water or wastewater and industry or regulatory body specific and ADC, soil stabilization or penetrating reagent solution(s) to a series of nozzles that aerosolizes the water or wastewater and ADC, soil stabilization or penetrating reagent solution into the path of the system of air. The water or wastewater and ADC, soil stabilization or penetrating reagent solution form a mixture that is entrained in the system of air. The mixture of water or wastewater and ADC, soil stabilizing or penetrating reagent solution is directed over a specific area that is to be covered with an approved material. The water or wastewater and ADC, soil stabilization or penetrating reagent solution form that industry specific and regulatory body approved covering material that is applied to the specific area.

Landfill gas extraction control system throttle
10851627 · 2020-12-01 · ·

A system for extracting landfill gas from a landfill is provided. According to some embodiments, a control system for landfill gas extraction is provided. The control system uses a throttle to control flow of landfill gas extracted from the landfill. The throttle is actuated in use to vary the flow of gas between a well and a gas collection system, in accordance with a control algorithm that adjusts flow as a parameter in controlling gas extraction. The throttle is configured to ensure that there is at least some flow of landfill gas from the landfill to a gas output throughout operation. The extraction system provides an efficient system for landfill gas extraction, while mitigating a risk of creating undesired or unpleasant conditions and/or of violating regulations during operation.
