ORGANIC WASTE PROCESSING DEVICE AND METHOD
There is provided an organic waste processing device comprising: an organic matter-receiving container defining an organic matter-receiving chamber; a gas-propelling unit; a gas-plenum chamber in gas communication with the gas-propelling unit; and a grinding assembly at least partially contained in the organic matter-receiving chamber. The grinding assembly comprises a drive shaft and a rotatable blade assembly including a blade support sleeve mounted to the drive shaft and being engaged in rotation therewith. The rotatable blade assembly further includes at least one blade mounted to the blade support sleeve. An inner surface of the blade support sleeve is spaced-apart from an outer peripheral surface of the drive shaft to define a gas flow channel extending longitudinally into the griding assembly and providing gas communication between the gas-plenum chamber and the organic matter-receiving chamber.
Waste water treatment to reduce BOD/COD
A waste water treatment system for removing contaminant chemicals, bacteria and organic matter to reduce the chemical oxygen demand (COD) and the biological oxygen demand (BOD). The system uses thermal energy to remove chemicals that can be oxidized to reduce the COD, and to destroy bacteria and organic matter to reduce the BOD of the treated water. The system can include an expansion chamber and a nozzle to create steam which can be used as thermal energy to heat the waste water and provide the proper treatment to reduce the COD and BOD of the processed waste water.
METHODS FOR PROMOTING PLANT HEALTH USING FREE ENZYMES AND MICROORGANISMS THAT OVEREXPRESS ENZYMES
Methods for stimulating plant growth and/or promoting plant health using free enzymes or recombinant microorganisms that overexpress enzymes are provided. Plant seeds coated with free enzymes or recombinant microorganisms that overexpress enzymes are also provided. Compositions comprising a fertilizer and an enzyme or a recombinant microorganism that overexpresses an enzyme are provided. Modified enzymes having ACC deaminase activity, recombinant microorganisms expressing the modified enzymes, plant seeds treated with the modified enzymes or recombinant microorganisms, and methods for stimulating plant growth and/or promoting plant health using the modified enzymes or recombinant microorganisms are also provided.
POTASSIUM MIXTURES COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS
Composition and methods of applying potassium mixtures are disclosed. Applications include: fertilizer and fertilizer additives, freeze conditioning, dust control, coating oil, and fire prevention.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING DISEASE SUPPRESSION
Provided herein are compositions, systems, and methods for treating plants, soil, fungal, and/or pathogens. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to compositions having one or more microbial metabolites from a microbial cell bath mixture for the treatment of harmful plant, agriculture, and/or soil pathogens, and also relates to methods of making and using the compositions.
FREEZE CONCENTRATION FOR URINE-BASED FERTILIZER PRODUCTION
A system for generating a concentrated product from a feedstock includes a feedstock chamber to which the feedstock is provided, a heat exchanger assembly in thermal communication with the feedstock chamber, the heat exchanger assembly being configured to freeze the feedstock in the feedstock chamber, an output flow arrangement configured to carry liquid from the feedstock chamber as the feedstock thaws, the output flow arrangement comprising a flow controller, a sensor disposed along the output flow arrangement or the heat exchanger assembly, the sensor being configured to measure a characteristic of the liquid, the characteristic being indicative of a solute concentration level of the liquid or the heat exchanger assembly, and a processor responsive to the characteristic and configured to control the flow controller to, based on the solute concentration level, direct the liquid passing through the output flow arrangement to define a plurality of products at different concentration levels, the plurality of products comprising the concentrated product.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREATING WASTE STREAMS
According to present disclosure, there is disclosed an algae growth and cultivation system that provides a cost-efficient means of producing algae biomass as feedstock for algae-based products, such as, fertilizer, feed, biofuel manufacture, and desirably impacts, nutrient recovery from waste streams for valued byproducts production, recycle water, and alternative/renewable energy production. The system as discussed herein is an integrated systems approach to wastewater treatment, algal strains selection for byproducts production, and recycle of algal biomass-processing waste or additional algae harvested as feedstock for products such as fertilizer production. Embodiments of a system as discussed herein present an economically viable algae production system and process that allows algae-derived products such as fertilizer, feed, biofuels, etc. to compete with non-organic or petroleum products in the marketplace.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF COMPOSTING
A system and method for monitoring a network of IoT composting end-devices comprising one or more IoT compost bins, IoT composters, remote monitoring devices, and personal user devices. Each IoT composting end-device may have an embedded wireless communication module and sensors to measure an amount of compostable material contained therein. Measurements may be aggregated for user groups, households, communities, etc. and converted into metrics of aggregated amounts, sustainability, compost quality, composting cycle stage, status, composting conditions, and other parameters, which may be posted on a public forum to track and encourage community composting.
Process and plant for separating off and/or recovering nitrogen compounds from a liquid or sludge substrate
The invention relates to a process for separating off and/or recovering nitrogen compounds, in particular for separating off ammonia and/or recovering or producing nitrogen fertilizer, from a liquid or sludge substrate, in which a liquid or sludge substrate is introduced into a degassing vessel to which subatmospheric pressure is applied and ammonia gas formed is introduced by means of a vacuum pump into at least one scrubber which is located downstream of the degassing vessel and to which subatmospheric pressure is applied and into which acid is introduced, wherein the acid or an ammonium salt-containing liquid obtained in the at least one scrubber is taken off from the at least one scrubber, cooled and subsequently sprayed back into the at least one scrubber. The invention further relates to a plant for carrying out such a process.
METHODS FOR INCREASING BIOSOLIDS CAKE DRYNESS THROUGH A FORCED VENTILATION AERATED STATIC PILE BIOLOGICAL DRYING PROCESS
An example method for drying wastewater solids can include blending an anaerobically digested and de-watered biosolid cake with a previously biodried biosolid to form a mixed biomaterial pile and shaping the mixed biomaterial pile to form a static pile. The method also includes aerating the static pile by forced air ventilation throughout the mixed biomaterial pile to form a biodried material and dividing the biodried material into a recycle biosolid and a dried biomaterial product that is then suitable for disposal or use in agriculture or horticulture applications.
