A distributed energy resource (DER) may store electrical power from an AC circuit and discharge stored electrical power to the AC circuit. A DER may be coupled to the AC circuit via a plug inserted into a receptacle coupled to the AC circuit, and a load device may be plugged into the DER via a receptacle of the DER. The DER may pass AC power from the AC circuit to the load device, and may draw additional power from the AC circuit to charge an energy storage circuit of the DER. The DER may also discharge stored energy into the AC circuit and/or power the load device directly.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LIGHTING CONTROL

Lighting units, systems, and methods are described herein for determining whether occupancy detections are legitimate or not. Methods and systems are further described herein for powering down a network of power over ethernet (PoE) components.

Systems, apparatuses, and methods for realizing a modular inverter system having an orientation of two or more DC busses and an AC bus disposed on the same backplane having peripheral interfaces for engaging one or more swappable modules. Such a modular inverter system includes a backplane having a first side and a second opposite side, the first side supports the DC busses and an AC bus while the second side includes a plurality of peripheral interfaces. One or more power modules may be engaged with the backplane through one of the plurality of peripheral interfaces such that the at least one power module is electrically coupled to a DC bus and electrically coupled to the AC bus. With the DC busses and the AC bus disposed on the opposite side of the peripheral interfaces, the power module is physically isolated from the back side of the backplane and allows for more than one local power generator to be coupled to the system.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING AND MONITORING SCALABLE MODULAR ELECTRIC DEVICES

Systems, apparatuses, and methods for a modular inverter system having a system controller module that includes several electronic switches that may be controlled to couple various nodes in the system controller module to various circuits coupled to input/output terminals at the modular inverter system to realize various modes of operation. Such modes of operation may include powering a local load (e.g., a house) with locally generated power as well as charging a local battery stack and selling excess power to a utility company that provides a grid tie-in. Such control may be automated based on monitoring various control signals or may be manually invoked by a system operator.

Methods and systems for managing, tracking, and displaying power usage information in connection with colocation datacenters are described. In particular, one or more current transformers determine an amount of current associated with breaker positions of a breaker panel. The current readings may then be used to construct one or more virtual circuits. Access to the current and power readings associated with the virtual circuit is provided to clients via a communication network. Additionally, the current readings may be utilized to track actual current and/or power use in conjunction with one or more client allocated amounts of power.

REMOTE CONTROLLED CIRCUIT BREAKER PANEL SYSTEM

A electrical distribution system has been developed to provide a remote central control point for individual circuits, and methods have been developed for retrofitting it to existing service panels or installing it into new service panels. This system provides a power circuit monitoring and control system that fits inside standard residential service panels, both new and retrofitted panels. The entire system can be retrofitted into existing breaker panel systems without the need of removing any permanent structure such as a wall. During this retrofit process, the panel cover on the existing distribution panel is first removed after the power to it is disconnected. The old breaker assembly is removed from the panel, and a circuit controller is then installed in the now available space within the panel. A new service panel enclosure with a circuit breaker assembly is installed directly over top of the enclosure.
