A system may be provided that includes an adaptor connected to a dimmer and virtual three-way switch. The virtual three-way switch can be for a lamp plugged into wall-switched receptacle. The virtual three-way switch can control a lamp, appliance, or any device that is connected to the three-way switch by one or more of the connected switches, independent of the position of the unused switch. The virtual three-way switch may include a power input that receives power from a first power source, a sensor detecting a state change of a second power source, a user input sensor receiving a user command, and a power output delivering received power at a rate as function of the state change and of the user command. The virtual three-way switch can be connected to a user input device that is waiting to receive a command. The power output can deliver power to a connected device.

An apparatus and a method for optically linking at least two AC and DC low voltage cascading power grids connecting at least two intelligent support boxes (ISB) each powered by two distinct AC standard power grid and separately powered by DC low voltage power grid with each grid is further linked by a cascading segments of optical cable grid, enabling two way control, operate and report electrical activity through plug in wiring devices (PWD) for supporting DC and AC plurality of connected/attached loads.

Intelligent lighting control apparatuses, systems, and methods

The present disclosure provides light switch modules and methods of implementing a light switch module for a lighting control system. The light switch modules include a light switch actuator including an actuation surface. The light switch actuator is movable to connect an electrical flow path and to activate a tactile display housed in the light switch actuator. One or more tactile motions are applied on the actuation surface of the light switch actuator for selecting a lighting setting from among a plurality of lighting settings using the tactile display.

DISCONNECTOR DEVICE WITH PASSIVE RADIO DEVICE, GRID PROTECTION SYSTEM HAVING THE DISCONNECTOR DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR INDICATING A STATE OF THE DISCONNECTOR DEVICE

A disconnector device is connectable to pole-mounted equipment in a power grid. The disconnector device is activated in case of an overload condition, thereby disconnecting the pole-mounted equipment. The disconnector device comprises a passive radio device to be enabled via an incoming radio signal. The passive radio device, upon being enabled, transmits, in at least one state of the disconnector device, an indicator radio signal indicative of the respective state of the disconnector device, the state being one of an activated state and a deactivated state of the disconnector device.

Switch

A switch that includes a sensor device capable of transmitting data related to a sensor signal of at least one sensor of the sensor device to an external unit through wireless communication.

Battery-powered control device including a rotating portion

Provided herein are examples of a remote control device that provides a retrofit solution for an existing switched control system. The remote control device may comprise a control circuit, a rotatable portion, a magnetic ring coupled to the rotatable portion, and first and second Hall-effect sensor circuits configured to generate respective first and second sensor control signals in response to magnetic fields generated by the magnetic elements. The control circuit may operate in a normal mode when the rotatable portion is being rotated, and in a reduced-power mode when the rotatable portion is not being rotated. The control circuit may disable the second Hall-effect sensor circuit in the reduced-power mode. The control circuit may detect movement of the rotatable portion in response to the first sensor control signal in the reduced-power mode and enable the second Hall-effect sensor circuit in response to detecting movement of the rotatable portion.

Detecting actuations of buttons of a control device

A load control device may be used to control and deliver power to an electrical load. The load control device may comprise a control circuit for controlling the power delivered to the electrical load. The load control device may comprise multiple actuators, where each of the actuators is connected between a terminal of the control circuit and a current regulating device. The number of the actuators may be greater than the number of the terminals. The control circuit may measure signals at the terminals and determine a state configuration for the actuators based on the measured signals. The control circuit may compare the state configuration to a predetermined dataset to detect a ghosting condition.

REMOTE-CONTROLLED SWITCH COVER ASSEMBLY

A remote-controlled switch cover assembly is described for converting an existing rocker switch into a remote-controlled switch. The remote-controlled switch cover assembly receives a wireless signal to actuate the existing rocker switch and, in response, activates an electric motor that causes a gear train to turn in a first direction. This causes a wiper to engage an under-surface of a tilt plate located above the existing rocker switch and, in response, an opposing end of the tit plate depresses the existing rocker switch.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO ALLOW FOR A SMART DEVICE

Smart switch devices, systems, and methods for modifying an existing electrical system to utilize the power state output of a physical switch as an indicator or signal for the operation of a smart home device or system or network of such devices to facilitate interoperability of physical switches with smart devices. The smart switch detects or determines the power state of a circuit and infers the corresponding state of a mechanical switch that operates the circuit. This information is then transmitted to associated smart devices, which may not be physically connected to the circuit controlled by the switch. When the mechanical switch is operated, it can control both electrically attached loads, such as a conventional light or appliance, and wirelessly control unconnected smart devices.
