Verified high-power transition and fast charging with pre-boot scaling

Systems, apparatuses and methods may provide for technology that initiates a boot of a computing system containing an embedded controller while the computing system is in a low power mode, conducts a verification that code to perform the boot is uncorrupted, and negotiates an increased power delivery with a source device connected to the computing system if the verification is successful.

POWER SUPPLY WITH HIGH AND LOW POWER OPERATING MODES
20230123653 · 2023-04-20 ·

A method for controlling a battery-powered power supply. The method includes generating a first output from a first power supply within the battery-powered power supply. The first output is coupled to an output bus. The method further includes monitoring a voltage of the output bus, and determining, using a controller of the battery-powered power supply, whether the voltage of the output bus is less than a first predetermined level. The method further includes deactivating the first power supply in response to determining that the voltage of the output bus is below the first predetermined level, and generating a second output from a second power supply within the battery-powered power supply. The second output is configured to be coupled to the output bus. The second power supply has a higher output rating than the first power supply.

A power conversion system is coupled between a power grid and a load. The power conversion system includes a battery, a first converter, a second converter and a DC/DC converter. The first converter is configured to selectively convert an input power from the power grid into a first charging power when the power grid is operated normally. The second converter is configured to convert the input power from the power grid into an output power when the power grid is operated normally. The DC/DC converter is electrically connected between the battery and the second converter. The DC/DC converter is configured to convert a storage power in the battery into a backup power when the power grid is not operated normally.

Standby Solution For Extended Run Time Power Systems

A standby solution for extended run time power systems for a load at a telecom site with backup power includes an interface distribution module including a battery bus, a lithium battery electrically connected to the battery bus, a charging rectifier electrically connected to the interface distribution module. The standby solution has a line mode, wherein the charging rectifier maintains a constant maximum voltage level of the lithium battery, a discharge mode, wherein the interface distribution module engages a discharge bias to enable discharge of the lithium battery to the load, and a charge mode, wherein the interface distribution module disengages the discharge bias to disable discharge of the lithium battery.

Site management in an on-demand system

Methods and systems are provided for managing environmental conditions and energy usage associated with a site. One exemplary method of regulating an environment condition at a site involves a server receiving environmental measurement data from a monitoring system at the site via a network, determining an action for an electrical appliance at the site based at least in part on the environmental measurement data and one or more monitoring rules associated with the site, and providing an indication of the action to an actuator for the electrical appliance.

Power distribution system with self-learning low power standby reduction
11625083 · 2023-04-11 · ·

The invention relates to a power distribution system (1), especially a Power-over-Ethernet system, comprising at least one dominant sensor, which may be located within a powered device (4) like a lighting device, and at least one non-dominant sensor, which may be located within another powered device (4), wherein the power distribution system is adapted such that in a system low power mode the at least one dominant sensor (6) consumes power provided by a power providing unit (3) and the at least one non-dominant sensor (6) does not consume the provided power and that the power distribution system (1) switches from the system low power mode to a system high power mode, if the at least one dominant sensor (6) has sensed an event. Since in the system low power mode the at least one non-dominant sensor does not consume power, the power consumption can be reduced.
