Opposed end flaps 1E in longitudinal end portions are formed of at least the topsheet 2 and the backsheet 3. In at least one of the longitudinal end portions, a plurality of the projections 24 of the topsheet 2 protrude outward in the longitudinal direction X beyond the end edge el of the backsheet.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL NONWOVEN MATERIALS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF

Three dimensional nonwoven materials and methods of manufacturing such materials are disclosed. An absorbent article can include an absorbent body and an outer cover. The absorbent article can also include a fluid-entangled nonwoven material. The absorbent body can be disposed between the fluid-entangled nonwoven material and the outer cover. The fluid-entangled nonwoven can include a first surface and a second surface. The nonwoven material can also include a plurality of nodes extending away from abase plane on the first surface towards the absorbent body. The nonwoven material can further include a plurality of openings extending from the first surface to the second surface through the fluid-entangled nonwoven material. Individual openings of the plurality of openings can be disposed between adjacent nodes of the plurality of nodes.

Contoured film with micro-protrusions

A polymeric film is provided, the film comprising one or more land portions that are substantially coplanar in a base plane and a plurality of distended portions separated from one another by the one or more land portions. The distended portions bow distally outward from the base plane. The polymeric film further comprises a plurality of annular micro-protrusions extending outward from the distal film surface, each protrusion having an apex. A portion of the plurality of annular micro-protrusions extends from each of the one or more land portions of the polymeric film and from each of the distended portions of the polymeric film.

The sanitary pad of the present invention includes: (i) a lower cover layer 10 including a straight type body 11 and wing parts 12; (ii) an absorbent pad layer 20 whose both sides are separated from the lower cover layer 10 and only central portion is adhered to the lower cover layer 10, wherein a distal end portion thereof is divided into two hemispherical protrusions 21 and 22; (iii) an upper cover layer 30 laminated on the absorbent pad layer 20; and (iv) side cover layers 40 whose both ends extend from upper edges on both sides of the upper cover layer 30 to both upper end portions of the cover layer 10 in the lateral direction thereof, and middle portions are inserted into a gap formed between the lower cover layer 10 and the separated both side portions of the absorbent pad layer 20.

Substrates having repeating patterns of apertures for absorbent articles

The present disclosure is directed to substrates or topsheets having repeating patterns of apertures for absorbent articles. Each of the repeat units comprises at least three apertures.

Disposable absorbent article having breathable side flaps

A disposable absorbent article having a topsheet; a backsheet; and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, is described. The disposable absorbent article includes a first side edge and an opposing second side edge; a first side flap and an opposing second side flap, each of the first and second side flaps forming at least a portion of the wearer-facing surface, each of the first and second side flaps having a first layer and a second layer. The first layer has a first layer proximal edge and the second layer has a second layer proximal edge. The second layer proximal edge is disposed laterally outboard from the first layer proximal edge.

Fluid distribution material for absorbent articles

A fluid distribution material for use in an absorbent article includes a formed film layer having a user-facing side and a garment-facing side opposite the user-facing side. The formed film layer includes a plurality of apertured protuberances arranged in a pattern having 10 to 40 protuberances per linear inch. Each of the protuberances includes a continuous sidewall extending from the user-facing side. The garment-facing side has a plurality of apertures aligned with the plurality of apertured protuberances and land areas in between the apertures. A nonwoven layer is laminated to the garment-facing side of the formed film layer. The nonwoven layer includes a plurality of continuous fibers extending across the land areas and the plurality of apertures of the formed film layer and attached to the land areas at bond sites.
