Pre-strained laminates and methods for making the same
A laminate comprising a first nonwoven layer comprising a plurality of apertures and a second nonwoven layer is provided. One of the first and second nonwoven layers is a pre-strained layer and is joined to the other one of the first and second nonwoven layers. The other one of the first and second nonwoven layers is a non-pre-strained layer. The pre-strained layer and the non-pre-strained layer together form a three-dimensional laminate.
PATTERNED APERTURED WEBS AND METHODS FOR MAKING THE SAME
A disposable absorbent article having a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed therebetween is described herein. The topsheet includes an array of apertures and a first array of structures which are disposed adjacent the array of apertures. A first plurality of the array of apertures is disposed generally parallel to a longitudinal axis, a second plurality of apertures has a first Absolute Feret angle, and a third plurality of apertures has a second Absolute Feret angle. The first Absolute Feret angle is different than the second Absolute Feret angle.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE
(Object) To prevent leakage of body fluids and to readily transmit pressure from both sides to a center portion in a width direction by bringing an absorbent article into close contact with a crotch area extending from a body fluid discharge portion to a start position of the intergluteal cleft.
(Means of Achieving the Object) A pair of right and left compressed grooves (8, 8) that extend in an approximately longitudinal direction is formed on a surface of a liquid permeable top sheet (3). The compressed grooves (8) have separation distance reduced regions (11), in which a separation distance between the right and left compressed grooves is reduced, formed at the back of a region corresponding to a body fluid discharge portion (H) of a wearer, and also have vastly enlarged portions (10), in which widths of the compressed grooves (8) are enlarged, formed at positions within the separation distance reduced regions (11) and where the separation distance between the right and left compressed grooves (8, 8) becomes minimum.
Absorbent article
Provided is an absorbent article having a top sheet with an opening-formed area in which openings are formed, and non-opening-formed areas in which no openings are formed, said absorbent article being capable of preventing liquid from remaining on the surface of the opening-formed area of the top sheet. In the present invention, the top sheet is a resin sheet having an opening-formed area (12) in which openings are formed, and non-opening-formed areas (5, 14) in which no openings are formed. The opening-formed area (12) is disposed in an outlet-facing area (16) that faces at least an outlet for fluid from a wearer. The top sheet (2) has a blood modifier layer on the surface of at least the outlet-facing area (16). The blood modifier of the blood modifier layer has an inorganic/organic balance (IOB) of 0 to 0.60, a melting point of not more than 45 C., and an aqueous solubility of 0.05 g or less with respect to 100 g of water at 25 C.
Patterned apertured webs
A patterned apertured web is disclosed. The patterned apertured web includes a plurality of land areas in the patterned apertured web and a plurality of apertures defined in the patterned apertured web. At least some land areas of the plurality of land areas surround at least some apertures of the plurality of apertures. The patterned apertured web has an Effective Open Area in the range of about 3% to about 30%, according to the Aperture Test herein. The patterned apertured web has a plurality of Interaperture Distances, according to the Aperture Test herein. The Interaperture Distances have a distribution having a median and a mean.
PATTERNED APERTURED WEBS AND METHODS FOR MAKING THE SAME
A disposable absorbent article having a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed therebetween is described. The topsheet includes a plurality of apertures arranged in a first zone and a first plurality of structures which are disposed adjacent to the first plurality of apertures. The plurality of apertures have an Effective Aperture Area of from between 0.5 mm.sup.2 to about 8 mm.sup.2 as measured by the Aperture/Feret Angle test as described herein, and the topsheet has a top layer and a lower layer, wherein the top layer is more hydrophobic than the lower layer.
Absorbent article with an apertured multi-layered topsheet
An absorbent article (100-1200) is capable of providing comfort to the wearer and can maintain dryness and inhibit the leakage of fluid. The absorbent article (100-1200) includes a multi-layered topsheet (138). The multi-layered topsheet (138) includes a first topsheet layer (106) having an opening (148) and a second topsheet layer (108) disposed under the first topsheet layer (106). The first topsheet layer (106) and the second topsheet layer (108) are joined together by a seal that, in one embodiment, generally corresponds with the shape of the opening (148). Further, a first sub-topsheet layer (116) is situated beneath the multi-layered topsheet (138) and has an opening (150) that is smaller than the first topsheet layer opening (148). This combination of openings (148, 150) situated one below the other provides for an absorbent article (100-1200) that can maintain a high level of dryness and its ability to conform to the wearer's body, and inhibit the leakage of bodily fluids due to a funnel-like effect.
Nonwoven material having discrete three-dimensional deformations with wide base openings that are base bonded to additional layer
A composite sheet that includes a first sheet and a second sheet is disclosed. The first and second sheets are bonded to each other at a number of spaced apart discrete inter-sheet bond locations. The first sheet is a nonwoven material that has discrete three-dimensional deformations therein forming protrusions that extend outward from the first surface of the first sheet to their distal ends and wide base openings adjacent to the second surface of the first sheet. The second sheet is a generally planar sheet that contacts the distal ends of the protrusions on the first sheet. The second sheet is bonded to the first sheet at spaced apart inter-sheet bond locations where the first region of the first sheet contacts the second sheet.
MOIR? EFFECT LAMINATES AND METHODS FOR MAKING THE SAME
A laminate comprises a first layer comprising a plurality of lower opacity zones positioned within a higher opacity zone is provided. The plurality of lower opacity zones form a first pattern. The laminate comprises a second layer comprising a second pattern. The laminate comprises a non-joined span of the first and second layers having a dimension of at least about 20 mm. A first portion of the second pattern is visible through at least some of the plurality of lower opacity zones when the first layer, within the non-joined span, is in a first position relative to the second layer, within the non-joined span. A second portion of the second pattern is visible through at least some of the plurality of lower opacity zones when the first layer, within the non-joined span, is in a second position relative to the first layer, within the non-joined span.
