Sensor systems comprising auxiliary articles
A sensor system for detecting a property of or within an absorbent article may comprise an absorbent article and an auxiliary article.
Non-invasive pressure-mitigation apparatuses for improving blood flow and associated systems and methods
Introduced here are apparatuses and systems for mitigating contact pressures applied to a human body by the surface of an object, such as a chair, bed, or table. A pressure-mitigation apparatus can include a series of chambers whose pressure can be individually varied. When placed between a patient and a contact surface, the pressure-mitigation apparatus can vary the contact pressure on a specific anatomical region of the patient by controllably inflating and/or deflating one or more cell. Moreover, a pressure-mitigation system can be readily integrated into a conventional treatment regimen for a variety of different conditions.
UNDERPANTS-TYPE DISPOSABLE DIAPER
A waist portion W has a first portion P1 and a second portion P2 each including a waist elastic member. The first portion P1 includes an over sheet layer folded back at an edge of a waist opening WO extending to an inside of a waist inner sheet layer. The over sheet layer is formed of a sheet material having a portion folded back at an edge of the waist opening WO from a position outside the waist elastic member in the second portion P2 and extending to a position inside the waist elastic member in the second portion P2. In the first portion P1, the waist elastic member is not fixed to the sheet material. In the second portion P2, the waist elastic member is fixed to the sheet material, and the sheet material is contracted in a width direction WD together with the waist elastic member.
Absorbent articles comprising sensors
A sensor system for detecting a property of or within an absorbent article may comprise an absorbent article and a sensor. The absorbent article may comprise a garment-facing layer and an absorbent assembly. The sensor may be disposed in and/or on the absorbent article. The sensor may be separable from the absorbent article. The sensor may be configured to sense a change in condition within the absorbent article.
STRETCHABLE MEMBER AND DISPOSABLE WEAR ARTICLE USING STRETCHABLE MEMBER
To prevent or suppress the occurrence of tearing of an elastic film between stretchable regions in an elastic sheet stretchable structure. An elastic sheet stretchable structure is provided, in which an elastic film is laminated between a first sheet layer having air permeability and a second sheet layer having air permeability, and the first sheet layer and the second sheet layer are bonded at a large number of sheet bonded portions arranged at intervals. At the boundary between a first stretchable region and a second stretchable region, a separation distance Px in an elastic limit elongation state between a bonded portion located on a side of the boundary of the first stretchable region in a stretchable direction and a bonded portion located on a side of the boundary of the second stretchable region in a stretchable direction is 10 mm or less.

PATIENT-ORIENTING ALTERNATING PRESSURE SUPPORT APPARATUS WITH LOWER EXTREMITY WEDGE
Described herein are systems and apparatuses for enhanced comfort through contact pressure reduction. In particular, the systems and apparatuses disclosed herein prevent or otherwise mitigate pressure by actively orienting a patient over an anatomy-specific pressure-mitigating contact surface on which the patient rests. A pressure-mitigating contact portion of the contact surface includes a plurality of independently pressurized chambers configured in a specific geometric pattern that is designed to mitigate contact pressure between a support surface (e.g., bed or chair) and a specific anatomic region of a patient's body when the specific anatomic region of the patient's body is oriented over an epicenter of the geometric pattern. Additionally, a plurality of elevated side support portions and a wedge interconnected on the base material are configured to actively orient the specific anatomic region of the patient's body over the epicenter of the geometric pattern.
Stretch structure for absorbent article, and underpants-type disposable diaper using same
A stretchable structure of an absorbent article includes a stretchable region and a non-stretchable region. A laminate of a first sheet layer, second sheet layer, and elastic film between the first and second sheet layers extends over the stretchable and non-stretchable regions. The first and second sheet layers are bonded to each other at a large number of dot-like joints via through holes formed in the elastic film stretched along the surfaces of the first and second sheet layers in a stretchable direction. The dot-like joints are arrayed at intervals in the stretchable direction and a direction perpendicular to the stretchable direction. An end of the stretchable region adjacent to the non-stretchable region is a buffer stretchable section. The area rate of dot-like joints in the buffer stretchable section is larger than the area rate of dot-like joints in the main section not including the buffer stretchable section.
