An absorbent article which can be more readily adaptable to meet the needs of the individual wearer of the absorbent article. The absorbent article can have a topsheet layer, a backsheet layer, and an absorbent core between the topsheet layer and the backsheet layer. The backsheet layer can have a garment attachment mechanism located on a garment facing surface of the backsheet layer. The absorbent article can further have a protection layer situated over and engaged with the garment attachment mechanism. The protection layer can be capable of being at least partially dis-engaged from the garment attachment mechanism. The protection layer of the absorbent article can be utilized by the wearer to provide additional area of coverage as deemed suitable by the wearer of the absorbent article.

A feminine night pad is described having multiple layers of absorbent material selectively stacked in a manner to define a body portion and a central portion. Each portion is laid upon an upper surface of a trim member including an impermeable sheet. The body portion has a plurality of absorbing layers set in from the edge of the trim member. The central portion is built upon the body portion and includes one or more layers of additional absorbent material. The trim member is covered in absorbent material and extends around the entire periphery of the body portion. The trim member and corresponding portions are formed into a triangular shape to better conform to a woman's body.

Disclosed is a non-slip cotton sanitary pad, including a pad body, configured such that a cotton lining, an absorption pad and a waterproof cover are sequentially stacked, and a pair of wings protruding from both sides of the pad body, wherein the pair of wings protruding from both sides of the pad body includes a fastener so that the wings are fastened together in a folded state on the same surface, the cotton sanitary pad is disposed such that the waterproof cover contacts underwear, and the waterproof cover includes a non-slip member on the surface contacting the underwear.

A magnetic panty liner assembly for reducing menstrual pain includes a first panel, a first panel, a second panel, and a third panel. The second panel, which is absorbent, is coupled to a lower face of the first panel. The third panel is coupled to a bottom surface of the second panel and a perimeter of the first panel to enclose the second panel. The ridge and the third panel are impermeable. A coupler on an exterior face of the third panel is configured to couple the third panel to an undergarment. Menstrual fluid flows through the first panel to be absorbed by the second panel. A ridge on the first panel is positioned in abutment to skin of the user to prevent leakage. Magnets that are positioned between the second panel and the third panel are configured to reduce pain of menstruation.

Tampons and production methods are provided that provide tampons made of at least 80% cellulose-based fibers, such as cotton or viscose, without plastic top sheets. The tampons consist of cylindrically-compressed rolled strips of entangled non-woven fabric and may be made of 100% natural cellulose-based fibers, the fabric having a tensile strength that is larger than 10N/50 mm. The fabric may be folded longitudinally in various folding configurations and rolled transversely before compression to tampon dimensions.

The present invention provides an absorbent which is suppressed in leakage and back-flow of an absorbed liquid. An absorbent which contains a water absorbent resin, wherein: the water absorbent resin has a saline holding capacity of 45 g/g or more and a five-minute value of DW under no pressure of 45 ml/g or more; and the weight per square meter of the water absorbent resin in the absorbent is 50 g/m.sup.2 to 350 g/m.sup.2.

An enzyme-degradable system for undergarments and feminine hygiene articles works to decompose the undergarments and feminine hygiene articles upon being triggered by bodily fluids, such as urine. The undergarment or feminine hygiene article comprises an absorbent core, an inner sheet of biodegradable material, and an outer sheet of biodegradable material. The core includes at least one of the following: a cellulose material, a wood pulp, a biodegradable and bioactive thermoplastic aliphatic polyester derived from renewable resources (polylactic acid plasticPLA), and a superabsorbent polymer (SAP). The inner and outer sheets comprise a plant based cellulosic nonwoven material. The cellulose enzyme decomposes the absorbent core, the inner sheet, and the outer sheet upon contact with a bodily fluid. The cellulose enzyme may include DIS-1018 Cellulose-AN, a pH buffer, and additives. Fasteners made from a resilient, biodegradable material help secure the undergarments and feminine hygiene articles to the body.

The above problem is solved by a pad type disposable diaper 200, in which a top sheet 22 is formed of a thermoplastic nonwoven fabric, and absorbent bodies 23A and 23B are formed of a lower layer absorbent body 23B and an upper layer absorbent body 23A provided on a front surface of the lower layer absorbent body 23B, wherein a slit 40 having a predetermined width is provided in the upper layer absorbent body 23A at least at a crotch portion C2 so as to extend in a front-back direction, and the slit 40 having the predetermined width is not provided in the lower layer absorbent body 23B, the top sheet 22 includes a depressed portion 30 that is depressed into the slit 40, and multiple low permeation portions 80 are provided with intervals at least in the depressed portion 30, the low permeation portions 80 being portions in which fibers are welded to each other in a state of being compressed in a thickness direction.

An elongated cylinder in place in the center of the pad to help with leaks better coverage throughout the use of the pad.

A sanitary napkin includes: a substrate having a base layer and an absorbent body mounted on the base layer, and defining a longitudinal direction (X) and a width direction (Y) perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (X); and at least one absorbing unit including a plurality of connecting portions connected to the absorbent body and spaced apart among one another in the longitudinal direction (X), an absorbing portion extending in the longitudinal direction (X) and connected to the connecting portions, and a plurality of cotton fluffs disposed on the absorbing portion.
