Absorbent article with multi-layer folded absorbent core
Absorbent laminates and multi-layer, folded absorbent cores comprising the absorbent laminates for use in absorbent articles are presented. Specifically, multi-layer, folded absorbent cores are presented that are formed from an absorbent laminate comprising an absorbent layer between two tissue layers, in which the absorbent core includes a central channel running longitudinally along the core and crenellations profiled along the thickness of the core and providing enhanced liquid distribution across the core surface area or profile and improved liquid absorption into the laminate.
EXPANDABLE ABSORBENT CORE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
An expandable absorbent structure comprises an expansion loop core configured to expand in response to absorption of a liquid and an expansion loop material structure surrounding the expansion loop core and having a trough therein, wherein the trough is formed from a first portion of the expansion loop material structure folded over a second portion of the expansion loop material structure at a first elbow of the expansion loop material structure. In response to an increase in size of the expansion loop core, the expansion loop core presses against the expansion loop material structure to cause a length of the trough to decrease.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH AN EXUDATE MANAGEMENT LAYER
An absorbent article can have a topsheet layer, a liquid impermeable layer, and an absorbent core positioned between the topsheet layer and the liquid impermeable layer. The absorbent article can further include an exudate management layer in fluid communication with the topsheet layer. In various embodiments, the exudate management layer can be positioned on a body facing surface of the topsheet layer. In various embodiments, the exudate management layer can be positioned between the topsheet layer and the absorbent core. The exudate management layer has a first component which defines an opening for direct passage of body exudates into the absorbent core. The exudate management layer has a second component which at least partially overlaps the first component of the exudate management layer and further extends in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article in a direction towards the posterior region of the absorbent article.
THONG-STYLE ABSORBENT ARTICLE
A thong-style absorbent article can have a waist region, a back extension extending from a back waist portion of the waist region, and a chassis extending between a front waist portion of the waist region and the back extension. The chassis can have a generally triangular shape and a pair of containment features positioned at the longitudinal direction side edges of the chassis. An exudate management system can be positioned between the pair of containment features and can have a first exudate management component and a second exudate management component. In various embodiments, the absorbent article can be adjustable in size and positioning about the wearer to provide for improved fit of the absorbent article and reduced leakage of exudate from the absorbent article.
PACKAGE FOR ABSORBENT ARTICLES FORMING A THREE-DIMENSIONAL BASIN
A package comprising a stack of absorbent articles which are bi- or tri-folded, and each article comprises a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent core comprises an absorbent layer comprising a central portion, a first side portion and a second side portion, a first folding guide between the central portion and the first side portion, and a second folding guide between the central portion and the second side portion. Each side portion comprises a plurality of winglets, each winglet having a proximal side relative to a folding guide and extending outward from this proximal side. Neighboring winglets are separated by a gap between their neighboring sides. When the absorbent core is folded along the folding guides, the central portion and the side portions form a three-dimensional basin and the gaps between the winglets decrease, the neighboring sides optionally coming into contact. The articles in the package are either bi-folded along a transversal fold line and are compressed at an In-Bag Compression Rate of from 5% to 50%, or the articles are tri-folded along a first fold line and a second fold line parallel to the transversal direction.

Absorbent articles forming a three-dimensional basin
An absorbent article, such as a diaper, comprising a topsheet, a backsheet and an absorbent core. The absorbent layer comprises a longitudinally-extending central portion, and a first and second side portions disposed transversally outward of the central portion. The absorbent core further comprises first and second folding guides between the central portion and the side portions. The central portion and the side portions form a three-dimensional basin when the absorbent core is folded along the folding guides. The article further comprises at least one liquid management layer substantially free of superabsorbent polymer between the topsheet and the absorbent core. The liquid management layer comprises a central portion, first and second side portions, and first and second folding guides which are at least partially superposed with the folding guides of the absorbent core.
Absorbent cores having channel-forming areas and C-wrap seals
Substantially planar absorbent core comprising at least 80% and up to 100% by weight of superabsorbent polymer as absorbent material on an absorbent material deposition area and a core wrap. The absorbent material deposition area comprises at least one absorbent material-free channel-forming areas through which the top and bottom substrates of the core wrap are bonded together. An auxiliary glue is applied directly at least to the inner surface of the first substrate on an auxiliary glue application area.
