The present invention relates to accessories for which small gemstones can be utilized and a method for manufacturing same. The technical gist of the present invention is to firmly fix small gemstones, which are difficult to use due to the small size thereof, to accessories (rings, bracelets, or earrings) by a simple method, and minimize the deformation of earrings due to heat by welding a wire to the earrings with laser, thereby reducing manufacturing cost and increasing completeness of products (accessories).

The faceted plate has a central opening for the passage of a pavilion region of the precious stone therethrough, an upward facing reflecting surface that partially extends below a girdle of the precious stone and which faces a portion of the pavilion region of the precious stone in spaced relationship thereto, and a portion that protrudes peripherally beyond the girdle of the precious stone. The faceted plate is being configured to reflect light that emanates from the pavilion of the precious stone outwardly and upwardly, the reflected light surrounding and extending beyond the precious stone to produce a visual effect of the precious stone being larger in a peripheral dimension thereof than it actually is.

Set gemstones, gemstone settings, and methods of setting gemstones including a cut gemstone having a girdle a plurality of horizontal grooves each having an upper edge and a lower edge, wherein the upper edges of the plurality of horizontal grooves are located within the girdle, abut a lower edge of the girdle, or are within 1 millimeter beneath the lower edge of the girdle, and a cylindrical barrel having a central aperture, an open top, a rim at the top forming an upper edge of the barrel, and a plurality of flanges projecting into the central aperture of the barrel located directly beneath the rim, wherein the flanges project into the grooves to maintain the gemstone within the barrel.
