Absorbent cores comprising a layered structure and methods of manufacture are disclosed. An absorbent article can include a layered absorbent structure having top and bottom layers enclosing a reinforcement layer. The body can have a first absorbent layer between the reinforcement layer and the bottom layer, a second absorbent layer between the top layer and the reinforcement layer, and a third absorbent layer disposed between the top layer and the second absorbent layer with the third absorbent layer comprising fibrous absorbent material. The first and second absorbent layers can include superabsorbent material, and superabsorbent material can be embedded within the reinforcing layer. Adhesive can be disposed between the top layer and the third absorbent layer, between the second absorbent layer and the reinforcement layer, and between the first absorbent layer and the bottom layer.

Absorbent structure

An absorbent structure comprising one or more absorbent layers wherein the absorbent structure exhibits a first cycle Peak Force compression between about 30 grams and about 150 grams. The absorbent structure further exhibits a fifth cycle dry recovery energy between 0.1 mJ and 2.8 mJ.

MULTI-FUNCTIONAL SANITARY NAPKIN WITH ADJUSTABLE ABSORBENCY AND SIZE
20250381077 · 2025-12-18 ·

The present invention discloses a multi-functional sanitary napkin designed for customizable menstrual protection. It features a base pad with multiple absorbent layers and a moisture-proof backing for optimal absorption and leak prevention. Removable absorbent sections within the base pad allow users to adjust absorbency by peeling off or detaching sections, each interlocking with adjacent sections to maintain integrity. The napkin includes detachable wings, attached via a perforated seam or snap system, for user preference without compromising structure. Adjustable length and width are achieved through foldable or detachable sections and side panels, secured with fastening mechanisms like Velcro, snaps, or adhesive strips. Re-sealable edges prevent leaks and ensure pad integrity after adjustments. This design prioritizes user comfort, customization, and leak protection, accommodating various needs throughout the menstrual cycle.

ABSORBENT ARTICLE COMPRISING A MULTI-LAYER CUSHION LAYER

An absorbent article having a liquid-permeable topsheet, a liquid-impermeable backsheet, an absorbent core, and a cushion layer between the absorbent core and the backsheet is presented. The cushion layer includes at least two sub-layers. The sub-layers advantageously have different widths or are bonded to each other by one or more longitudinally-extending attachment areas.

The present inventive concept relates to a washable sanitary product. The sanitary product comprises a liquid impermeable back sheet, a liquid retaining pad, having an outer surface area adapted to reside nearest the skin of the user and an inner surface resting against the back sheet, wherein a peripheral portion of said back sheet extends radially outside a perimeter of said liquid retaining pad. The sanitary product further comprises a liquid impermeable annular liner being sealingly attached to the outer surface of the liquid retaining pad along the peripheral portion of the liquid retaining pad by a first seal and to the peripheral portion of the back sheet by a second seal, such that the peripheral portion of the liquid retaining pad is sandwiched between the back sheet and the liner. The annular liner and the back sheet together form a liquid impermeable container for said liquid retaining pad. The liquid retaining pad comprises least one element of spacer fabric that serves as both liquid distribution layer and as liquid retaining layer.

Multi-layered absorbent article

An absorbent article for menstrual and/or incontinence purposes, having a unique two-layer acquisition and absorbent structure. The cover layer includes a nonwoven material. The absorbent core includes multiple strata including super absorbent, fiber material that is pulp and/or bicomponent fibers, and a binder material. The total thickness of the absorbent article is less than or equal to the thickness of absorbent articles of similar absorbent characteristics. The absorbent article includes various absorbent properties that are improved despite parity or reduction in overall thickness.
